Its a job in the public sector, though. They seem to play by their own rules. But it should be interesting to see how things turn out. I technically should be offered the job unless they can find a justified reason not to hire me. As far as I am concerned, if they exclude me from consideration because of either of those past mistakes, it is purely because they desire to hire someone else who is lower on the "list"(this is through the Mass civil service). But if they do decide to do that, I wonder if they are justified in making that decision based on my past indiscretions.

Sucks that something you did so long ago can still be held against you...When I caught that charge (poss Class A) I think at the time it was a felony...as for now I don't know for sure if it's been downgraded to a misdemeanor cause it's so prevalent here...All for one shitty bag!! I've been gettin along with off book work for years now but I wish i could get a real job with better pay instead of working for a few bucks to get your daily fix...I feel if I apply for a job and get a chance to sit down with the interviewer and really talk to them about my past and how i've moved on from that kind of thing (even though I really haven't, haha) and I really could be an asset to the company cause if I'm applying for a certain job or position I wouldn't even bother unless I had some knowledge or experience to offer...if they train you even better!!

Jobs take that in consideration though in a big way. If you have a charge from only a year ago.. compared to 5, 10, 15 years etc, they look at it very differently.

A lot of jobs only even ask about felonies you have within the last 5 years.

Maybe it's just the ugly stigma attached to heroin...u know with ppl who've never been exposed to it or tried it or don't even know anyone who's ever used it...they hear "heroin" and it's like you have the plague and AIDS or somethin'...

Yeah that's very true. I think a lot of people have a better opinion of leprosy then heroin addicts.. hah. It's got a huge dirty stigma attached to it. However, that is starting to change as its becoming so popular in suburban, affluent, white communities. People are seeing a face of heroin that they never thought existed. It's not just dirty homeless junkies living in the city.. it's your educated, 18 year old white kid, who lives in the suburbs and plays on the football team.. :\

This is so true most of my good friends from the past won't associate with my cuz of heroin use and I never had that problem when I did oxys.

^That is f'd up. Especially if those friends are doing oxy. Holier than thou prescription drug users...more like f'n ignorant idiots. Good, go pay 2-3x to get high and feel like you are a better person.

Yea its the same people doing it as who were doing the oxys. Kids can't afford the oxy with the crackdown and all. Now the market for heroin is there. But I know there are a lot of people who were oxy addicts but got clean or still use just oxy and think its some huge step up in terms of a drug problem. I guess a lot of people are freaked out by IV use, then associate heroin with it, particularly in the upper middle class cities.

Yeah that sucks, man. But you're in good company. We've basically all been through that. It's fucked up but it happens, that's just the reality.. H has a massive stigma attached to it, and oxy users can be self-ritcheous as a mother fucker.

But, end of the day.. screw them. They'll get theirs in a few years when they end up switching to dope and fucking up their whole life.

Just deserts for the win.

I think you meant to post that in the Chicago thread. We don't take kindly to your type around here...

Just playing man, but I'm assuming you made the trip from Indy to Chicago and it seems like it was worth it.

Nah I moved back up to Chicago. and sry for posting this here, it was supposed to be in the Chicago thread lol... but just got back with some of the same shit. Bout to blast off. Cheers :)

Hey BL'ers...just here waiting to get picked up to go shovel off some roofs; you know, to make room for the snow that's comin' ffs!!! Hell, @ $50 a pop which is far cheaper than gettin a pro to do it, imo they are makin out pretty well. I know of ppl out there chargin at the least $100-150

I charge 35$ an hour for that minimum If it's two stories or higher. If you're doing big rooves you should charge more.

Same here. My sister treats me like I'm subhuman. I just got all the way through WD's for the first time in five years.

On the third night I took gabapentin with 100mg trazodone, and then on the fifth day gabapentin again. It really helped. I feel really close to in the clear now. Just bad anxiety but I'll deal. I've tried lope before but I reccomend the gabapentin and trazodone, and maybe weed if you can. You have to taper lope or you still withdraw.

A proper sub taper down to .25mg for your last three days and then 15mg of xanax is the only other way I successfully did it before my first relapse

^You didn't take all those benzos at once did you?

I find Lorazepam worked great for detox, I actually thought it worked better than clonazpema for me, but my habit was probably smaller then and I was further into wd when I took the lorazepam.

^Lorazepam is strange that way..It's the least recreational benzo, but it seems to work better than anything else for opiate WDs.
