Stimulants i was hooked on methamphetamines for 3 years

thanks for your info sweet p, your definately right 100% right. Try and stay off it bro, it ruins lives, also lol at the money i was allways broke also worst feeling in the world. Changing the people you hang arround with and deleting dealers numbers helps, thats what i done and now iv been drug free for a while. Its a bit wierd my drug addiction, I actually started off using extacy then smoking speed then moved on too meth, normally people start off by smoking weed but i never actually smoked it, most people find this kinda wierd, because weed is considered by many the gateway drug but in my case it wasnt even in the picture anyway keep fighting on sweet p you can do it! :)

Hah, the first drug I took to get high was something amphetamine-ish(I have no idea what it was).

As far as loosing weight, if you haven't already gotten enough advice, here's my bit!:

Have food around that is healthy and filling, and have your meals planned out ahead of time(also being healthy and filling). It seems like most people don't do this, and end up snacking on unhealthy foods all day, and if you're doing that then you will never lose weight.

Also as far as endurance workouts, if your main goal is to lose weight, than going at a slower pace for a longer duration will make more of the calories you burn fat calories. People like Lance Armstrong and the guy who won like 7 Iron Mans do this to train instead of just killing themselves every workout(like they had before being so good. This also makes it so when you do need to go your hardest(as in, in a race), you are able to do better than if you had been going as hard as you could every workout leading up to it). Google it!
The hardest part of eating better and of working out is getting into a good routine, once you're in it it's not very hard at all!
Good luck!

Jojo,

I think that Adderall is a great option, a pill you can take orally, in order to prevent a relapse on methamphetamine.

I would go to your doctor and explain the symptoms, whatever you feel you need it to help with.

Adderall might have a negative impact, like meth, but it has a greater chance to not induce psychosis, as you wouldn't be increasing the dose, you wouldn't be abusing the meds, etc.

I hope everything works out for you Jojo!

if you exercise and lower your calorie intake you are bound to lost weight...unless you fall into the very minuscule percentage of people who have a metabolic disease where its hard for them to lose weight...but its usually genetic...I knew one person like that, everyone else was fat because they ate too much

exercise, lower your calorie intake, eat healthy stuff...you'll lose the weight and feel so good you won't need the stims. Also, stims are a short term solution only. After a while of expecting your body to perform miracles on no fuel, it starts to shut down. Even high doses don't do the trick anymore. The only way to feel your best for a long time is taking care of your body well. There is no other way. Can't trick mother nature, at least not for long, it will catch up with you real fast.

eat regularly, don't starve yourself so your body doesn't go into starvation mode and hound fat

lets hope my doctor will think so, im going too beg him it will be the best treatment, i know for a fact life will be better on this medication and then i wont feel the need to use drugs, lets hope too god that he will agree with me please if your up thier.

If this doesn't work, they may suggest you get testing for ADHD, etc. So, you can go to someone who can help you with that. With a diagnosis, it is easier to get treatment. :)

Either way I hope it works out for you Jojo, I think responsible amounts of Adderall is a great alternative to meth, and there should be amphetamine maintenance just like ORT.

Take care!

Jojo, any weight you lose while starving yourself on amphetamines will come right back on as soon as you stop using them. Your metabolism will be incredibly slow and it will be much much harder to lose weight then than it would be now.
If you're struggling this much, you MUST have what you're eating planned out ahead of time. There are some things you just shouldn't eat or drink if you want to lose weight, like fried foods, soda, sugary foods, very salty of greasy foods.. And just as important as that, you must be being active, it raises your metabolism, which is what you need. Certain foods raise your metabolism much more than others, like oatmeal(almost all carb though, if you're trying to avoid carbs..), and other foods take your body more calories to burn than there are calories in that food(like broccoli. If it takes your body more calories to burn than the food has than you're burning calories by eating it, AND it is raising your metabolism). Not sure if it does it as much as broccoli, but celery tastes much better and is easier to eat.

Keep trying before going on amphetamines again, they're just a bad way to lose weight and keep it off(and for people like me, if you're not eating on any amount of amphetamines, you feel like shit the end of every day).

Last thing I'll add(I had a fat friend who had trouble dieting do this, and he said it worked amazingly)... When you're trying to kill hunger, spicy foods will kill that! It's not the nicest feeling thing but I had him chomp habanero peppers down if it was a time he shouldn't be eating much :)

good luck!

