How did you get off your butt today?

I spent the last 5 days in Mexico...ran 12.3 miles on the treadmill, lifted weights with my husband, kayaked about 30 min on the ocean, walked about a mile on the beach, 60 min water aerobics class, (2) 45 minute Pilates classes. It was easy to eat paleo while on holiday. In the airport, was another story. I didn't gain a pound :)

I want a Garmin watch. Any suggestions?

My mom has this Garmin watch, she uses it for running and absolutely loves it. You're more into hiking/trail running so I would suggest one that records altitude as well as time like this one. However, I don't think you have to buy one specifically with an altimeter because the program that you download your run data to should keep track of that. The watch with the altimeter would just give you an instantaneous readout during your hike.

Thank you. I was looking at the 610 series. The 910 makes me think I should start training for a triathalon ;)

6.4 mile hike in the snow with the dog in 1:37 minutes. The dog slowed me down sniffing everything on the last mile but the hike was for him anyway so I didn't put him on the leash.

Pretty good gym session today:

5 minutes warm-up on the step machine
25 HIIT on the treadmill
15 minutes godawful stretching (am now about 1 inch closer to doing to splits than I was at the beginning of the month)
 
woke up at noon to drop for drug court. went shopping with my dad. then came home and did back, chest, and arm workouts. intensity level was high enough I threw up :P feelsgoodman. off to an NA meeting now to watch a friend celebrate 5 years clean.
 
You are making me feel shame L2R. My excuse is that it gets dark at 530p and I don't leave work til then.

i'm still fat as shit. the weight i thought i had lost seems to have come back. i fluctuate with a 2kg range day to day, hour to hour.

yesterday, i took a 55 min lunchtime walk, another after work as i killed time and walked to a distant movie theatre, and then after the film from there back to the train station. powerwalked all three.

i've always been a good walker. a few months back i drank way too much and got off the train early to be sick. ended up, in a haze, walking ten kilometres home.
 
Didn't do much today, might do some hula hooping (I try to do 15-20 minutes a day when I'm not doing any other exercise). Yesterday I did 7 hrs of dancing (clubbing). It's so cold outside, I can't even feel my legs when I'm walking home from the bus stop, no way could I exercise outside in this weather! I hate winter. I need to get back into the habit of doing exercise videos and whatnot.
 
legs day at the gym, so i doubt i will be hobbling any great distances for a few days. should be good for a weekend run.
 
Got up, did some massive cleaning in a room that used to be mine, went for a much needed 2 1/3 mile run then came back and finished some things in the room. Need to keep myself in the running mood - along with the vitamin regimen it's the best thing I got going for me right now.

Hell yeah, so many people disagree with me but if you workout to the point where you are sick/dying from pain, you get such a good endorphin release :)

I had an intense weight training sess, 50 minutes of back and bicep. I wanted to do cardio but forgot my running shoes and had to lift in my work shoes :/
 
^^ I lift in my casual shoes (some good ol classic chucks). good deadlifting shoes for real.

i got a barbell, dumbbells, and some iron today...now i can be one of those homos that walks around and says 'yeh, i lift bro'. im going to put up a mirror so i can look at myself while i flex asap.
