Everybody knows that people go to clubs to get fucked up, listen to music and dance. Rave was founded on such idealisms and this wont ever change because music is "ear candy", and a good light show is "eye candy". What really irks me more than anything is a bunch of old school ravers running around putting the newbys down for the same things that the old schoolers were doing four, five, six, . . . . years ago. I say let the young be young. They have the right to experience certain things for themselves without having hypocrites put them down.

I don't think anyone has a problem with people who use drugs responsibly. But it's when people get out of control and negatively affect everyone else's time that people get upset about it.

And I don't think it makes you a hypocrite when you try to influence people with your experiences. If they were telling people to not take e, or wear candy, and then proceeded to do just that, then they would be hypocrites. The definition is different then how you used it.

Also, I go to a club to listen to music and dance, but getting fucked up inhibits that experience, so please don't speak for me or a majority of other people who were not fucked up on saturday.

I don't know you personally and am not hating on you, so don't flame. Just trying some intelligent discussion. Tell me what you think.

As a side note, I am a hard trance/house DJ, we should get together and throw down some time when you got the studio open or something.

Ol' School Lou!

Seems like everyone had a great time. It was good to party in Lou. again. It's been way too long. Saw some friends from the good ol' days. From back when "Sparks" was the place to hang out. ;-) Got to hang with friends I haven't seen in a while. Nate, Dustin, Kylei and my new friend Jen.. I love you guys.

Felix rocked it!! And DJ Assult was seriously off the hook!! I wore a path in the hallway going back and forth to hear them both. And, WOW, what a change when you go from hearing "ass and titties" to "the beautiful people". DJ Booth... I love you, always have... from way back in the "sparks" days! You totally rocked it ol' school style. Dizzy was flawless and spun a great set.

It was a great night and good to not see "oodles of noodles" all over the place. I don't think the "roly poly's" made it all that obvious. Or maybe I was just a little too drunk and dancing to notice? ;-)~

Not to sound negative, but what kind of mission are you guys on? What is so wrong with experimenting with mind altering substances from time to time? I watched a group of punk rockers go through a faze (circa 1987-1990) where a small group of them went around preaching "straight edge" bullshit. Anyway, peace out to 4[] and the Deep Blue crew. I spun the best Hardhouse/Hardtrance set this past weekend at Axis. I would have come to @ but the cow patty monsters were chasing me around downtown for hours after my set. Nate, you should consider signing me. The proof is in the pudding and I have a whole bowl. And don't believe all the bullshit you hear about me. It's all a bunch of hater bullshit because I chose to host Afterhours at Club X for 4 years.

2 things...

Light shows... are FUCKING BAD!... i didnt give them at parties when i was a newby and that is not the eye candy of a rave...

and if you would take your pill craming finger out of your ass for a second... youd realize the eye candy at a party is the hot sweaty people dancing... thats what you should be watching rather than trying to blow your roll up... get drunk and watch the hot people dance... and if youre fugly keep your happy ass in the corner and watch from a distance cause you prally smell bad and will creep out all the hot girls with your glazed over rolly stare and annoying blinky ass lights/glowsticks on a string...

club x was a crack din for rolly kids and they will listen to as many train wrecks as you can give them... especially when it is the nasty genera's around hard house and hard trance? i think some better taste is in order to be on deep blue... i cant speak for your skill but im sure its mediocre as fuck if you spun at club x or axis or what ever you call a violation of a crack house law in louisville....

Whoa whoa whoa.....!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

That's really fucked up...just because someone spun at Club X doesn't mean that their skill is mediocre. I mean I can say that some people's skills there might have been and still is, but I personally know two very determined and BOMB ASS DJs that come outta the Club X cracks so I think that you need to rethink what that shitty ass comment. Deep Blue has NO MEDIOCRE Djs! Everyone in that group is the shit...including the two who got their wee start in Club X.

Club X was a place where people went to do drugs, not listen to music so it's not like anyone who was there cared whether it was good or not. But just cause someone spun there does not mean that they are bad.

So if you wanna see mediocre ex-Club X DJs, I think you need to come to Elektrik Kurrency in the Ville on the 12th and find out the truth.

