How long have some of you guys been tripping?

19 years, going on 20 for me. I am not going to write my psychedelic drug history as it would be a huge post and I have posted about it a lot before. I have never taken MDMA, MDA, disassociative drug, or any research chemicals as I have no desire to take any MDXX drug, and no desire to take a disassociative drug.

Thankfully garbage research chemicals were not around or sold as acid in my teen years and very early 20s.

Just out of curiosity, a question to the American members.

Many of you seem to have been very young when you first took psychedelics. 14-16 years. That's insanely young to me. Especially when dealing with psychedelics. I took my first drug, MDMA, when I was 18. And even that's borderline now in hindsight.

Was LSD so readily available that it was easy to obtain? Was the motive to try psychedelics curiosity? Or is the culture there more tolerant towards psychedelics in general?

I was 16 when I first took an extremely high dose of LSD. It was so common that people were giving it away for free which is how I first got some. If you wanted to buy it it did not even cost nearly what it goes for now. Also you did not have to worry about any garbage research chemicals.

I was curious about psychedelic drugs, mushrooms interested me more but the psychedelic ones do not grow where I grew up in the United States and acid at the time was a lot less expensive and easier to get as shrooms sold out fast and there was so much acid I thought it would always be easy to find. I know some people grow their own shrooms, but that was not an option. I later tried mushrooms at 18 and had a ++++ experience.

I guess the jamband culture like the grateful dead, phish, Allman brothers band, etc. That I literally grew up in as my mom loved the Allmans, dead, etc. but did not use drugs, the dead/phish scenes both socially and at concerts was extremely tolerant but I only would drink at shows in low amounts or maybe at very rare times take a hit off of a joint or bowl being passed around, but I went to shows like this for the music. I have never been to a rave, electrónic music festival, etc. I did go to a lot of shows for the bands I mentioned. I never toured, or did an entire tour as I am not rich and you get bored seeing and hearing the same music and bands that much, that close together, and that often. The bands loved my area so I would go see them when they frequently played in my area multiple times a year, or travel to other nearby cities or states to see them, gasoline and ticket were extremely cheap, and my friends and I would save up money to go to as,many shows as we could during the fall, Winter, spring, and summer taking small vacation too. Coincidentally I also attended a university where these bands loved to play shows.

Taking drugs at shows was the last thing on my mind when I go to shows and I was never a wook or person that would go to shows mainly to get spun or high on drugs, buy drugs, etc.

I consider myself to be extremely fortunate and lucky that I was able to experience this, and that I was at the right place at the right time.

Yes.

Yes.

Totally depends on what circles you run with. For me, I happened to be surrounded by a fairly liberal culture. My mom was a typical Deadhead and dropped plenty of acid in her day. My friends in high school came from similar families.

I don't regret starting at 14 one bit. If I had a 14 year old son who expressed an interest in psychedelics I would be proud, although I wouldn't want him using very strong doses.

What empathogen did you take? MDMA?

I dont know what it was. I tested it on all five regeant tests and tested out good. It was supposed to be 5-mapb, it was definately an empathogeon, turned instant black and even smoked and on other tests tested out like green and blue, and simons a and b turned blue. Moreover, starting on day two afterwards to day nine I had severe sides. emotional, crying out of the blue, I passed out hitting my head as i fell now cooking, low blood sugar, dizzy, I thought i was going to die and told my mom what I did and that if I die I love her and my dad and that im in a good place if I pass away. I ended up going to my doctor and telling him. Didnd treally solve anything but I guess psychologically I felt better going to him. he did blood-work

I was fine the day after then I took a bunch of supplements as I was taking a herbal sleep supplement with passion flower in it. I think it was maybe the 5-htp and super high ecgc content as super high egcg make 5-htp super more potent. Either that or passion flower or both. I ended up throwing out the three grams of what was supposed to be 5-mapb out but while on it it was fantasic and I can say that is the one time I 110% got the magic back.

Furthermore, When I take something I always watch what supplements I take before and after for at least three says afterwards, bc just bc its over the counter doesnt mean its safe obviously and due to this bad side effect experience Im cautious. Ive done ecstasy pills thirty times and never had anything like this.

20+ years.

Me too. I think I tripped the first time on mushrooms in '95, I must have been 20'ish. Took a lot of LSD and ecstacy in Goa the year after, mostly LSD though. Bought my first RC in 2001, which was 2CI.

I never lost the magic or the interest to collect and try new compounds, but I find it more and more difficult to find the time to trip, and I definitely don't do it as often as I used to.

Interesting thread! :)

I am male in the early 30s, about 16 years of tripping experience. More than 500 LSD trips, about 20 experiences with mushrooms, mescaline and DMT and countless experiences with various RC's. It comes and goes in waves for me - there are times in my life when I use psychs quite a lot, weekly or even daily, but there are times when I would not use anything for months. I would always "listen" carefully to what my body "says" about each experience so I can remember and categorize it in my head.

I use psychedelics as books sometimes - depending on the mood and aspirations I'd pick some for every activity, especially during summer months! %)

For those readers who are 20 years of age and younger, I'd suggest to take it slow and easy with psychedelics, I believe there's still mind and ego formation going on at this time, so don't mess it up with improperly done trips! And always read information about the chemical you are about to enjoy! ;)

My first trip (PCP) took place when I was 19, back in '88. The second and third trips (shrooms) were in '89. The fourth one (ditto) was in '91. I then waited until 2001 for my fifth and sixth trips (LSD). Ten years after that, I began a proper exploration of psychedelics and have since consumed over fifty such substances. 2012 and 2013 were particularly intense, seeing a test about once a week. These days, I trip about once per month.

