is there anything you ALWAYS WANTED TO KNOW?

regarding the camera thin: the cameras take 3 photo's, one after the other, hence if there is more than one car shown and the difference between the cars changes from the 1st to last photo, then you can determin which car was going fastest. havent u ever noticed that the cam's flash goes off 3 times? trust me it isn't red eye reduction:P

it's all to do with the magic of the centrifugal forcees at work! :)

lack of centripetal force
centrifugal force is a non-existant myth introduced to you by your local government trying to keep the truth a secret

Yes, i have another stupid question

How far do u reckon a helium balloon can stay afloat in the air (say if u let go of it) before it comes back down or pops??

I always wondered this when my helium balloons would fly away from me. You look at it and it gets smaller and smaller till u can't see it

Balloons are kinda porous. They leak. You might notice this if you use and reuse balloons for nangs - they'll eventually develop little pinprick sized holes which grow to unpatchable monsters. We've lost plenty of rather expensive giant balloons due to this.
Basically, seeing as the helium inside the balloon is at a higher pressure (hence inflating the balloon - equal pressure would be where the balloon is at rest) it will slowly seep out and the balloon will deflate. It will stop rising when the mass of the balloon is greater than the difference in the mass caused by using helium instead of air.
Or when it pops, whichever comes first.

I'd say 5-20hrs is a decent estimate. Depends on the quality of the balloon and how inflated it was.
Weather balloons last a fair bit longer than that, but then again, they cost a fair bit more too

I reckon it would pop before that happens. I reckon it'd reach a point in the atmosphere where the air is less dense, hence the balloon increases in volume to the point where the rubbers structural intergrity is lacking and the balloon pops before sufficient helium leaks out enough to keep it from such a height. Then again, they may just float to the moon.

I want to know who shot JFK. I want to know the answers to antything any world government has the answers to but won't release to the public. I'd like to know what resides at Area 51.

I heard that if you're driving past a fixed speeding camera and you're going under that speed limit, and another car drives past that is actually speeding, and the camera takes the shot, and your car and the other car are both in the shot, no one gets fined, because they can't determine who was speeding.

Is it true?

No as far as im aware its not true. i was booked once doing 72 in a 60 zone on the Pacific Highway. It was a pain because it was coming into a 100 zone and i sped up too early.

But i went to the Ferguson centre to have a look at the photo and they place a laminex sheet over the photo. The laminex sheet has lines and areas which correlate to the information that the camera takes. The photo itself has markers up the top which indicate speed direction of the vehical in question. They can determine which lane, what direction, how fast etc...etc..

Why can't they show that dentist from the ORAL B ads face on TV??

It's ethically unsound for doctors (or dentists) to use their professional reputation to endorse products for monetary gain. This sort of thing is policed by the state dental and medical registration boards. Having said this, the rules on this type of thing have become a little unclear in recent years... plenty of doctors now advertise themselves aggressively and "recommend" products...

Why do alot of Americans hate trance so much? (especially those in the midwest LOL)

How do they get the triple stripe tootpaste into the tube without the colours getting smooshed together?

Why do i always sneeze about 15 times in the shower?

Why do we have to watch regional versions of programming instead of metro? is it just so I can't watch Frasier?

In regards to the toothpaste;

They squirt it in there, both colours at the same time, in different sides of the tube. Because of the consistancy of them, they stay seperated, even when the toothpaste tube is scrunched up, so you always get the stripes on it . You will find though, if you REALLY scrunch it up, you will mix the two consistencies, and get no stripes

why am I posting a question about a question that I never did "always want to know" in a thread about anything "I always wanted to know".

hmm why do I hate going to sleep so much?

oh and doof-kittie, maybe you sneeze because your allergic to something in the soap, shampoo or bathroom. I sneeze at least 5 times when I wake up because there are some things that im allergic to that i can't be bothered avoiding because its incovenient... like milk :(

don't you hate it how once you smoosh something like a toothpaste tube up, there is no way of unsmooshing it :( The tube is really wrinkly and the colours are never the same

Same with play-doh! i was forever destroying my play-doh as a kid, i ended up with a dozen different shades of brown (sounds like a good title for a book)

i want to know why it's more fun (generally - think sand castles and lego here) to destroy something you've built than it is to build it. same goes for why it's more fun to mess up a room than to clean it.

there is actually a thin tube inside the toothpaste tube that keeps the colours seperate, you can mix the colours a little bit near the top of the tube but not all the way down.

Its quite funny cause I only read that last week, while on teaching rounds trying to teach explanation text.
