Heroin/Oxycontin Cotton shots

. I don't know exactly why it is, but like I said, it probably has to do with some of the drug still being trapped in the wax. Even though oxy is water soluble, if it's trapped inside of an insoluble component, then it wouldn't dissolve would it?

Then why would doing the same thing you just did get it out 8)

If you are getting something from that gunk, that means you didn't suck up all the water, you didn't crush up the oxycodone enough, and you didn't mix it well enough. I've done Oxy shots too, so don't pretend like we're all stupid and it's some secret only you know about.

Think about it.

All you're doing is sucking up shit that's extremely dangerous to be in your system. It causes long term damage, just because you don't feel it now doesn't mean it's safe. What happens is particulate matter and liquid will build up in your lungs, which causes serious lung damage as it stays there over time, as well as being cancerous.

Do it right the first time. Crush up your pills as finely as possible, add it in water, and let it sit in water and stir every so often seconds for a good couple minutes. I know it dissolves funny, that's the talc.

Oxycodone is readily water soluble. That gunk is not oxycodone, however if it is pasty or liquidy that may be trapped oxycodone in that water, so you need to work hard to suck it up. I would recommend using 2 syringes, one for the filtering process, and another for actual injection. With a syringe used for the filtering, you can adequately squeeze all that juice through.

You may want to use a needless syringe with a wide hole or large size to do this, as it is thick, and then just use a simple cotton and suck up that liquid with your using syringe.

You can re-use that particularly cotton just like with a heroin shot, and as long as you keep it in an air-tight container and relatively dry you should be fine re-using it if you really have to.

Cotton shots aren't the best thing, but I think people here are being too alarmist about the practice of re-using them. Now of course it may be bad to use them, it's desperate, you likely won't get good with them, but so what, we're druggies right? Be realistic and put them in the toilet or put them in an airtight container like a vial or medicine bottle.

Worst case scenario is you get an auto-immune response similar to cotton fever, BUT NOT ACTUAL COTTON FEVER, as you should be using sterile cottons so you shouldn't be getting the actual cotton fever bacterium itself, that is nondeadly and goes away in a couple hours. Just use Q-tips to avoid cotton fever, rather than nonsterile cottons like cigarette filters (although those may be sterile, I'm not sure).

he is saying the residue from a pill shot can be "re-cooked" to get high again. yes, oxy is readily soluble in water, but when you draw up the solution into the rig after mixing the pills and water, there is still a little bit of water amongst the "sludge" of pill powder/water. you can never draw up ALL the water, some is left in the cotton, and some stays in the crushed pill matter in the spoon. so when this dries out/evaps, you still have some oxycodone left in the spoon. plus you cant guarantee that ALL of the oxycodone dissolved in the shot the first time around. if you add more water to "wash" the residue, the remaining oxy will dissolve and you can get a low dose shot out of that.

you can hardly say that ALL of the oxycodone is dissolved first time around and that ALL of that water is then drawn up into the syringe. of course there are going to be small ammounts of oxy still in the spoon and if you do enough shots there will be enough to get a small shot.

shooting pills is bad btw.

i have done a number of cotton shots, never gotten sick. i dont really like the idea of storing them in an airtight container, because there is always a little liquid left in the cotton after a shot so if its in an airtight environment that will never dry out, thus leaving it wet and open to bacterial growth. i just leave them in an empty syringe cap i have in a drawer. its not the best "sealed" environment, but at least i know its sterile to begin with,. and by exposing it to air, the cottons can dry out fully. i was under the impression that if they are not wet there probably wont be much bacterial growth.

it does not matter what is in the pills. There is not such a thing as a "dangerous substance" per se. Any solid qualifies for the damage that is done with shooting pills.
 
I'm not sure where I ever said I was the smartest member on BL, but now that the dumbest has posted, Hi, it's nice to meet you. What I was doing in that post was giving my review of this case study he posted. I wanted to state that it is obvious that shooting pills is dangerous, but since it is going to be done anyway, maybe some are better than others, and some methods are better than others. I used the wording I used because I didn't want to look like half the dickheads of this website and be like "I am 100% positively right and you are all wrong" so instead I stated what I had gathered from my research and why. I don't know why you jumped on this because I am not trying be smarter than anyone else or anything, I was just trying to state my case, but I'm glad you've taken your time to attempt to rip apart my post, which I might ad, you failed miserably at. I tell you what, I will repost with solid evidence and airtight sources. I am glad you got your post out there though, so everyone can see how to look like a stupid jackass if they so choose. If you hated my post so much, why didn't you present some facts that are relevant to the conversation to refute it, instead of putting your stupid little observations about each thing I said. You say you don't post much, lets try to keep it that way.

well done, I think that's probably exactly what it is. I want to add also, that if you weren't shooting all those dangerous things the first time, why would you be getting them the second time. If I wasn't getting any oxy on the second try, then I would be just shooting water at worst. Its not like those things that didnt dissolve the first time are suddenly going to dissolve now.
 
