Yeah I'm kinda fucked right now I was on a shooting coke/plugging mph binge and haven't slept anything for a few days. And now I'm on 4mg alprazolam, 1mg flunitrazepam, booze and 5mg of resperidone. To see if I can get some sleep. So yes I'm sorry if I was rude I think I didn't interpret your post correctly, we're all good. I'm glad that you appreciated the technical information. I'm off to crash on my bed now.
laterz :)
haha get some good rest man =D

Embrace insomnia, do not fear it.

Best advice ever regarding insomnia for myself. I learned to come to peace and learn to live with it, rather than against it. All of the sudden my life became much less stressful.

All medications have their own slew of problems, and give you false hope only to crush your hopes.

The way I look at it is like this: When someone has no arm or leg, they don't go around trying to find a cure or whatever, they learn to live with it and change their lifestyle around it. I do the same thing, I just learn to live with it.
only insomnia can be fixed and, well, ya just don't see that so much with missing limbs :\

man, i'd love to be able to do that. I'm normally a mellow kinda person. but this no sleep for a couple of weeks shit is turning me into a fucking bitch! So, I'm gonna go to my doc, see what he recomends, etc. But, incase he can't do anything/the new meds don't do anything, how do you suggest I become one w/ insomnia? ;) man, that's gonna suck, cause all my drug-using life i've never even liked the way stimulants make me feel, ie: I'd rather just be all mellow and shit and oh, never mind this post is going nowhere fast, I'm just too fucking tired to for a sentence that makes sense:!

but, thanks for the different outlook on it, Theodore Roosevelt, if I can't work things out I might be looking for you to teach me to embrace my insomnia! =D

ya'll wish me luck at the doc...

Missing a limb is not a disorder or disease. Thats just stupid. When someone is missing an arm or leg they usually get a prosthetic one or use a wheelchair, they don't just flop around on the ground like a fish embracing handicappedness.

Medications give people false hope? Maybe they give YOU false hope but thats a subjective opinion that really has no merit.

Embrace an ailment that has specific known causes and a wide variety of treatments?

That just sounds like negligence

I try to embrace it, but when sleep is one of your only pleasures, it sucks. Even more so after a few days. If your an all around happy stress-free person, then I don't see why not sleeping would be a problem, it would be great. I assume most people don't sleep because they are anxious and it just adds up when you don't sleep, but still embracing it is a lot better then sitting in bed all night thinking.

LOL =D

Well when I try to swim I look like a human embracing handicappedness that's for sure.

But fish in water look rather content with their lack of limb endowment by mother nature, maybe TheodoreRoosevelt has evolved to embrace his insomnia like fish, cause if they sleep they sink and die :!

Old thread, I know but I figured I'd chime in as a fellow insomniac. I used to take Ambien (non-CR) and it worked for a while but now I take one Cyclobenzaprine along with a 5mg Melatonin when I really need to catch up on sleep and that keeps me out for a good 12 or so hours. Not 100% sure how the two combine but I haven't noticed any horrible side effects of any kind... sorta odd remedy though and you can't get prescribed Cyclobenzaprine for sleep.

ya cyclobenzaprene (flexerall <sp?>, 'cyclones') is a muscle relaxant. No recreational potential, well none more than something like benadryl lol. But those are good for sleep I agree, actually they're fantastic for sleep if you're up due to any stimulants or shit like that (not so much fantastic on their own, I meant that more in terms of adding with other stuff, like a cyclone with a bar of xanax or something). I have noticed they have a stronger morning leftover effect than others but it's not really a 'bad' effect, like I can notice it more but it's not so much groggy or annoying, I just can tell I took them.

What is an OTC that you can buy to help you sleep? Cuz I personally dont take pills but would like something easily accesiably...like right now, to sleep til I gotta go to work. Sleep is for the weak though....so whatever. I'll just go play some COD4...hahah...great game.

I'm prescribed flexeral for an accident I was involved in. They semi help when coming off drugs. Like you said, its a muscle relaxer...it just relaxes you and helps the mind from wondering. I'm all out right now :(

But on a normal day, pop a 10mg flexeral or two of em and you'll sleep like a baby....atleast I do. Idk...again, I dont like pills.

Benedryl, it's generic diphenhydramine. Anti-histamine.

Cold relief aisle/allergy aisle.

Sleep is for the weak, until you've been up for days and feel like a bubble

Xanax 2mgs per night, and I still wake up during the night..........................

went to the doc yesterday, with my list of hypnotic benzos (most that had been mentioned on here), anyway, being the complete type-A I am when it comes to pills, I looked em all up on Wiki. A lot of them weren't available in the US :X But I came up w/ a few that I wanted to ask my doc about. (For the record, I know some docs would freak the fuck out if a patient came in with all this info printed up about different drugs they thought could help them, but my doc is fucking awesome, not at all like those others). Anyway, a couple (mainly Seroquil) were allready out - used seroquil a few years ago and it made me put on a shit load of weight. I'd been taking 3 mgs of xanax a night plus a few benadryls and not sleeping more than a couple of hours. could fall asleep fine, i'd be up w/in a coupl of hours. (oh, also would take 3 mgs of xanax throughout the day (spread out) so it didn't seem to be doing much anymore. Anyway, my doc suggested a lateral switch to clonopin; I've taken kpin before, until about a year ago when i switched to xan. My doc wants me to give the klon about a week, and if I'm not sleeping he said (okay, I made him promise8) ) we'd look into some of the hypnotic benzos. so, wasn't really expecting much from the k-pin. Slept like a fucking baby!!!=D woohoo!

also, switched the day-time pill to clonopin.

hey, BingalPaws, isn't that ^ kinda what you suggested;) ? Shoulda just listened to you, woulda been cheaper! kidding. Thanks again BLrs for all the info!

how do you not like pills?

what a biggoted statement...

a pill is the safest, purest, and best way to package drugs nowadays, even if you dont consume it orally...

i think i see what you might be getting at with that statement, but EVERYTHING is best in pill form IMO/IME.

you know what youre getting, from speed to oxycontin. how is that bad, honestly? is it something against oral consumption?