Yeah Ryan that was a bit out of line. If you want to flame on people, then please take it to private messages. Sid wasn't hating on anybody, so please don't hate on him. It's true. Two of the most dedicated DJs I have got their start in Club X. I may not always appreciate the STYLE of music that they play, but that doesn't mean that they are not talented. Different people like different music. Our goal here at Deep Blue is to rep any form of music, so long as it is repped proper. As far as that goes, make sure to come check out Elektrik Kurrency at Tailgater's on March 12, and Deekline and Keith MacKenzie at @mosphere on March 18. And keep an eye out for June 4..... something MASSIVE this way comes....

can't wait for electrik kurrency.

though i am kinda shitty that certain ppl got so bent out of shape for a simple observation concerning the rolly pollies i witnessed with my own two eyes.

i even said then that i wasnt really hating on l'ville.

but the fact that three people felt the need to report my posts to the mods really says something for you. why are you so afraid of someone making a simple observation? what good has censorship ever provided? and, how are you gonna try to deny my observations of drug use on a forum that is dedicated to the intelligent discussion of drugs?

like i said, i really get the impression that you are afraid some dirty little secret is about to be leaked.

as for me denying the "family vibe", im not. nowhere did i say that l'ville didnt operate as a family.... i just said that there were other factors included in that vibe.

now pull your panties out of your camel toe, bc you threw a dope event, but i refuse to candy-coat my opinion of anything whether it be public or private and am gonna say my honest perception as loudly and as often as i want.

before everyone jumps up in arms again, i want to reitterate that i had a blast kicking it in louisville at the party and the after-party. for the most part, i was thoroughly impressed and envious of you kids for maintaining a strong image of what EDM culture can be. i honestly hope to see nearly everyone from l'ville show up on bloomington on april 2nd to show the kids here how to bring the massive back to IN.

yeah... now i'm bitter again.

i first met and got accquainted with deep blue, mostly produkdiv tantrumz, at club x.. and definately true i was not there to listen to the music... but to be an x kid and have a good time... but what other way than that to learn to appreciate the music. i don't really know anyone who started listening to the music just because they thought it was good. it was because of club x and its ability to be a crack house with beginner dj's who wanted people to learn HOW to appreciate the music. i'd really like to hear some of your shit... aah, its probably no good at all... so nevermind on that comment.

and i'll leave it at that that if you really want to recognize the talent that they have picked up just from STARTING at club x, come see them play... you'll see they weren't x material in the first place... they were WAY too good for it.

:p

Geek-
I have no problem with anything you said and not only that, but I felt that you said what you did in a constructive fashion. I hope your above comments were not directed at me. Whoever reported you to the admins for what you said is an idiot. I agree that candy and glow and idiots did not belong at that show. I personally told the few (3 or 4) people there who DID have a bunch of roll EFX that they could either put their toys away or have them taken away. With exception of those couple of etards I felt that we did a pretty good job of keeping the party mature and, at least on the surface, drug free. Obviously we can't stop people from partying, and in fact we encourage it, but there is a responsible and respectful way to do your drugs and a cracked out, annoying way to do your drugs. I think the annoyance was kept to a minimum. I'm glad you had such a good time and I'm looking forward to having you and your friends back to our events in the future. Introduce yourself next time! I'd love to meet the skinny fucker everybody hates :p

Riah I appreciate your support of Deep Blue and PT, but to say that drugs are the only way to learn to appreciate EDM is insolent. I started listening to and appreciating electronic music long before I EVER experimented with hallucinogenic substances. There seems to be an ideal in this town that you go to the club to do drugs, and the music is secondary. I.E. the music is only there to enhance your drug experience. This couldn't be more wrong. Rave culture started around the music. Due to the free spirits of the individuals supporting and creating said music, drugs became popular to enhance the listening and dancing experience, not the other way around. The few sad times I DID go to Club X, not a single kid there could tell me what genre of music was currently being played, let alone who the artist was or any other information pertinent to the scene. Everybody had it all wrong. Nobody knew why they were doing what they were doing. All they knew is that they could get drugs there and ingest them in a (supposedly) non-consequential environment. And that is the antithesis of what I believe in and what my company stands for. You don't have to wave glowsticks in your face to enjoy fat fucking beats. I'm not against it, do whatever gets your rocks off, just don't ruin my good time and the good time of people who don't appreciate dust masks and vicks and blinking pacifiers with how cracked out you are. There is a time and place for everything. Do it with friends who are into the same thing in the safety, comfort, and privacy of your own home and you will never, ever hear me or any of my people bitch about it.
