    Welcome Guest!

How fried is your brain from E? (Memory Loss)

I don't think low levels of seratonin causes Alzheimer's, but I think they compared the brains of ecstasy users and ppl with the disease and they were similar... the main difference is that if you take a break your levels should return to near-normal.

Of course this says nothing about how your memory functions. I've only been using for a little over a year, no more than once or twice a month on average, and I've noticed that I have trouble remembering words or names, every now and then. Also I've always been a fast speaker but I tend to stumble over words more now. Hmm... :\

stevie2k4 - There has never been any credible link shown to exist between MDMA usage and potential alzheimers. I'm not aware of even a theoretical reason for concern; as far as I'm aware MDMA does not damage the cholinergic system.

just with doing A-Levels in a week im thinking is there a point because i cant honestly remember, im going to try anyways obviously. even when i have to learn something it takes me ages like in my break dancing lessons i take the longest to learn, im not embarrassed by it maybe i should be i dunno but i hope we all get better memories one day somehow=D

WOW... am I just THAT odd or...

I smoke weed every day.. at least a gram,
drop pills every weekend,
drink >20 beers a week and eat mushrooms on occasion

I have a PERFECT memory! If u want to remember something or recall something, they're has to be a link with another action/object in order to remember it..
That's the way the brain works.. by previous connections..

If someone asks if i can bring a cd on (tomorrow) monday for example, when I wake up I think.. its monday.. monday > take cd

Get it? I'm sorry for my bad english..
Works for me.. it happens subcounsciously most of the time, so if u HAVE to remember something!

Just think u have to remember everything..

My memory has been poor from day 1. I think I just choose not to remember things because I'm usually down and dont want to bother with shitty memories. However my short term memory for numbers is excellent, but I hate maths.

Oh my....my memory is ahhhh...depeleting rather quickly, a lot of times I will be asked "so what did you do on friday?" and it will be a monday or tuesday and I'll totally have no idea unless I think incredibly hard about it8( Even then sometimes I can never get it without somebody else coming to my rescue...it sucks

Yes, you are the exception from the norm if you are putting that much stuff through your body and you've got no problems as a result.

Personally I wouldn't want to put that much crap through my system, even if it didn't effect my memory, it certainly would result in my general health dropping considerably due to poor calorie intake and little physical exercise 8(

My brain only feels fried when I do E every week (like I have been lately).

My memory was so bad tonight, I was talking to Rubadubduckie on the phone and would forget what I was saying mid-conversation!

Even with 5-HTP MDMA can still affect your memory. I used very heavily over a two week period and, despite taking 5-HTP every day, my brain wasn't quite back to normal for nearly two months after.

Well what could cause it besides the low serotonin levels? :\

I never really get that even though I'll be rolling all Sat night-Sunday.....

Tom stutters! =D

;)

Receptor downregulation? Just because you have ~normal serotonin levels doesn't mean your receptors have finished upregulating

My memory actually gets better after a roll. It's dies when I smoke marijuana though.

VelocideX.

All this talk about seretonin receptor downregulation and upregulation

I thought that was still just a theory, or rather that after the receptors have been bombared with excess amounts of seretonin and go down, that after time they will indeed come back up again

I remember viewing the dancesafe slidshow some time ago and that was just a theory. Has anything been confirmed of late?

I don't think there's any correlation. Mind you, alzheimers is something that occurs over time...like 50 years down the track. I'm interested to see the ecstacy generation when they hit their 70s.

**********************There Maybee some help for e related memory problems.........Several herbs eg. Ginseng Gotu Kola, Gingko Biloba have been found to increase mental capacity, memory etc. I dont know about you but i sure am gonna try to balance the effects of e use with chinese herbs..... Peace:)

Too many MDA pills completely destroyed all the work I had put into becoming more sociable and open, improving my self-image, and managing my anxiety/stress. After a 4-day binge my anxiety blew up and I spiraled into depression. 3 months later and I am a notably changed person from the beginning of the summer.

NOTE: ^^^Extremely stupid and self-destructive behavior. It was a slip and in retrospect I realize the error of my ways. Unfortunately you can't go back in time and I was to suffer the consequences.

Anyway...Short term memory? Yeah, that's about shot. Attention Span?...equivalent to a 3-year old. Speech patterns...stuttering and slurring anyone?...the list goes on and on.

This post is in the interest of harm reduction. Use MDMA/MDA IN MODERATION.

i had bad memory long before i started doing x... probably due to other drugs i was doing LOL. what was i talking about again?
