Fortehlulz; what course of action would you recommend for police harrassment?
Walking in to the local police station and filing a complaing would be less than ideal.
I'm in a small town, and the cops must get pretty bored. 2 of my mates are under the spotlight at the moment. Both have never had more than personal amounts in their posession.
Mate number 1 had his car searched (without consent) 12-18 months ago. His car was parked in the main street while he was shopping. He heard from a girl who saw it that 6 men in Blue Police overalls shimmied his car open and tore it to shreds. Of course, they didn't find anything.
He wasn't there when it happened, so not really much he could do about it.
I don't think there has been anything since then, but the last couple of months the piggies have started to annoy Mate number 1 and Mate number 2.
Mate number 2 was driving his car with mate number 1 in the passenger seat. Cops pulled them over, said something along the lines of "we have reason to believe there is drugs in the car". My mates (and the car) were searched and again, nothing was found.
my mates said the cops looked visually frustrated and dissapointed when they finished the search and didn't find anything. The cops then checked license and registration, and booked my mate for his car registration running out a few days before. The cops told them to leave the vehicle where it is, and that they could pick it up tomorrow.
Tomorrow comes by, and mate Number 2 goes to pick up his car. Only problem is the license plates are gone. Mate number 2 goes to the police station to see what is going on and they tell him he can't drive without number plates, and it's not their problem. Mate number 2 comes back the day after and a competent (and non corrupt) policewomen is working. After another 24 hours she works her magic and arranges for the number plates to be placed back on the car.
A few weeks ago mate number 1 was pulled over and searched while a passanger in one of his mate's vehicles. Again, nothing was found.
I'm really disheartened by the law enforcement in my town. Most of the higher ranking officers (especially detectives) are either current drug users (and not just a bit of weed), ex-drug users, or on the payroll.
It's a little annoying when you have cops wasting your time. Is there really anything that can be done apart from lodging a complaint at the local police station?
