Having just driven from Melborne to Sydney can anyone tell me why no matter how quickly you approach someone in the left lane, the minute you pull out to overake the fuckers they will automatically speed up.:X
 
It's probably because when they notice you pull out to overtake them they snap out of their daze and realise they were going so slow. And so then they try to get back to the speed limit, which results in you having to do about 130 to get past them without hitting oncoming traffic.

Speeding up when being overtaken is actually against the law - I wonder what would happen if you were done for speeding because you had to pass someone who put their foot down? Could you get out of the fine claiming that you had no choice but to speed up (because cars were heading towards you or something)? They might say you should have slowed down, but what if you were already 3/4 past them when they started speeding up?
 
Just thought of another one (Chopper being on tonight reminded me).

Where exactly was Bojangles Nightclub? I've hunted around google but the best I found was St Kilda. I'm curious to know exactly where it was, what happened to it (ie: was it pulled down, or does the building still stand), and what's at that address now?
 
^^^ afaik (and don't quote me - it's just a very vague recollection from someone - who once used to frequent the place - telling me), it was just at the beginning of acland street, but kinda close to the beach, if that makes sense at all. at the very least on the beach side.

and damn, pleo, you reminded me - i missed the "neville fucking bartos" scene on chopper. shit.

Hey the other day i was just wodnerign why the police are called the Five O. Where did this come from?
 
I'm sure the older ones amoungst us would remember a tv series a long time ago called Hawii 5-0. Hawii was were the series was located, and 5-0 is because it's the 50th state of America.
 
When breathing, you sometimes smell things. The whole air into the nose thing you know? :D
