IN, Indianapolis - THURSDAYS @ CT Peppers (Starts 12.09.04)

CT Peppers night has been moved to Thursdays...Our first Thursday will be one week after Thanksgiving on DECEMBER 9th...can't wait!!...there is gonna be one hella hot tag team between Seth and Serendipity on our first thursday....for all you out there who know what we are about, you know that this is definately worth checking out....and for those who are not yet acquainted, we invite you to come experience a taste of what we like to call TRIBAL :)

ok, so i have some questions...what does "tribal" and "tribal house" mean?....does this include, or is it separate from "tech house" or "progressive house" or "deep house" ? are you open to varying genres of house, or are you strictly "tribal"?.....is tribal inclusive or exclusive?........i am constantly conflicted with and tormented by the world around me, will "tribal" house help to alleviate my woes and heal my wounds, or am i destined for a life of complete regret and misery?.....thanks!.......can't wait to see you guys rock out on thursday!!!!!!!!!....yeah!!!!!!!!!!!!!!...............peace
 
tribalness

Tribe as in the collective of people we all create. Often similar beliefs and interests, of which includes many different types of music, but still a shared, central connection through the music, dancing, and of course each other. tribal in the sense that we all share the same kind of "religion," if you will, but more accurately spirituallity. Together we have the ability to create a circle of energy with the music, dancing, and each other that benifits the whole...a higher state of conciousness. This is our family, our people, often times the one's we are able to completely be FREE with. A solid foundation built on people who understand and communicate with each other, sharing ideas, exploring opportunities and opinions, the ones we grow and share with, the people with whom we feel inspiration. The people with whom we EVOLVE. It is this foundation, this collective of people that create the tribal essence of it all. Through various forms of music we express ourselves...and through various forms of music we elevate each other.

???? i heard a whole lotta hippieness in that statement, but lil to answer the man's question.

my understanding of tribal as adjective for music has been that is based more around organic drum samples like conga drums and shit.

but, i am not a musician, just a listener.
 
ummm...I will be playing music with a lot of tribal elements like the conga drums you speak of, but not everybody who plays will. There will be many musical genres featured, all contributing to the tribal collective of people who participate...you don't have to be listening to "tribal house" or whatever to have a tribe EXPERIENCE with others who enjoy, participate, and help create the kind of environment that so many of us love through elevating electronic music. I hope that answers more acurately. Personally, I will for sure be throwing down the spiritual tribal house music that I ADORE, because thats how I choose to spread the "positive side of truth" that I so strongly believe in...everybody has different styles and other artists play different music to communicate, to create energy...We are all here and doing this for the same reasons...because we love it. Plain and simple. Purpose. Life. Experience. Collective. Inspiration. Growth. Change. Tribe.

healing powers

oh, and Mr. Show...I cannot emphasize enough that this music once upon a time healed me, healed my heart, by soul, my mind, it breathed new life into me at such a crucial point...I truly feel like it saved my life, I completely understand the healing powers this music possess when executed correctly...it has given me so much and it is very important to me that I give back what I have learned to in turn heal others, inspire others, it has filled me with a tremendous desire and passion to help free others the same way I was freed...if you are troubled in any way, if you need to let go, find something new, or just find something anything that makes some kind of sense amongst all the confusion life can supply, than we will help you. This crew is made up of some of the most wonderful, pure people I have ever encountered...I've never known people who were so caring, giving, loving, nurturing, and focused. very INCLUSIVE, accepting of all, Determined to make a change. We look forward to seeing you on thursday! I want to talk to you more about some things at that time. You will soon see more clearly what I am talking about. ;)

all this hippie speak about the soul makes me want to avoid these events like the fucking plague...

"lets all love each other!"....yea fucking right.

but once again, you manage to ramble on for paragraphs and fail to make a real statement other than "we are the world." (which we arent.)
 
well love can be taken on many different levels.

Acceptance & tolerance is probably the first step...and I'd say for the MOST part we aim to do that in this scene. And when there is a group of people dancing and losing themselves on the dancefloor, this is where it can happen, that 'love'. That sharing of the experience with others and being open and free to express your excitement and joy without fear of judgement by those around.
It does create a connection when we dance together (not in a meat-head grinding kind of way) freely and openly. It is spiritual and mental.

I can also attest to 'this music saving lives'. I've seen the positive influence of this music turn people's lives around...and it's because their perspective changed, not necessarily their life. Positive reinforcement grants positive reactions, and outlooks.

