KY, Louisville - 02.26.05 Saturday - Deep Blue 2 yr anniversary w/ Felix Da Housecat

What a great night. That was one of the best events that I have been too in a while. MY favorite dj of the night has to be Dj Booth. He rocked it. Felix and Assault were dope as well. I kept going back and forth to watch them both. And Dizzy, he was flawless. You couldn't tell when he was playing a different record. Excellent track selection. Can't wait to come back to the 'Ville..

It's about damn time that I got my ass on here... What a great weekend and what a GRRRREAT night! I have nEvEr enjoyed house music soOoo much in my entire life!! Marea, Booth and of course FeLiX, aLl ripped it for sure. I think you all might have converted me...%) I met a lot of kick-ass people, got to party with my main stay crew <3, got to party with my out of state crew and of course got to rock out with the best of them, who could ask for more??!! or without all the e that seems to be circulating l'ville..... not hatin' just statin'.

got so much more to say about my drunken adventure to louisville including openly dissing a house dj i have long disliked....

It's really a shame for you to have posted such an untrue and negative response as this, especially in the midst of overwhelmingly positive reviews.

The vibe at the party was great. That vibe was not great because of anything so artificial as drugs and alcohol (also a drug). The vibe was great because the DJs were top-notch and performed as such. The vibe was great because everyone came ready to have fun. the vibe was great because there is a 25+ person crew in Louisville who worked their asses off to provide such a stellar event.
For you to claim that "E" is the reason this party was so successful is to diminish the months of preparation and promotion it took us to throw this party... and it's hurtful.

You are someone who obviously needs to come to the 'ville more often 'cause it isn't about the drugs, it's just how we do... we love eachother, we're a huge family, and we know that hard work pays off. we like throwing parties for our friends and family and we proudly rep the 502. Come more often and learn... this wasn't just a party. it was a family reunion- and we don't need pill to enjoy eachother.

What she says....^^^^^

But yea like everyone else I had a fuckin blast!=D

Decibel- it was good meeting you afterwards at the hotel!
riahjane-SsSsShHhH
Jujubee- haha we rocked everyone's socks off!

But anyways another successful event with many more to come!%)

No beef here but: I couldn't aggree with lindz more. Let me preface this with love for the geekster (glad you made it and I wish you and ryan could have come back so we could have wrecked shop at the hushabye house) but: don't imagine this event (those of you who did not go and those of you that went) as a giant blinking e-den. This was in a club, with very tight security. No candy or glow was allowed. No overt rave-gear was allowed. This crew went above and beyond the call of duty to stay legal, straight and adult. This was a very positive event. Generally attended by adults who love each other all the time-- with a normal amount of seratonin flowing through their brains. And if I do say so myself, there is a core 200+ backbone that came to this event that also goes to hushabye, which is a generally sober-esque event-- and it shows. Louisville is a city of friends. We've known each other for years. We know who walks in the door. We know what's going on.

I don't mean to paint an unrealistic picture. You can't make everyone be a sober person and I recognize that. What goes on before and after they get through the door is their business in their private lives. But I mostly saw a lot of adults drinking really expensive booze.

Anyhow, my review is:

this was the best event louisville or any city in our region has had in a long time. House ain't giving up. Deep Blue ain't giving up. Hushabye ain't giving up. And felix the housecat DAMN WELL ain't giving up...

part on wayne. party on garth.

ummm, well how should i say this..... i had a fucking blast at this party clowning on people, but i will have to say that a good part of my enjoyment discredits much of the "non-candy" statements here.

felix da house cat was off the chain...dur make me nut.

assault is mr. ghetto tech as always... ass, titties, ass and titties

and um well you get the point.... the music and sound was on point

um, hot girls everywhere like ryan noted..... *drools* i need southern belles at my next event....

wow, jon owens drives like a fucking nut job, but i still accomplished the mission w/ precission.

