We still love ya in the Fort Chris.And I would say a lot of the frustration is due to jungle/dubstep/dnb not having an outlet in this city other than Tuesday nights... we opened up the door to other genres, but now it seems a lot of the line ups have become more focused on house and techno.
Us junglists only get to hear a small amount of our music in this city compared to house and the like... so when we get marginalized and basically left out of our own night, there tends to be frustration.
Especially from those of us who are signed producers and are taking this to a level of career and not just hobby/fun thing to do... yet repeatedly get overlooked in Indy.
It's demoralizing sometimes
And lets not act like a large part of the four on the floor crew isn't quick to hate on anything with a two step beat and some real bass.
But it's whatever... 'cause Juxtapoze is still the hottest weekly in indy EDM!

Everybody has music they like and don't like. It's impossible to please everyone. I appreciate multi-genre lineups because I like hearing new things and like seeing new faces. I, of course, am most likely to come out to hear my favorite genres (just like anyone), like tech house, chicago house, techno, etc.
sideTrack events at Tru and at Therapy always had drum & bass and breaks DJs on the bills. G-9, Bang Tech 12, etc have done that as well. House & techno do get booked more overall because there's more DJs in those genres and more people that come to see those genres. It's not like break beats are a victim, it's supply & demand. Nawwwmeannn?
Increase that demand by opening your social circle, showing off what's new, getting people interested, etc. Having multiple genres is certainly a good step in that direction, though you still can't make people fist-pump to music they aren't into.
Can someone in here please raise their hand and say "I hate real bass."

I don't know anyone that "hates on" break beats or "real bass". The phrase "real bass" doesn't really put forward a positive message anyway - by saying that you're passively putting down other genres. Be positive! That's All State's stand.
Rebecca has played here like 3-4 times in the last year, right? I think she even did her own events downtown at Blu a few times in the past couple years. She doesn't live here, so when she gets here it's more of a 'treat', amiright? I know we brought her in August and she played at Juxt last month [or the month before?] and upcoming again this month. Seems like she's picking up steam to me(although to be totally honest, I still haven't seen her because I was playing in the other room or she played past my bedtime).

I was simply referring to bass lines that actually have notes and melodies and hit under 60 hz... and not just bass kicks and mid range bass lines.
To me (being the key phrase at play) the requirements for a real bass line are notes/melodies and an under 60 hz rating
And like Fleck said... yes, dnb and bass music get play in other clubs and with other promoters... but you can bet it'll be opening or close... certainly not an 11:00 or 12:00 slot.
And that's a general statement, before the rants start. Sometimes dnb/jungle/dubstep/bass gets a more optimal time slot... but for the most part... you can count on an opening slot.

But whatever. We're gonna keep doing what we do. I'm not a big fan of most four to the floor music... (AC/DC included)... but I'm not involved in this night to hear specifically what I want to hear.
It's about bringing massive vibes and good times to the heads who really appreciate the music and get down for the get down.
And if that's not acceptable....
then I don't know.... But I know we'll keep pulling a gang of people out on Tuesday nights to have a good time and listen to good music regardless of style or whatever.
