Legless Man Kills Girlfriend.

*snip* I've played rugby around the world and have met my fair share and can honestly say only 4-5 of the hundreds I have met didn't have an element of arrogant racist fuck about them.

OTW isn't the first person to have said this, in my life time.

Had a few relatives that lived over there, I was told they were racist cunts also.

I find offence in you condoning such actions with the word culture.

Sorry to offend, I am not for a moment condoning ANY violence. I am trying to explain it from a cultural stand point that might be alot harder to understand for people (perhaps not Stone or Shambles but others) less well travelled & experienced with the world than your good self OTW. No offence intended at any turn. I may well offend, but I do not mean to.

The above quote I am sorry to say I have to agree with. I'd go 80-20 though. Some white Saffa's are okay & their numbers will continue to increase, I hope.

edit - rarely do so many BLers agree on something! There simply must be something to it, eh? Once again though, the people who are cool, are exceptionally cool... comparatively! lol

We like to take drugs and pass judgement on murderers and paedophiles. It's what we do here in EADD.

U wot m8? I've seen plenty too, ffs.

Well Jesus, maybe not you & one or two others either. Is that enough quantification for you? or would you like to tear some more posts apart word for word? I got all night to express my opinion & it wouldn't be the first time I've been out on my own in that department...

Those against murder?

Those against South Africans lmao

Back to the case - I think the guy murdered his gf. If your in bed with your partner and you hear 'any' noise you would, before reaching for bat / club /gun wake them up an say - what the fuck is that? Did you hear that? After you know your both safe you would point gun at the point of the noise?

Aye, well I don't know too much about the case... but sometimes you shoot first and ask questions later. This doesn't mean I'm supporting the guy, nor am I saying what he did could be justified not only in a court but morally too.

Wow, now we're agreeing. Sorry for being touchy up there ^^

I best get my head down early, had a fucking stressful couple of days. Sick cat.

I do plan to bolt out of bed & throw a couple hollow point rounds through my locked bathroom door, but don't worry, my gf is at her place =D

Nite gang! *waves*

Honestly, guys, have neither of you not ever done anything you regretted, never lost your temper & said something you regretted? Never hit someone who didn't quite deserve it? If you have ever lost your temper or said something hurtful, you must be able to understand remorse. I've never blown anyone away but I have without question got regrets & remorse for some of the things I've said & done.

Maybe I sympathise with this murdering prick because I too am a control freak. Perhaps his personality & mine are more closely aligned than yours are. Maybe having a foot in white African culture further advances my empathy.

Nothing I have said, as far as I'm conerned, condones this guys actions in any way whatsoever, does it? All I'm doing is trying to express how I would feel had I done something as momentously stupid, if not downright evil, as this guy has. For want of a better phrase, I'm tryin to put myself in his shoes. Yes, I know, I saw that pun the first time ;)

I read somewhere that true enlightenment is love & empathy for all things. Even, perhaps most especially, towards those who appear to deserve it the least. I've tried this & it's actually done me the world of good, I hate myself for my failings alot less than I used to. But I still hate myself. I'm sure, if Oscar Pistorius doesn't hate himself now it is because he is distracted by his predicament, he will. Sadly, time might heal but it cannot be turned back. He's going to live with this, in or out of prison, for the rest of his life. I would not be at all surprised if he opted out, if you get me...

Again, I agree with this.

While Oscar is not a good person, acted selfishly and let his emotions overpower him whereas many others wouldn't have etc... at the end of the day humans are psychologically complex, it's not fair to judge him entirely on one act and I'm sure some of his distress is genuine. He's made some huge mistakes and he's paying for it now. He's still a human being, no matter how much he let himself down that time.

I would strongly disagree. I claim ignorance. I have no fukkin clue what a "SA defence" could possibly consist of. And isn't the victim SA too? Your racism call makes no sense to me. I'd say exactly the same thing wherever the person was from. And however many limbs they happen to have.

Incidentally, where did my earlier posts go and why can't I see them? I don't ask this of you - my lil posting chums - but of passing senior staff who appear to have nobbled legitimate posting with no reason whatsoever and it has annoyed me. Please justify your actions more publicly than you vanish things.

Pistorius certainly viewed life as cheap and guns as toys. Now, maybe, just maybe he's a victim of a violent, paranoid, misogynistic, racist "culture" (faute de mieux). But at the end of the day, he deserves to take at least some responsibility, for just listening blindly to it and not thinking for himself enough. There are plenty of other people who don't go around killing.

The most charitable interpretation of the events that are not in dispute is still that, by firing a gun through a closed door, he recklessly endangered a person's life with a firearm. One of the most basic rules of a civilised society is, nobody can be punished by death for a crime against mere property. Property is worth less than the life of the burglar trying to steal it -- always.

Even although it may have been a dreadful mistake (and the evidence really isn't pointing thataway), he did kill another human being. And for that, he surely deserves a custodial sentence. If not for his own sake, for the sake of others who might see it and think No, this is not what I want my life to be.

That's a remarkably balanced, humane and sensible way of putting it, Julie. I agree wholeheartedly. As did my other posts.

(which really are bugging me - did i post here in my imagination or did they just vanish completely along with others?)

I have reported this post - racist!

Is it racist to suggest that the majority of White South Africans are tolerate of the black population? It would be a complete lie to suggest that, you can't report facts no matter who much they leave a bad taste in your mouth.

My receptionist is South African, I love her and her husband like my own parents. We bond over rugby, cricket and BBQ's, but come the end of the night, once the good brandy has been poured, they both turn into complete cunts with regards to the blacks. And they are two of the minority who I actually consider some what tolerant. It's not only the colour of their skin, most Afrikaans wouldn't try to brake if they saw an Englishman crossing the street either. The history of intolerance and hatred can't be washed aside like a edited post on a forum.

I edited it as I agree with Bear. Using generalisations like that to describe whole populations is the very definition of racism. Are you really trying to say your opinion applies to every South African? Then it's racist.