even for someone who more or less cant stand house, i had a blast flyering at this event. i wish the deepblue crew the best of luck and cant wait to host you kids in bloomington for reid, annalyze, and submerge 101 (where i will probably be bitching about some crackheads in the hallway...lol).

we have or at least had a ton of kids coming up... dont fuck that up with your mouth...

my mouth cuts off at that point.... granted my mouth also likes to go cross other line and offend the ones you "love".... but lets play the quiet game geeky

but still

there was very little candy for that kind of a party... and if they werent there at all what the fuck would we be mean too? hot girls... i think not

every one come up... including the hot girls... i had fun dancing to house music outside of chicago for once...

and as far as the e goes... there were like 3 e dealers i know mia sat... so everyone was nice and drunk... no roley poley cuddle puddles in sight...

i think you might have humped my leg alittle to some oif assaults ghetto tech... or at least one of your hot friends... next time... youll get a rare propper introduction out of me... a leg humping... and maybe if your really really lucky... a pretty smile...

Not to sound negative, but what kind of mission are you guys on? What is so wrong with experimenting with mind altering substances from time to time? I watched a group of punk rockers go through a faze (circa 1987-1990) where a small group of them went around preaching "straight edge" bullshit. Everybody knows that people go to clubs to get fucked up, listen to music and dance. Rave was founded on such idealisms and this wont ever change because music is "ear candy", and a good light show is "eye candy". What really irks me more than anything is a bunch of old school ravers running around putting the newbys down for the same things that the old schoolers were doing four, five, six, . . . . years ago. I say let the young be young. They have the right to experience certain things for themselves without having hypocrites put them down. Anyway, peace out to 4[] and the Deep Blue crew. I spun the best Hardhouse/Hardtrance set this past weekend at Axis. I would have come to @ but the cow patty monsters were chasing me around downtown for hours after my set. Nate, you should consider signing me. The proof is in the pudding and I have a whole bowl. And don't believe all the bullshit you hear about me. It's all a bunch of hater bullshit because I chose to host Afterhours at Club X for 4 years.

^^^^^ill have to agree. i dont think theres anything wrong wit gettin down. older scenesters should definetly be more understanding and tolerant.

my review :)

I'm finally up and functioning again, so i guess it's review time, eh?

wow.

1) What a fine night of music here in the 'ville.
Our hometown heros blew the place apart and confirmed what many of us already knew... that they fucking rock!
Foursquare- holy mother of gawd. chicago watch out!
Booth- holy shit... i haven't seen you play like that in years...welcome back.
Foursqare and Booth- you are the anchors of our current house scene in Louisville and I can't begin to tell you both how proud i am of you and how honored i am to call you friends. you amaze me.
Brian Neckel- wow. i totally understand now why you've been so excited. your set was well worth the wait and makes me impatient to wait to hear you again. PUT IT ON A CD. i want it. seriously... ask toni- it was 3:30 in the morning, i was totally exhausted and still hollered 'till my voice cracked-then kept hollerin'.
Chris Stump- i was listenin' from the door... your breaks are dope, your time is coming. keep up the good work. <3
Tim Black - dude, i was so stuck at the door, but i've heard that you were great... we'll hafta get you in the main room sometime so i can hear ;)
Jon Owens, Child of the Beat- i didn't get to catch any of you guys, but i saw sweaty people coming outta the VIP area, so you must've done something right :)

Outtatownahs-
Felix- totally rocked it and was a super nice guy to boot. we were lucky to have him here and honored that he loved out city so much.
Assault - while he's no stranger to the ville, I hear he played a killer set.
Dizzy - i only caught the end, but thanks for keeping the energy up right 'till the end. you were great to work with...thanks.
Tim Fusion - rounding out the chi-town/Louisville connection, this guy is the bomb. sorry i missed your set, thanks for coming down.