Are you as experimental as you used to be? I guess your recent DOx (forgot which) experiments is suggestive. Do you try new compounds at the same rate as your earlier period?

Not quite as much, there are areas I wouldn't touch too (which may not have been true before), but like, I'd like to try pretty much all of the 4-sub-tryptamines, of which there are many new ones recently. I'd try most lysergamides that could come my way.

Don't worry about losing the magic. If you end up using too much too quickly, and develop a tolerance, you should be able to reset it by taking a break for a few months. Just keep in mind that the whole point of tripping is therapy. It's medicine. That's why it's fun.

Well I must say that during my big overuse period of 2.5 years, I developed such a permantolerance I could take shit tons of psychedelics and not get much in the way of profound effects, ever. I took 1.5 years off and tried again and I still had a huge tolerance. 1.5 more years and it seemed relatively back to normal but as I've gone on with reasonable use it's finally gotten back to normal. Took a long time.

Hi. My first encounter with a full fledged psychedelic (as opposed to DXM, lol) was when i was 14. I was given NBOMe sold as acid .. lmao.. I liked the experience a lot and being naive figured it was the true experience. However it wasnt later on maybe 1 year and a half or so where I encountered a group of people working with bulk amounts of shrooms and growing them. I would pick up ounces of these and munch on them like some sort of snack all the time. Thats where i really got aquianted but i didnt yet meet my true love LSD. My first acid trip was so insightful and the visuals so beautiful and different than the shrooms i was used to and i also atleast for me personally felt like I could communicate my feelings emotions etc talk freely on LSD. LSD to me... is being myself but times a million. I was around 18 when i got really into L... 19 When i got REALLY into L ... having access to 99.99% pure and began ingesting everyday and integrating it into my life in a major way. 20 years old now. I slowed down what i was into .. i was living recklessly really in retrospect. but i still enjoy L once in awhile now as well as Ketamine. Looking back on it all I dont know if I would really change a thing tho I learned so much and they impacted my life in such a profound way. Hope this was helpful thanks

Twelve years. Started when I was fifteen and I'm twenty seven currently, male. I haven't lost my interest in novel psychedelics. There's some I would pass on, but the vast majority id at least try. The subtle differences in psychedelics are highly interesting to me! I've tripped many many times over the years. I don't trip as often but plan to change that this year. I spent a lot of time exploring many combinations of psychedelics to varying degrees. I've tried a plethora of psychedelics/dissociatives and I'm eternally grateful for this. I started young but that's okay. I think trying psychedelics when younger while possibly being not the greatest idea is something that can't really be reproduced reliably. Very carefree, little responsibility, being younger experiences are much more novel. I wouldn't change it. I was a pretty depressed teen before trying LSD. I know I wouldn't be the same person if I hadn't tried it when I did and that alone makes it worth it to me but I don't know if Id even be here now. The first time I had LSD was when my friend gifted it to me for saving his life when I called 911 because he was overdosing on fentanyl. That alone makes it special.

My first psychedelic trip was when I was 17 or 18 on 3.5 grams of Philosopher Stones that my buddies smuggled back from the Cannabis Cup because they looked like coffee beans..This was pre 911....

I'm 31--so I've been tripping basically half of my life to the point of eating LSD for months DAILY to now where I haven't found any psychedelics for almost 2 years...

been tripping for 12 years, since i first tried mushrooms at age 19, and LSD shortly after that. after a year or so, i found it harder to acquire classic psychedelics, so i tried my first RC (2ce) at age 23. for the past 8 years i have tripped somewhat frequently. i took 2ce too often at first, then i tried various other RCs, and was able to get LSD again. i've cooled off now, and trip less than 4 times per year for the last couple...and have only eaten LSD for the last 3 years or so.

after 2ce i tried 2cb, 4-aco-dmt, 25-i-nbome, 4-ho-mipt. that's about it for me. and DMT :)

First took mushrooms a couple of times when I was 18. Never had a true 'breakthrough trip', but we had some laughs. For some reason, I never really looked into psychedelics until I started using MDMA when I was 23, the first being 2C-I, which really impressed me and got me really interested in tripping again. Now I'm 28 years old and trip once every month or so, trying novel compounds once every 2 trips or so. My favourites being LSD/ALD-52/1P-LSD, 4-AcO-DMT and DOC out of the 20+ psychedelics substances I've tried.

1970, was the year I started dose's, in the San Francisco Bay Area Calif.
I would dose once or twice a month perhaps for the first 3 years or so. Although the first year was once every two weeks, (OUCH).

I then tapered off to 2 to 4 times a year until present. In the in-between times, I would dose Shrooms or Mescaline, 2 times a year.
Up until 10 years ago, I would slip in a few favorites RC's.
LSD is my staple, my to go brain reset buddy.

Is it a form of addiction? Maybe. I can do without it too. Not that first year though curiosity killed that cat in me LOL.

It has been 4 months now, family life has priority over my need to explore.
Family and responsibility to them, myself, is most important. and should be for everyone.

Namaste

I like the diversity of age and level of experience here. It's interesting that we have members who have been tripping since 1970!