I wouldn't let these viewpoints expressed scare people away...it's not really any different, just that someone has expressed their view on what this music, dancing, scene is to one person in the crowd. It differs from person to person for sure, and that's fine. It's all part of the grand mix.

ummm...you lost me there....I never referred to a "meat-head grinding" and please if ANYONE can show me where mentioned this "meat-head grinding" in any of my posts, I really need to know where because I have no recollection of typing these things! Short-term memory? Not this time. I know I only have been speaking of my spiritual beliefs, and how strongly I believe in the individuals who are at the center of the COLLECTIVE, in which I have strong belief in. I have been blessed with having many strong, positive, true people enter my life...you can stick to whatever thoughts about "meat-head" grinding that keeps you satisfied...my thoughts are going to continue to be with the people who I share similar powerful beliefs with, positive energy, DANCING, the ritual, UNITY, acceptance...the people I know who choose to be each others family...lifting people up, not putting people down. you get what you give in this world...positive, or negative? the choice seems pretty obvious to me...

Lost in the Duality

Let's not fuse "Tribal House" with "Tribal Lifestyle". I mean...... you can beat that drum and shake that shaker, and it may sound like a wonderful Ewok Celebration..... but thats just sound.... nothing more. Now associatively, it is easier to identify with a tribal essence, hearing sounds that we associate with tribes, etc..... but I havent seen many spears and pottery lately. Now with that said......... I'll be pragmatic as possible.

A tribe is formed when many form as one, sharing the functions of existance, maximizing the extent by which objectives are achieved. It's another word for "organization" or "Clan" or "Gang"... etc... each having it's connotations..... but behind the words... are the concepts. When you move to ritual....... thats when you begin to dip into a spiritual realm really, rituals are used as a tuning device.... where all can come together by having a common focus, by which the members lend their existance to a particular commion cause or belief, and further, have submitted their selves in full to the nature of this cause or belief unconditionaly.

Now back in a primative era, life depended on finding ones place where they opperate on the maximum level, via trade or craft, perhaps wisdom or perception. In either case, the concept is a symbiotic model of existance.

So, it becomes spiritual at the moment it becomes a platform of existance. But as a genre, it's all in the name, if it sounds like there might be sounds similar to those that we imagine a tribe to have the ability to produce..... it's probobly tribal house.... long as it fits the criteria of "House" ............ which is a can of worms by it's self.

Music is the basis of all life, so if it's, simply put,....about the music.... then it's about life........ Peaceful Life, Loving Life, Unified Life, and Respect of Life, continuous of course..... like a spool of thread .... with no end of course.................................. "Step N2 Your LIFE!"

Bottom line..... sacrifice of self....... not so much who has the best tracks, or the biggest turn out, or the sweetest demo, or the coolest candy......... or even the largest bar tab....... but rather...... the self asked question being tended........ "Am I giving the most I can give in respect to what I have to offer this union, and how can I enhance my gifts.... to yield optimal resaults?" a statment that one can only offer up to their selves for review....... so I leave you with this.

some may say my ideas, thoughts, (sometimes even babble or jibberish) are lofty and/or abstract, and a lot of times they are...SO WHAT! I am an artist, through music, through poetry, even through communication. I type what comes out of my heart at that particular moment. My intention would never be to "scare" anyone with my ideas, if anything, it should make you feel more comfortable to express your viewpoint (chances are you probably can't get your head more in the clouds than me!)...and if you can, GOOD FOR YOU! everybody is different, and I challange anyone and everyone to BE THEMSELVES, celebrate the things that make you unique! If anyone was wierded out by any of my above posts, that was never my intention. Simply my Expression of My personal beliefs.
We are still allowed as people with free-will to have our own thoughts and ideas, aren't we? Cause there are a few people in quite the "tizzy" over my words, as if there were some new rule demanding you to conform or be judged. Please tell me FREE-WILL hasn't been taken away...
Even if you don't have your head in the same cloud as me, it doesn't matter. express yourself, BE TRUE TO YOURSELF, and if other people don't "get it," oh well. you can choose to BE FREE

why we are here...

taking a moment to get back to the matter at hand....this thursday DECEMBER 9th...looking forward seeing everybody, music will be awesome, and there's lots of room to dance...perfect combination! have a few drinks, hang out w/ friends (or meet some new ones), get your groove on...wonderful remedy for releasing stress. and no stress from having to pay to get in cause THERE IS NO COVER...SWEET! gonna be a good nite

not lofty, just nonsensical.... and serve no purpose in describing the aesthetics of music
 
Just because people seem to get a deeper meaning out of something then you doesn't mean there is anything wrong with it. I can completely understand her point because there are times where the music has had a transcendental effect on me too, though not to the degree it has for her. Sometimes it is best to close your eyes and let the music speak to you.

Nothing hippy dippy about it, just a different and more spiritual take on life.
