Only one?? That'll be difficult

Probably.. this little fellow:

If I can choose more than one, I'd adopt a slow loris, sloth and a wombat :D

this thread is hillarious...love mojo the monkey too.

id love to have some kind of exotic cat, jaguar would be awesome or a snow leapord. thats if i had an immense wildlife reserve stocked with other animals where th pet would be the alpha predator and have access to hunt roam ect. a polar bear would be cool too.

"look at the forearms on that thing. must work out." that had me going for a good minute lol :)

If I didn't live in an apartment I would definitely go with a big cat:

But since my living space is quite small, I'll get an octopus. <3

Pay homage to lost loved pets (the pet shrine).

Last night our little Maltese cross jack russle was hit by a 4x4.

He'd snuck out to chew on the dead roo out front on the road.

The driver was a wonderful man, who brought him to me in his car, much respect to this fellow.

He was only roughly 4 years old and we had him since pup.

Rest in peace little dude, you'll be missed forever.<3 <3

I may add more later, but that will do for now.

Thanks for your time.

Post some photos of the good times if you're able Captain. Many times remembering helps just a little more than it hurts. Last I had to go through the pain of loosing a pet, it took me a while to come to terms with. For someone like myself, just as hard a loss as many other things. I feel for you sir. :(

Both of my cats are getting to be on the older side now, eleven and twelve respectively. Both are starting to experience the first signs of health issues, and with myself away at college I only wish I had more of my time to spend with them before health declines further. As the saying goes, "time spent with cats is never wasted". :\

Here they are from about a year and a half ago before any of the issue started:

Sorry about your loss Captain. A few weeks back we had to put my dog to sleep and it was really hard. I'm heartbroken and will post a picture later when I feel stronger. A pet shrine is an awesome idea! <3

Bronson your kitties are gorgeous!

We got Buddy and his sister Mouse as kittens 13 years ago. Buddy was a really regular cat until about the age of two and then he became afraid of everything except me--even everyone else in the family. Sudden moves, noise, new people--everything scared him. When I was getting ready to go traveling, I constantly had these talks with him where I would say, "Buddy, you just have to be safe and wait for me. I'll be back" because I was really scared that he would disappear. It turns out that he did and we think that a predator must have gotten him. He didn't show up for breakfast one morning and my husband immediately went to all the neighbors, the shelter and put up signs. Buddy had a microchip for ID so if he had turned up at any shelter they could have IDed him. My husband didn't want to tell me for awhile so I had been gone about a month before I knew. I still find myself calling him even though I know he is not coming back. I hope his end was quick. He really was my Buddy in every sense.

Awwww <3 RIP to your beautiful pets.

We had to put down the cat I'd had when I lived with my parents about a year and a half ago. That was tough. She was kinda my cat, she liked me best, you know. We had another cat who liked my sister more (she passed away a while ago).

My hamster passed away about the same time (a few weeks before) we put down my cat. But I have had a few hamsters, they have short life spans.

You really do grow attached to your pets, eh. <3

Beautiful <3

My cat lived until 18 and our other cat lived until 16 (approx, she was a stray so we're unsure of her exact age but we adopted her while we was young so it's pretty close). They both had health issues but didn't get too bad until their last year. Just because their health has started declining doesn't mean you don't still have time left with them! We probably had a good five years where they were not as energetic as they were but they were still fine :)

Red Kitty,

You came, you conquered, you staked out your territory - a section of this planet to call your own. You fought many and lossed little. I saved your life once, and you never forgot. Here's to you.
