I hate waiting for the postman.

Um, Ireland?

Don't forget that the teas we drink with milk over here are entirely different blends to the ones drunk overseas. A cup of English Breakfast is essentially made to be drunk with milk.

yeah im including Ireland as part of the UK, allthough it is obviously an independent nation they seem to share a lot of Brittish cultural things. Any type of tea tastes much better without milk imo, provided that you remove the tea bag more or less immediately.

ive visted France several times, and usually got asked if i wanted milk with it (i was presuming that was because they knew of typical English preferences) but was once served tea with no milk in a cafe, and i couldnt be arsed making a fuss about it, im now glad that i didnt.

I love the Karak Tea - Black tea, Cardamom, condensed milk (or a lot of sugar) <3.

Is nice <3 Reminds me I need to get more. Usually have it with brown sugar. I don't drink tea with milk unless it's Yorkshire tea or summat or if someone else is making it. I am a big tea snob and have a depressingly huge collection of it at home.

When I lived in spain I use to drink a 'cor tardo' which was a shot of coffee with condensed milk (some time milk if they ran out) in a small galss - lots of sugar mmmmm

^^ Yeah that's the stuff - always get it when I go to this argentinian place. Don't normally bother with coffee, but it really settles your stomach after a load of meat.

i wonder if they take it the Brittish way; with milk. Since visiting contries where it is not custmary to serve tea with milk i have discovered that it is far nicer without, and my taste buds adjusted immeditely and tea now tastes disgusting with added milk. Why are we one of those slightly bonkers countries who do things in a different way to most of the rest of the world, it woulnt be so bad if we did these things for improvements sake. 8)

Depends what kind of tea you're drinking really. I've probably got 10-15 types knocking around at any one time and lots of them are preferable to my palette with milk in. I'm not about to start whacking it in vintage pu'er though.

I don't think milk with tea is necessarily a case of poor taste it's just that the blends that have become popular in this country are nicer with milk....and yeah I'm pretty sure we get it from the Indians who make chai masala with the tea brewed directly in to the milk.

It's the other way around. The British introduced tea to India - it was cheaper to grow it in a colony than import it from China. Adding milk is a British custom Indians adopted.

It's funny as its super popular in the Middle East - loads of little tea shops, they bring the tea to you in your car on a tray and its about 15p a cup :D. When its really hot outside, a cup of really sweet tea helps.

It's exciting but at the same time nervous as hell waiting for the (cleared customs ) status on your tracking

I've had really delayed post before, I thought it wasn't going to show up then arrived like three weeks later.

In three weeks' time I might've moved. Either to a new flat or to a prison cell, having taken out my rage on some poor bastard.

I'm joking about the flat. I've not found one yet.

Heh, good luck with the flat if you're staying in the same area ish. Took us about 4 months to find one with the right budget/location.
