Insomniacs out there? what do you take?

With just the Ambien, Valium, and Xanax I'd take one of each, but I'd chew the Valium and take it sublingually. Personally, a fat shot of dope does the trick, and maybe a 5 mg valium under the tongue.

Clonazepam and Melatonin. It literally kills me. And I sleep very well, no REM like thanks to the Clonazepam and the Melatonin its like a rock in my mind telling me to go to sleep.

if you want to sleep like a fucking baby for 12 hours without waking up, take 4mg of Xanax, 70mg of Valium, 15mg of K-pins, take them with one beer, dont take it all at once tho.

Trust me, you will sleep so good.
don't take this advice, please noone take this advice.
15 mg klonopin?! and alchohol and ambien, and valium. as someone else said this is supposed to be a harm reduction site, noone should ever take 15 mgs of clonazepam, ever.
take care...

Quel

If you can't sleep and you have the ability to get some, buy seroquel. You only need about 25mg to be out in about 15min and you can sleep as long as you want. However, if you do use it I would recommend setting multiple alarm clocks to wake up. It is often used off label as a sedative rather than as an anti-psychotic for schizophrenia and bipolar disorder.

Ambien is amazing; not only is it recreational, it puts you out. If you let it, meaning you lie down and try to sleep a half hour or so after taking it (they instruct you to within 5 minutes or something). Perhaps the delay is because I snort it for increased effect. Amazing drug, my 2nd favorite to opiates and I'm an insomniac.

Don't fuck with melatonin or it will fuck with you. Benadryl leaves a hangover. Unisom only sorta works.

Or just take valium + xanax. Be a rebel.

here are my ratings for meds i've used (prescribed or doc. recommended) for my daily insomnia recently.... 10/10 is best.....

1.0/10 - trazadone (hated the stuff, felt horrible in the AM)

1.5/10 - zyprexa (knocks me out but too many other side effects and groggy the next morning not to mention i sleep for 16-18hrs after taking 2.5mg of the stuff)

1.5/10 - flexeril (2.5-5mg helps relax my muscles and can help with insomnia somewhat)

2.0/10 - benadryl (12.5-50mg taken occasionally can help but the side effects tend to be uncomfortable the next AM after a high dose 75mg+)

2.5/10 - alcohol (helps me fall asleep but the quality of sleep is fair to poor)

3.0/10 - klonopin (3 years of klonopin Rx'd + tolerance make klon useless for me)

3.5/10 - librium (more sedating than klonopin but not a great benzo or sleep-aid)

5.0/10 - ativan (4-6mg can help insomnia but ativan tolerance builds VERY quickly for me and has kind of an empty feeling unlike xanax or valium)

5.5/10 - xanax (1.5-3.0mg can knock me out and give me a solid nights sleep but xanax W/D's are hell and not worth taking it more than once in a blue moon)

5.5/10 - ambien (my second favorite Z-drug, 10-30mg gives a nice benzo-like relaxing sedation, helps me fall asleep but doesnt help me stay asleep as much)

6.5/10 - excercise (long walk during the day, running, working out, etc - definitely a key aspect in getting insomnia relief without a doubt)

6.5/10 - sonata (my favorite sleep aid, sniffing 10mg can relax me, but i need to take 20-40mg to fall asleep and stay asleep, but its a solid medicine)

7.0/10 - cannabis (indica dominant strains of course, always gives me a good nights sleep and no hangover/groggy feeling in the AM)

7.5/10 - valium (works wonders for relaxing body/mind/muscles and provides a great nights sleep and is the best anxiety med i've ever been Rx'd)

9.0/10 - valium + cannabis + sonata... (5-15mg valium + 10-30mg sonata, my favorite insomnia cocktail, and adding a beer is always nice, but not too much)

^^^ I've been on a Librium prescription for some time now to taper down my benzo dose, and it does work but it takes a few days to build up and delivers a more pronounced effect. Downside is that you're sedated 24/7. But why haven't you tried any hypnotics if you're an insomniac? If you think Valium works well, you should try some real hypnotics like Normison or Loramet or even better, Rohypnol, too sleep the whole night. Or Dormicum or Dormonoct to knock you out if you have problems falling asleep.

Is there any nasty metallic taste as with Zopiclone?
If not I may give it a shot. It is apparently prescribed in the UK

^^ i'm on suboxone , and most doctors dont like prescription the REALLY strong hypnotic benzos to opiate addicts or general drug addicts... at least in my experiences... but i've never really abused benzos in my life... but i'm thinking about asking to try temazepam or even going back on ambien or sonata... i think the mix of ambien/sonata + valium would work well... i just have a feeling theres no way i'm going to be Rx'd temazepam or halcion or rohypnol in addition to my focalin + suboxone + valium scripts.... but maybe i'm wrong... i'll let you know, next doc appointment is tuesday march 4.

NOT AT ALL!! i love sniffing sonata's !!! it's not the best drug i've ever insuffilated but by no means is it bad tasting or unpleasant (Even the drip). however its not the most sedating drug i've ever taken... for example i've sniffed 4 or 5 of the 10mg capsules at once in addition to 2-3mg of klonopin and a few beers and STILL don't even yawn let alone fall asleep :\ but it is relaxing as fuck! and the first night you use it you may fall asleep.... only downside to sonata (zaleplon) is when taken on a stomach with any contents it seems to make it not have any effect, or VERY little, so insuffilation bypasses that IME's

I discovered codeine recently. Makes me sleep well.

Best combo: codeine + indica. Very good nights, nice dreams and always fit in the morning (even if it's quite a short night).

I use ambiam 20mg TO GO TO SLEEP but five hours later I awake.

tried the doxylamine witch takes a whille to get to sleep but I get a good sleep on in.

1 ambiam and 2 doxyamine seems to work realy well at getting to sleep then haveing a deceint sleep

lol! "Lets say u had a clean day."

i gotta love that.

3 12.5 mg Ambien CRs and a 25mg doxylamine succinate tab (Unisom)

Antihistamines all tend to be either too weak to help me fall asleep, or too sedating and long acting to be of any use. Benzo's are way more favourable since the dose needed to help you fall asleep is lower than the dose which acts sedating, so it's much more efficient as a hypnotic.

Trazadone
NOTHING has ever come close to kicking my ass and knocking me out as trazadone. No benzo, Opiate, or any tranq

QFT. Trazadone with Zopiclone has been the best treatment for my insomnia so far. Zero recreational potential with that combo but it actually works for me.

My friend is bi-polar and uses Etomine. I asked my doc for some and he told me I'm not crazy enough for him to give it to me, lol, he says they could use that stuff as an "elephant tranquilizer". He said he'd give it to me as a last resort.

I think pretty much every possible combo has been covered here:)

I personally find Seroquel the absolute best. It is the only thing that knocks me out while in opiate w/d.

However, at 50 and looking from this thread I have to say that my experience has been that most of these ideas are

a)unsustainable (especially if you are a teenager) in the long run

b) the piper always demands payment and withdrawal from opiates/benzos/hypnotics/antiepileptics are fucking absolutely terrible. Take it from one who knows (yeah right!) or not.

Good luck. if you really need something try and stay away from the physically addictive stuff. Flexeril, Amitriptyline (both tricyclics) or low dose antipsychotics ((Seroquel). Personally I hate Trazadone but some people like it or Mirtazapine (both antidepressants)..neither worked for me.
