i always assumed i would spend the rest of my days alone because of this disease
i couldn't have a relationship with another user-that would be a dark and slippery slope
i couldn't put a disease like this on any normal person
so i guess that will make me a haggard old junkie all alone in this world

That doesn't have to be the case Kkattastic, just coz your not in a relationship now doesn't mean that you won't ever be, you always come across as a very caring person, so when the time comes when you might want to meet someone i'm sure you will.

Anyway being in a relationship is not the most important thing in life, good friends are the most important thing!! I didn't meet my bf till i was 30, & i was happy before i met him & i'm happy now. But addiction does make everything in life a little bit more difficult.

Guys, i'm slightly worried. I just injected my mate. Then he injected me cause I couldn't get the belt tight enough without holding it, 99% certain it was a hit, but at the end cause he was abit fucked started pulling the needle out I told him but it didn't stop, and I think maybe the last .1CC or something like that may of missed, but I can't tell. Is this cause for concern, what should I do ?

it will just disperse into your system
unless you get a lot of swelling and pain and/or heat around the area,no worries
but if you do get any of those symptoms,or if you are just generally worried,see a doctor

You should be all right. can take a heating pad (or warm a rag in the microwave- hot water, ect...) and that will fascilitate reabsorption into your circulation. It will also increase the amount of white blood cells that migrate to the area. This would in theory decrease the risk of an abscess. But if it was me, I would leave it alone, and if you have increasing pain, redness, or spike a fever, go to the ED of your nearest hospital. If its an abscess does indeed form, it will need to be lanced PROFESSIONALLY, and possible cultured. The concern is that there are microrganisms resistant to coonventional treatment like MRSA, VRE, ESBL, ect.. and you would need to be treated empirically by an antibiotic and then by the appropriate one.

But these are absolutely worst case scenarios, I doubt you have anything at all to worry about, I missed many times in my IV days with dirty tar and I never had any nightmarish scenarios- just watch the sight and if it don't feel good, seek medical help.- you'lll probably be alright- so don't stress

@Zara- thanks for the great posts/links%), like monsta mentioned, a mix of cafeine with powder diamorph HCL would fascilitate smoking- the ducth did this in a study of MMT patients that weren't responding when they formulated a mixture for smoking.

I haven't had any sub since the large dose I took almost 5 days ago- mild weakness, sniffles, but feeling ok. See my psychiatrist today- gonna discuss dealing with the benzos next.

At fisrt she accepted it but when I developed a true and good habit we came close to breaking up. Well eventually she started smoking in a "if you can't beat them join them move." She kept using during the 3.5 years clean in the early 90s off everything. We stayed together despite the admonishments of people in the program- i loved this girl to death. Now were married and have a beautiful 3 y.o daughter, and she's a great mom. She's on sub and trying to taper- she's on 2 mg. Our has been a chemical love story with all the trials and the good times. But, if i could do it again I wouldn't get her started on gear- we all know how fucked that life usually turns out, usually more missery than pleasure- especially in todays shortsighted, narrowminded prohibitionist climate.

Just had a fucking close run in with the police !

Gone to score, mate was buying two bags, we get it then look and there's only one, so we are looking on floor incase dropped it. So he still had it in his hand, and police van was coming up behind him, so I told him and he drops it.

Luckily cause I was walking around other side of road looking on the floor and stuff they only went an looked over there not where he dropped it.

We got fully searched 'because we smelt of marijuana' fuck off, hate it when they use that !

It is such a personal thing, & there is no right or wrong answer. My Son is 19 & luckily i didn't have a drug problem when i was expecting him. While i was pregnant i didn't even drink or smoke. But if i became pregnant now i would like to think that i wouldn't use, but who could ever really say for sure? & what about my meth? That is not good for a baby either.

It would be an awful start in life for a baby, but would termination be the only answer? That is so final. I know girls that had babies that sadly had to go through W.D's when they were born, its a terrible thing for a baby to go through, but they have grown up to be healthy happy children now, & in two cases the mothers have stopped using drugs althougher for the sake of their childrens future, these mothers have made these sacrifices to give there kids a good life, even though things may have been very rockey at the start, so now those kids have a happy life in front of them. I really admire the strength of these mothers.