Jojo,

I think that Adderall is a great option, a pill you can take orally, in order to prevent a relapse on methamphetamine.

this is a horrible idea! i'm not sure why you would recommend this to a former meth addict. he could wind up trading one addiction for the other and could DEFINITELY still experience psychosis. using adderall for weight loss could also lead to a rapid tolerance buildup.
this suggestion just blows my mind.!!

at this point of you go back on meth I would definately put you in my idiot file.

dont mean to offend.. but anyone who has been on this hellish drug and kicked the habit already, and knows of its horrible potential for death and nastiness... why the hell would u even consider getting back on it?

I would rather weight 900 pounds than look like a methhead that I have seen on many occasions

im more looking down the line of considering meds that will help me out, meds is my best solution, i wont be getting back on meth but, if he doesnt let me take some sort of meds for my symptoms i dont know what the hell im going to do, so for now im just going too wait till my next appointment and see how it goes from there, wish me luck :D PS (thanks for all your support and reply's) i love this site id probebly be back on meth right now if it wasnt for this sight so many people's opinions made a big difference to my thoughts thanks very much everyone...

I was hooked on meth for 3 years, i decided too qiut because of the psychosis, I was smoking it once a week, half a gram a week, i was woundering was it mostly because of me not ever taking downers (sleeping pills) too sleep or was it totally drug induced (the psychosis), i was staying up for about 3 or 4 days a week, i was trying too loose weight also so i would go the whole 3 or 4 days without anything but coffee. Iv now been drug free for 1 and a half years, also woundering if i went back on would i get the same symptoms back.

cheers would love your feedback.

jojo87 :)
IF you use again,

PLEASE eat and sleep :)

your psychosis will not be as much of a problem, until you find yourself really overdoing the meth. sleep is a very major factor for psychosis

if you do it once a week, yes your psychotic symptoms will *eventually* return even if you get that sleep. but the sleep would keep it off for a long while

don't do it once a week again though... if you get back into that behavioral pattern, you may not get out

about amphet maintenance... if you have ADHD, yeah.

if it's just for weight loss, you're in for more of an up-down-up-down ride. the not eating exacerbates psychotic symptoms, and you don't want to experience those again (the more you do, the more you set yourself up for a possible permanent psychosis, iirc). the lack of sleep quality would be the biggest thing (taking adderal everyday will effect sleep quality, even if you don't take any after noon)

the amphet will raise your metabolism and burn off the fat and kill your appetite.. but the rebound (symptoms of cessation) will lower the metabolism and make you gain even more weight than you lost. another up-down-up-down scenario

if you do get on the med, it will have to be in a long term, daily, non-abuseable style... aka take your pills as the doctor tells you to

maybe you should do some research before you go see the doc. i don't think you have ADHD though, i think you wanted a quick fix to lose some weight, in which case you should just get some diet pills or decide to change your diet/lifestyle. losing weight on rx stimulants has the same result as losing weight on meth... when you stop using you're just going to gain all the weight back. and i'm curious as to how you know nothing about ADD/ADHD? it's been a big thing for a while now.

I was wondering if you were fighting with your weight before you had a meth addiction?

yes i have been fighting my weight problem over 7 years, while i was addicted i was only a lean 79kg well after one years use , before my addiction i was about 96kg and now that iv qiut its been one year and a half so far and im now 114kg so iv gained a fair bit but it was a good 3 years of feeling good about my weight the only time in my whole life i felt what it was like too be normal weight and wear nice cloths and have a chance with those hot chics too me it was worth it but i payed for it with my psychosis...

How'd the appointment go?

And how active are you/what's your diet anyways? Not eating isn't a smart thing and if you're expecting to loose weight you almost have to be active, both a good diet and being active are only hard the first few days. Dropping things like soda is the easiest part.

well i had my appointment and the answers were no no no, they just wont understand but anyway iv moved on now iv started too take this new weight loss coffee its called greencoffee 800 its absolutely amazing my appetite has gone less then half of what it used too be and my energy is up thier again and it feels like im on amphetamines all day its incredible and its working im finally loosing some weight i think in 9 months i will be were i want too be with respect too my weight and iv realised that most of my drug use was from confidence and that was from being over weight so now that im solving my weight problem i can now move on in my life thats pretty much the update so far but for some reason i have a feeling that im going too come across some bumps in the road so i will keep you all posted thank you for reading :D