2)What a finnnne crowd we had there.
Thanks to everyone who came out... it was you and your willingness to have a good time that made the party feel as good as it did. The DJ plays a record and sends a vibe. you all sent it back x 10. the DJ built on it and sent it right back. the walls were crawling and it was because you all and your love.
Special shout outs:
My old crew: Damon, henry, steve, ogre, tadpole (wtf?!) it was soooooo good to see you. we were missing was serenity, eh? curtis- where were you?
Evansville! It's official, no party is a party without y'all. come anytime, stay longer next time. (Your shoes looked comfy) thanks for helping make the most of my dancin' time. hugs, hugs, hugs.
Ryan: the puppies miss you and can't wait for you to come back. thanks for not getting uber-trashed too :)
Wunderkind! Happy birthday man- maybe we'll talk next time :)
DECIBEL!! dude, we lost you but it was awesome to FINALLY meet you... you are welcomed to the hushabye house ANYTIME and i hopw to see you again REAL soon. you're awesome!
Cincinnati Ryan, nelson, (was that gerrut with you?) pat, missy, heather, brian.
Saint Louis: Holler to our sister city... so glad you could make it!
Nashvegas: I knew you couldn't stay away!
Lexington: NateFX and crew: you should just move here. really.
'Pimps: Melissa, topher, Amy, Rad, kendra, josh, nicole, michelle, JJ, everyone... thanks for being our support network!

3) We totally did it, guys!
Nate- thank you, thank you, thank you for your vision. without you this doesn't exist. you're the bomb.

DEEP BLUE Crew: Ben, Terry, Brian, Ron, Alex, Chuck, AJ, Head, Pwns, Tim, Sam, Breeves, Jshell, Yogi, Chris, Tim, Autumn, Manda, Tuesday, DJ and Jesse, Ill Bill, Nimbus, Hood, Staebler:

Thank you for your hours. Thank you for your sore arms and backs from moving equipment. thank you for climbing ladders, cutting a bazillion circles out of gels, making flags and running to walmart to buy candles at 5 am. Thank you for finding babysitters and for standing at the door (or even outside the door) with me in the cold. thanks for gritting your teeth and bearing it on more than one occaision. thank you to the significant others for letting us borrow your boyfriends/girlfriends/wives/husbands/partners. thank you for letting me be a part of this awesome team that does amazing things on a regular basis. thank you for being my friends. bless you for being my family.

The moral of the story is THANK YOU! It takes DJs AND Party Kids AND production crew to do what we did. we are each crucial and therefore should each take credit for what we created....which is an incredible night full of memories that none of us is soon to forget.

Love you all,
Lindz

since some people try real hard to be bigger haters than me...

HOW MANY CANDY KIDS WERE THERE FRIDAY???

I counted about 5-7 that were blatent enough for me to remember wanting to kick...

some one is convinced there were a bunch of rolly polly kids there...

where as for once i didnt have to tell a bunch of kids that plur come out of my dick and there is only one way to get it out.... i did have to tell a girl candy causes uterine cancer and that ferries die when you give seabreezes.... but there was minimal cuddle puddle bs which drives me the most insane... so im contesting that was one of the most lacking of lowerclass ravertrash events that was dope that ive been too...

so holla and tell me how right i am... so this duche finds something else to bitch about...

Who's bitchin? Just bangin! Anyway, our basement is finished (finally) and I shoulde have the new studio up and running in the next few weeks. Totally wired for surround sound! Erin wants to throw a party and have a few choice DJ's spin. Anyone interested drop me a PM.

let's quit talking about it, ryan. we were there and we know better....geekster just can't believe that we really are family.

vicious- yeah, people get fucked up. i'm not hatin' on it. all i've ever asked is that people be responsible and not give anyone any reason to shut a party down- whether it be drunken assholes yellin' in the streets or rollerbabies in puddles when the firemarshal strolls through. this party was great, people were overwhelmingly responsible and we're thrilled to have thrown it.

let's get back to the part where people are happy and looking forward to the next party :)

fo shizz... i wish i could make the next deep blue...

but ill deff be down for some hushabye...

i was actually pretty fuckin wasted... not a half gallon of wine falling over drunk and remembering very little kind of wasted like last time (btw... i still say thats my most charming)...
