Opioids Loperamide (Immodium) Megathread: We have now lost at least 2 of our own from Lope

It works for alleviating withdrawal in high doses, but that's pretty much it. If you take it to get buzzed, you will be disappointed.

On my first experiment with lope and having success with 50mg and some weed. There's definitely a buzz, it's weak comparable to codeine but still something. My tolerance is really low though, have been clean of heroin & other opioids for a few months (other than a few blue moon binges;))

Edit: also find it hilarious the amount of redundant ignorant posts in this thread. Up to 80mg feelin good.

I didnt know you can get hooked on DXM . I did DXM for 2 years straight everyday almost and i didnt have any dependence of it... LOL after the 2 years i was filled with joy actually because i was just tired of drinking that nasty ass elixer.

^^^OT but I would probably lose my mind and be a mental patient if I did that. Why use this stuff with kratom so readily available to help with opiate w/d though?

I began ~45mg lope ten days into a suboxone wd to very good effect.

Jumped off at 1mg sub (after a year and a half starting at 16mg) and had nonstop sweats, chills, yawning, anxiety, insomnia, no appetite, terrible RLS, agitation, etc.

Three hours after the lope administration ALL wd symptoms were eliminated save for a mild sense of dissociation and fatigue similar to jetlag.

Today is day ten on lope and doing ok.. at 30mg and functional. Plan to drop a pill per day (2mg) until 0mg.

My MAJOR complaint is NOT constipation but my desiccated nasal passages and throat. Feels like I've been snorting drywall.

Godspeed.

Its too late Timland. I am the heart broken mother of a beautiful and curious now dead 19 yr old.he died on jan 12th.

I've said it before, here I am saying it again. Loperamide has pretty much ZERO abuse potential. It does not pass the BBB under normal circumstances. If so - why the fuck am I taking the guts of 24x 30mg codeine phosphate pills for breakfast in the morning!?!?!

Cocaine may possible break down the BBB enough for loperamide to cross. Either that or your some sort of fucking mutant.

I call BS on this.

If loperamide could cross the BBB, would would even want it to? This has the whole MPPP/MPP+ disaster written all over it. Remember people, loperamide is structurally related to methadone.

Could loperamide be a GREAT opioid? Yeah it could be. Does that mean we should stuff ourselves with cocaine, omeprazole, quinine and black pepper in order to force it to "squeeze past" that pesky blood brain barrier (hey - thanks for keeping me alive by the way!) for a cheap high that may involved having a portion of my large bowel removed. No, it most certainly does not.

Stay safe, much love.

To the best of my knowledge he took loperamide with antacid, Indian tonic water and white grapefruit juice. Possibly black pepper too. We got home at 2.30 on that Sunday afternoon and he seemed normal but complained he was tired and went to lie down at 3.30. We checked on him about 6pm as he was making funny sounds in his sleep. His dad woke him and he was startled but said he was fine. We checked him again at 7.50 as he was so quiet and he was already dead. I don't know for sure but I think he may have taken some Tuesday and then again Friday and Saturday. We won't get the autopsy results for months which is very distressing. From my research I think he may have died from respiratory failure caused by overdosing. He had no previous opiate use. He only went looking for something else because he couldn't get hold of any weed.
My first reaction was to warn the world but that would only highlight it more and I do not want other parents to go through this.
The reason I joined the forum is to share and warn and hope that the addicts and those in wd that talk about it make it known that that it's potentially lethal to anyone with low or no tolerance.
I found the post he read on his computer and it made it sound mild and harmless.
My beautiful intelligent and creative boy didn't just collapse like others I have read about he just slipped away.. No second chance ...

I wish I could believe its bs but the facts are that before mon 6th Jan my son had never heard of lope. It appears that Tuesday he got some (1 pack of 20) and then on Thursday it seems he got 4 more from a different pharmacy. He also bought rimitidine, Indian tonic water and grapefruit juice. Obviously we didn't know about the lope at the time. By Sunday evening (12th) he was dead. Seems like a big coincidence. Believe me I would like to be wrong about this. If he had told us ( hindsight is bloody annoying) there were small signs but we didn't spot them. He was a bit puffy eyed and his lips a bit too red and he looked a bit pale and seemed a bit clammy. I just though he'd just got up and had been gaming all night as we were out. I thought he was just sweaty as it was a hot day. I just wish he had told us what he had done. Normally he was very open with us.
I'm not trying to disparage anyone on here I just want to share and hopefully prevent other deaths.
I also think that a lot of people on here are probably on other forums and can maybe spread my concerns.

Holy cruel world, R.I.P Timland... It's ironic how he mentioned how someone would OD on loperamide, like a senators son.... Fuck this shit is sad.... FUCKFUCKFUYCKFYCKAEUIHUIEAGT *AEGFEA ..... OK now I am confused, was Timland your son? Or am I just misunderstanding the posts?? Pleeeeeeeeeease clarify this for me...

I always find it really strange when people give the excuse of using harmful drugs because they couldn't get a small bit of marijuana. Obviously if this is the case some underlying issue is present.

happydays...sorry for your loss. But something tells me your son may have been hiding an underlying opiate habit. I can't imagine anyone who is naïve to opiates go to such lengths to take a lethal dose of LOPERMIDE. I think it took my parents almost a decade to find out I was using opiates. It happened because I decided to get clean and get on Suboxone so I fessed up. Sounds like your son may have been desperately searching for something to stave off withdrawals. Just a theory, but it is mighty curious to think your son just decided to take tons of Lope out of the blue just because he was out of weed.

My prayers go out to you and your family. This makes the second death from Immodium on Bluelight.

Sorry for any confusion. To clarify I'm not Timlands mum. I came across this forum during my search to understand loperamide and my sons passing

I can see where you are coming from stafwriter but we were very close to our son. He was living at home. A small cottage with no where in easy walking distance. He didn't drive so only went where we took him. He was very intelligent but struggled with anxiety hence the need for weed. I totally underestimated his habitual dependence on it. He was quite lonely as his friends all got girlfriends and he ft left behind. He was also a student with very little money so it's very unlikely. He was always researching things and was curious about legal alternative highs such as poppy seed tea which he tried a while back. He also tried a lot of herbal remedies including teas made from various owers etc. I don't feel we would have missed it. He was a big lad 6'3 and probably thought he could handle a large dose. Of course there could have been an underlying issue which we don't yet know about which compounded the problem but it still remains that over the course of 4-5 days he took 200mg of loperamide,
