I snorted my suboxone once and it did fuck all for me besides burning my sinuses, I wasted a dose. I've also tried shooting it, and though it didn't precip WDs, it didn't really give me much either compared to taking it the normal way. Injecting it sure as hell was inferior to subutex. I know everyone's all like "BA this and in theory that", but in terms of personal experience as a long term (8 years plus) bupe user, I see no advantage to snorting it.
Same here.
I'm surprised to hear that everyone has such a bad time with sniffing subs. I was on them for about 2 years and the only time I didn't sniff them was during the first week when I had to take my dose at the clinic. 4mgs up my nose would hold me for the day while it took 8mgs sublingually. They didn't seem to mess with my sinuses any more so than my usual opiates(oxymorphone/codone & morphine)
If you're using it for maintenance and it's in your system all the time due to it I think it's hard to feel a difference between the intranasal and sublingual ROAs. Here is my analogy; If an alcoholic drinks beers everyday and is constantly drunk, substituting a glass of wine (large enough for it to be equal to a little more than a beer) in place of a beer isn't going to make a difference to him, and he probably wouldn't be able to notice anything if the wine was masked with the taste of beer or something.
I take 8mg daily(pills). I briefly had a look g
Here n saw all these comment. Thank you. I'm reducing off sub in Dex but while I'm on it would like to get high off it once. So i can feel ace again n not feel any negative stuff.

IME the only way to get an alright high from suboxone is to take 2-3 days off (or however long it takes to be in decent withdrawals). The ROA has little to do with it at that point since it's not that much higher when sniffing it compared to oral, so it's not worth the hassle especially due to its ceiling dose. My tolerance is too high to get high from suboxone, but the best buzz' I have felt came when I took 2mg sublingually, and then another 2mg sublingually every 4-6 hours, maxing out at 6mg. I stopped at that dose because IME I didn't feel any additional positive effects when I dosed above 6mg. I tried that experiment a few times, and each time the first 3 2mg pieces got me a buzz, but the 4th didn't do anything. That seems to be pretty common among suboxone users.
Correct me if I am wrong but isn't the reason for taking subs is to keep you from getting high well part of the reason.
While I agree with you, I would still rather a person try to abuse their suboxone once in a while rather than going back to shooting dope or something. Having said that, the OP was prescribed it for a codeine addiction which is pretty shocking considering how much more potent bupe is than codeine, and how much worse the WD's may be probably even with a proper taper.
1mg of suboxone = 400mg of codeine, although the ceiling dose of suboxone makes most of the 'positive' feelings stop increasing after 6mg, which in theory is like 2400mg of codeine. It may be hard to believe since a lot of people gradually work up to doses of 6-8mg of suboxone unless they had big habits (like 250mg of oxycodone or 4 bags of heroin a day), and since suboxones long half-life has it in your system all the time it raises your tolerance a lot more than you realize. I found this out after trying to get high a few months after stopping suboxone. 60mg of oxycodone had me feeling alright the first time I took it after 3 months off suboxone, but after that I needed 90mg of it to feel an alright high. With morphine I was able to take 200mg easily, and 300mg had me nodding but I could handle it alright.
I mostly agree with that chart since it has 1mg suboxone (referred to as buprenorphine on the chart) = to 20-25mg of oxycodone, which seems accurate IMO. However, as the ceiling dose implies it's not like 16mg of suboxone would be equal to 320-400mg of oxycodone. If the ceiling is more like 6mg then that would be like 120-150mg of oxycodone which I once again find to be accurate.
Yes. I was in relapse mode when I made this thread. I want to get high once before I give it all up for good. I'm going to 6mg in December. It's made some bad choices this year will be glad to see the back of it. Feel like everything's spinning out of control n I'm powerless to stop it. Time to admit defeat I'm a weak person
Read up on peoples process tapering off of suboxone before you do it. A lot of people find it relatively easy until they get below 2mg, so if you want to shorten the amount of time on suboxone which may make the final withdrawal a little easier than you may want to consider dropping down to 2mg quicker, and then taking the remainder of the taper very slow.
If you were to take a few days off of suboxone and wait until you are a little sick then 4mg should definitely hold you, and that would give you a head-start on things. Of course I'm no doctor and am just going by my personal experience as well as those that I have read on here, which in some cases may be more than some doctors know about it.
