I've just added it to my guilty pleasures list too. %)

YOU CAN DANCE.... FOR INSPIRATION.

^Haha :D

Another one of my guilty pleasures, and possibly the best film Madonna ever did.

For some reason I aways laugh when Gary goes to take the shopping bag from the maid and she says, "noooo uh uh!!!. You're not gettin' your hands on this, BABY!!!".

=D

^ hehe im guilty as charged as well. i want too say its her best film also... but i can't honestly say that because im looking at her filmography and besides dick tracy, evita, and ' a league of their own' i haven't seen any others... and i only saw the last two once i can recall. i remember her in dick tracy kinda well... she played that part quite well i think... the role fit her as a sexy singer.

Madonna's renowned for making appalling choices when it comes to selecting roles. But I do happen to think she has potential. I reckon she just needs the right director to give her that push. There's actually one film where I thought she was quite good.

The film itself was a bit of a snoozefest, but it's worth watching just to see her do something decent for a change.

I caught the last 30 mins of Brokeback Mountain:

and really wished that I'd tuned in earlier.

That was followed by Candy:

again, I only saw about the first 40 mins as it was on TV quite late. I really wanted to see the rest though as it looked quite promising. I'd never really seen anything with Heath Ledger before, but he had a real talent. Such a shame. :(

When my people come to colonize this planet, you will be on the protected rolls, and no harm will come to you.!

Saw Music Within Saturday afternoon.

The True Story Of Richard Pimentel, A Brilliant Public Speaker With A Troubled Past, Who Returns From Vietnam Severely Hearing-Impaired And Finds A New Purpose In His Landmark Efforts On The Behalf Of Americans With Disabilities...

It surprises me finding such great movies that never really got much attention in the theaters, if any.

Just finished "Savage Grace" with Julianne Moore. It was a bit disjointed to me, because I didn't previously know the true story on which it is based. This is a major flaw - a movie should stand on its own. I'm not saying that it should go out of its way to be foreboding in a cheesy way, but there is surely a better way to tie together the ending with the rest of the film. Life doesn't always work that way, of course, so this is hardly a reason to degrade the film completely.

All of this cryptic nonsense aside (wouldn't want to spoil anyone's viewing), I really enjoyed it and appreciated how they dealt with the themes of homosexuality and incest - neither of which is dealt with in a predictable way. The dialog is also extremely well-written and the acting is excellent as expected.

wiki - true story background:

She had a bizarre relationship with her homosexual son Antony. There were no distinct lines of privacy– they shared everything and every experience, developing an intense dependence on each other, resulting even in an incestuous sexual relationship.

Barbara had tried to "cure" her son by hiring willing girls to take him to bed, when this failed she decided to seduce Antony. In an attempt to cure Antony of his homosexuality, Barbara coerced him into having sex with her.

I watched Heathers:

Watched purely for the LOL factor. You know you're onto a winner when you have the majority of the dialogue memorised and you still laugh. I forgot about this bit though,

Veronica Sawyer: All we want is to be treated like human beings, not to be experimented on like guinea pigs or patronized like bunny rabbits.
Veronica's Dad: I don't patronize bunny rabbits.

=D

Then Jawbreaker:

I had a strange urge to watch this after. Probably because it's a Heathers rip off, albeit a pretty bad one. I just never really liked it as much as I thought I would, and have tried giving it many chances to grow on me. It's a typical case of style over content and it loses it after about 30 mins. As I sat there watching, taking note of what I would have liked to have happened in the story, apposed to what actually did, I realised that Mean Girls swiped a few ideas from this. But then, this swiped ideas from loads of different films, so I guess that makes them about even. :\