^^^^ did you ever hear about solubility? Yes, with more added watter things might disolve further. When your solution was saturated once, you sucked all the watter away and added more water, therefore alowing more soluble solids to disolve that were not able to disolve before cause the solution was saturated.

here is what i said in simple terms: Take a killo of salt. Add a liter of water. Not all salt will disolve, obviously. Now remove the saturated solution. You end up with leftover salt that did not disolve the first time. If you add more water, which has no salt in it, some of the leftover salt will disolve in the fresh water. Therefore more solids disolved.

that's the basic principal

Ok, I see your point and I'll retract that part of my statement, but as far as this whole argument goes, for whatever reason, it does work. If you have cooked up a couple of oxys in the same spoon and have a decent amount of residue, you can add water, cook again, and get a decent shot from it. That's just all there is to it. I don't know why, and I really don't care, I just Know it works. But I guarantee anyone who IV's OCs, one day when they're really needing a fix, they will try ad cook up that residue, do a shot, and pleasantly surprised. I know its not safe. The only point I was ever trying to make is that it isn't necessarily any worse than shooting the pill in the first place. I guarantee, however, it is certainly better than shooting cottons, heroin or otherwise.

P.S. It's principle*, a principal is the fat guy on a power trip who ran my high school.

So let's go through one by one:
1) ammonio methacrylate copolymer is used in the time-release mechanism http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/11442269

3) Talc is insoluble in water (easy to find)

5) Lactose is a natural sugar found in dairy products. It's soluble in water but since it's also in milk, I doubt it would cause any problems unless you were a lactose-intolerant individual

Thus, I will restate, that from my research, I believe that among pills that are to be IV'd, it appears that OxyContin is indeed one of the safer ones. This also leads me to believe that Microcrystalline cellulose was likely the culprit in the case study presented by GenericMind. In most cases with these ingredients, the temperature of the water was a non-factor on the solubility of the chemical, with the exception being triacetin I believe. Of course, there are other factors involved, such as improper filtration, which can result in some particulate matter entering the bloodstream. Notice, I still have not stated that it's safe to IV pills, because it isn't, but from this research it apperars OC may well be better than IV'ing heroin, when done correctly. I say this just because of how dirty heroin can be. I also agree that it is probably best not to add heat when prepping your shot. I will also note that I had trouble finding information on the solubility and toxicity of ammonio methacrylate copolymer. Anyone with information on it, please post. I want anyone to feel free to refute my findings, because if I'm wrong I'd like to know, but if you do so please post your reasoning and a solid source.

So pinpoint, do you see where I drew my conclusions, based on solid evidence of the solubility and toxicity of these substances? Did you pull your head out of your ass long enough to see that? You see, I'm not the smartest member on BL, just smarter than you :)

I've never claimed oxycontin was dangerous to inject. It's water soluble, so there's no real problem with it if you filter correctly.

However you're claim of trying to use that gunk is wrong. I really don't know what I'm supposed to tell you. I mean you agree with me that Oxycontin is water soluble right, we don't need to source that do we?

And that's all we need to really know. Obviously some of it isn't water soluble, and that's shit you obviously don't want in your veins, like talc.

I think you mean oxycodone is water soluble, oxycontin is a brand name, meaning Oxycodone Continuous Release. I don't know what to tell you other than it works. If you ever decide to try it you'll understand, until then I guess we have to agree to disagree. Also, I'm not sure how talc would get in your veins as it is insoluble in water.

To GM, you're probably right which is why I said I still think it's dangerous and bad for your veins.

I should also mention that this research was done only on the Purdue OxyConTin tablets and not on any generic forms so I can't vouch for those.

Anyway, that's all. My findings speak for themselves, take from them what you will. I'm sure people will continue with their unfounded claims that I'm wrong, but what can you do. I know that I feel much better about it now that I have a much better idea of what is and isn't going into my veins. I suppose that's all I need. This website stresses giving valid, sourced information, I was just doing my part.
 
^ No need to get to technical. TR knows that oxycontin = oxycodone. He said oxycontin because you are referring to injecting oxycontin and not injecting oxycodone (as in, IR form), which is a slightly different species to inject.

Its not one of the safer ones. Perhaps its one of least dangerous ones. The idea being that "injecting pills" and "safe" never belong in the same sentence.
 
Whatever, oxycontin/oxycodone. You can inject even Percocets relatively safely but that requires an extensive, although basic, CWE, whereas with oxycodone you can mash them up and inject them rather safely as long as you use cooler water and are more discriminating.

Look, I understand you're point, but all the info you posted is unnecessary. All that needs to hold true is that oxycodone is water soluble, and that there is fine particulate matter in the pills which aren't as easily water soluble.

Given that oxycodone is so water soluble, the only reason you are getting high off that gunk is because you aren't sucking up all the water and you aren't crushing it up properly. Given how large that gook is, most likely, you aren't sucking it all up. It's quite a mess to deal with injecting pills.

I'd recommend that you use much more water with your pills andyman1109, so the oxycodone is more dilute and you suck up a larger percentage of it, rather than any substantial amount being trapped in the small amount of water you invariably will always leave behind in that pasty, pasty mess.
 
Yeah, 'least dangerous' is probably a better term.

And I was going to add that I've been getting very little if anything from my residue shots lately. I guess this is because I've gotten more efficient at cooking my shots. I must say though, it was interesting to learn about all the components that make up an oxycontin tablet. I didn't mean to go off, I just didn't like being told I was misinformed, I'm sure you understand. And that last post wasn't directed at you. I just had to do it to make a point for that bitch Pinpoint. I think we're both right, there was just sort of a breakdown i communication.
 
can someone make a "Pill shooting" thread, where we collect all the information and arguments? There are soooo many threads all over the place and derailed because of pills, why don't we put it all in one big thread?