But it is such a personal thing to each woman, only someone in that position can make that decision, it must be a very hard decision to make no matter what one chooses. I myself could never judge or advise someone who has such a hard choice to make, you never know it could happen to any of us at any time, there is no right or wrong answer. But i do truly admire any woman or man who turns their whole life around for the sake of their child's happiness. Its a tough choice though alright. Different things suit different people i suppose. But neither is right or wrong, its just life.........

Just sneezing in our daughters case and 3 months of bad colic- but i wonder if it was PAWS. Opiates unlike alcohol and a few other drugs doesn't cause birth defects, but quiting cold turkey can precipitate miscarrages. In our case, my wife quit dope 1 week before our daughter was induced- 2 weeks before the due day, so by God's grace she was healthy, slightly underweight, The OB/GYN gave my wife 60 vicodine with a refill. I'm sure some small- but negligible amount crosses into the breast milk. But thats the rationalefor having spots open in closed clinics with preganant women. They have a protocal for detoxing the babies and the methadone ends up in breat milk.

But my baby suffered the worse i presume in utero. Thats something I can't change but try to be the best dad and husband from this time forth. I support your descision. I think that our daughter given her genes and exposure of opiates in the womb might be at increased risk for addiction, even if we do our best- like radiation exposure has an insidious effect. but the best I can do is work hard, stay off illegal drugs and alcohol, and hopefully off all Rx in time working a program.

My wife ended up relapsing about a year and a half after our daughter was born. She chipped at first but got on sub so as not to slip into past habits/ behaviors. Thats when she sought treatment with sub.

But don't feel guilty, the pregnancy before for much the same reasons. With our daughter, we really thaught we could get our things sorted and kick but desperation kicked in, so we did the same thing ( and didn't feel ready for a baby at the time even though at the time we were on MMT and hadn't slipped back to a gear habit, so I agree- as horrible a thing as termination of pregnancy is, sometimes it is the sensible and humane thing.

Its an ugly fact of our lifestyle.

edit: we started using together in the early 90s- she kept using when i was clean 3.5 years 98-2002, like it really matters, but for the sake of accuracy.

I rarely come across heroin where i live (all pain pills around here) even though me and my buds are careful to do small hits, i still managed to overdo it today. I woke up on my boys couch and was fading out of consciousness. so,i been pissed off all day about the dental news-getting my dentures
i had my clinic appointment today so i said that the pharmacist had told me that even the sugar free meth fucks your teeth up and could i get tabs cos i don't need to make my remaining teeth any worse
she said they don't do them and didn't know if anyone did them anymore in this country
i am obviously more knowledgeable than her and told her that they do but maybe you have to go private
I told her that any doctor can prescribe them but most won't because of the risk
if they can pass that risk to a specialist agency they will
cos if they did prescribe and something happened they would face the high jump
so most docs are just too weak and scared to prescribe

your wasting your time as you need so many to get any sort of volume (look it up) but ratio of 'pure' opium to H is 10:1 - the latex that comes out of the poppy head is not opium it needs to be trated (loads on the web without me filing in pages of info) so unless you have a couple of acres i wiuldnt bother

Thats what i'm sayin , there's no point . What make tabs do uget ?. when i get em they are Martingdale ones , but the way isee it if its a tablet then it is 2 swalled n if it is a lincus it is 2 be drunk.
You must know some pretty stupid people(no offence) , mind u i know someone that has ived oramorph in their Groin n someone else that claims 2 of ived Somnite (Nitrazepam linctus) with no consequences. This is obviously a lie cos the stuff is thicker than washing up liquid and messy 2 drink let alone IV. I used 2 have the 50ml concerntrate meth amps along time ago n they aren't really ment 4 iv i was instructed 2 use them IM. This didn't stop me tryin em iv n like u said there wasn't that much of a rush but it did sting like fuk.

I shouldn't worry 2much but still keep n eye on it cos the gear will have some shit in it n no matter how small the miss is it could cause infection .

But your best bet for Harm Reduction Is to get a proper Torniquet , Belts are not designed to be used to aid injections They are much better for holding your jeans up
You can get them from some needle xchanges , but if not and you are iving quite regular u can buy them from most chemist , they will probably have 2 order it or get one over the internet. It is definatley worth it , i wish i had got hold of one when i started injecting cos you only get one set of veins.
