Yea I do take things seriously - and need to learn not to. I'm trying to but kinda went a bit backwards last week.

They do fear 'setting you off' as you take some things a bit to personal and its not good to get wound up over nothing -for your sake. You will be able to help even more people if you don't be so defensive all the time and get used to using that ignore tab :)

Thank you for telling me this. I only really listen to Alasdair, as he's good as giving advice and he's admin so I know he's not just saying stuff to be mean.
I don't want people to feel that way around me. I had no idea. In fact, I often feel that way, especially in real life. I just agree with anyone because I'm scared of confrontation.

How do you know this, darkinthepark? Have people said something to you?
No wonder staff won't let me be mod / BL Ambassador, which is a goal of mine, as most know (I'm not one to hide things like that).

I was scared of my bullies for years during childhood - I would hate for ANYONE to feel that way with me. I genuinely thought people were being mean with me so I reacted. I'm used to people hurt me or lying to me and crashing my world apart. I can't really say anything on here (drink or no drink) I've family and my daughter to consider!).

Darkinthepark, thank you for your honesty with me. It means a lot. And I appreciate it. I honestly had no idea.

No problem, nah nobody has said anything to me. Its just an observation from some of your heated posts (which there are a faor few). You would make a great mod if you were to not react to people and you brushed up on your drug knowledge, maybe get off the subutex so that you have the experience of that under your belt and would be able to help others and give advice to those going through the same thing. You are not a bully by the way but you can be quite aggressive when you react but by all means defend yourself but there is a line, or the option to ignore them (in 2 ways).

really??? you really think so???? I would love to be a mod, more than anything - and to help people. You think if I get off sub, that would help??? I'm frightened I'll go back to my old ways, I know I've had a drink. I've gone back down to 8 and I've started craving drink (I know that sub is not for alcohol but last time I was on 8 mg subs, I was a heavy drinker, went on A LOT of recovery sites; trolled them and got banned from THE LOT!) Can you see why I'm frightened????

I know I say I want to get off sub n talk the talk but if being a mod means I should be off suboxone I'm seriously a long way off being ready for that, although I've sent a few applications in, I'm so confused about suboxone. One day I feel I can do it, the next, I'm so frightened it's unreal.

It may have only been codeine I was addicted to but it really screwed my life over.... I think Owen has the right idea....

This is unfair. Alcohol drunk quickly makes me quite excitable and jokey... and yes sometimes this does make me come across as a bit of a twat.

I see EADD is an interactive pub sometimes. Quite fun to have a bottle of gin and natter with other drunks on here. Much cheaper than going out.

I'm not going to name names, there isn't a single culprit but there are quite a few nasty undertones around EADD the past month or so. What seems to have begun with differences in opinion & personality clashes seem to be getting a little nasty & camps seem to be forming.

I know there is a certain way in EADD & we like to prod, poke & take the piss out of each other but I think things are bordering on going too far. You wonder why people don't stop & post? That is why.

Let's keep in friendly(ish) folks! :)

Yea in some ways, chatative. But good thing about EADD is we argue like hell but next day we're all friends like nothing has ever happened. That's what I love about EADD - we're like one great big family here.

Yeah, it's what it looks like to people on the outside though. There is just a hint of nastiness amongst all the usual drama.

You're right. And I'm just as bad at times. We need to consider how the newcomers would see all of this.

I big up this this in New Members Intros but it's no good doing that if people get frightened off. I'm going to do my bit to try and be nicer from now on because I want the newcomers to feel welcome here, more than anything.

It's ace here... I've been to some not so nice forums and believe me EADD is like the friendliest place on earth in comparison.
I wouldn't stay here - or spent time bigging EADD up to the newbs in NMI if I didn't like it here. Yea we all have a good argument but it's all forgotten in a day or so n everything's all chilled out again.

I think that's because none of us are really in any position to go judging others for their actions, which on the whole tends to suppress any really negative feelings to one another. Also, if anyone does get out of line, we've always got the 'I'm sorry I was wankered' get out of jail free card to play. That's why I, too, love this site <3
