Tonight I had 4-5 cottons I had saved up and decided to use them. I usually leave my cottons a bit damp after fixing up a shot and let me say I def. got a pretty decent shot out of it. I usually just take a cotton and add water to it and smash the shit out of it until I feel I've gotten all the dope out of it and then move on to the next cotton. I know doing this exposes you to all types of bacteria and the risk of getting cotton fever but fortunately I havent had this...yet. I was wondering how other people fix up cotton shots. I've heard people say they add heat to it but I usually never do it. Has anyone experienced any problems doing this such as cotton fever or anything? Just curious as to other peoples experience with the positives and negatives on using old cottons.
 
what in the hell are you talking about cotton. Do you mean contin as in oxycontin?????
 
i use the same spoon all the time so a nice thick dope crust appears after several uses, so i scrape my spoon and almost always get a great shot. Sometimes i save cotton but its too hard for me, as i always have to hide my works

You made a thread about trying to find Heroin in NYC (which is dumb and against the rules btw) and you don't know what cottons are?

You use cottons to filter heroin and you can reuse them to get high..

Anyway, I always reused my cottons after I had 4-5 of them saved up. I have gotten cotton fever twice, but it didn't stop me from continuing it. I used the same method you described - smashing them up with the plunger. I've also tried adding them to an old rig, pouring water in from the top, and smashing the plunger down on top. I really couldn't tell a difference in effectiveness between this and using the plunger directly in the spoon to smash them.
 
ive done this a ton of times and have luckily never had "cotton fever" sometimes there would be enough dope left to get me well but usually it was just a tease like trying to keep smoking a pushed out crack pipe.
 
once i used a 'all natural' coffee filter that looked like it was made of wood pulp or something to filter a bunch of oxy pills for IV

i used a 0.8 micron wheel filter on the resulting liquid and shot it and got crazy fuckass cotton fever 10 min later (and didnt even get high)

- at first i didnt know what was up, my temp went to like 42 and i was shaking like a fucking epileptic, i had to bite a sock not to chip my teeth...few days later i saw something on 'cotton fever' and was like ooooh ha

and that was the first and last time ive ever used a coffee filter to filter pills :)
 
Shooting cotton is bad idea but everyone does it when they are strung out.

I knew a guy who once had a coke OD off his saved cottons.

I got a huge abscess from missing a shot of a coke cottons i had collected, never got cotton fever though.

BTW the best way is to put your cottons inside the actual barrel, add a little water that way you can squeeze every bit of liquid out of the cottons.

hopefuly after shooting that mix into a second rig. im not trying to register and mix blood and shit in that cottony mess.

i was always against cotton shots ive tried to be super hygenic but i was strugn out tonight and saw this thread and dug through my trash for all the cottons from the last week. (i always wrap them up in the foil/paper wrapper from the alc swab so they werent like sitting in garbage.. still pretty dirty though.)

no cotton fever, no relief from wd through either.

edit: this withdrawal is so fucking bad. i gotta wait till like 6am till i get money in the bank shittt. why is it that when you get your dope you always use it up like there is no tomorrow, even if you know there isnt any more money coming and youll be sick in two days if you dont conserve. i go through this shit seems like every week and i always swear never to let it happen again but here i am sitting up all night fucking sick as hell.

goddam... anyone in norcal got some dope to share? i can make it up to san fran by noon ;) (just kidding mods)

and now your trying to source dope online? I know you said your jk, but if someone said yes , youd be asking them how much in 2 seconds.

You've never withdrawn from opiates have you? It's not a matter of being twisted and unsanitary. It's a matter of feeling so unbelievably horrible physically and mentally that anyone would embrace any opportunity to make it go away (with the exception of intentionally going cold turkey maybe, but even then it would be smart to not have any cottons lying around to tempt you.)

I don't care how "sanitary" anyone claims to be....if you're really sick and you've got cottons full of dope anywhere in the vicinity, you're going to use them sooner or later.
 
this is a very bad idea , if ur gonna shoot try to be clean as possible and yes ive tryd it never will i again seems lik to many things can go wrong

well to be honest, its more of a "wastebasket" next to my desk with mostly paper and random dry trash..not like moldy tacos and cups of soda..but i agree it is pretty dirty.

and no im not trying to source dope online and if someone offered me some i would have ignored it..ive been here long enough to know the rules thanks.
 
I shot straight cottons one time, and I will never, ever do it again. I had cotton fever for 2 days straight and no amount of real dope would fix it.

Its a very risky practice so anyone considering it, or anyone planning to do it again that hasnt had cotton fever yet, proceed with caution.

Yeah, I usually think ahead after my dope is gone and I'm going to be sick, so after I fix a shot, instead of sucking the cotton dry, I usually leave it wet and damp so I actually do get some dope out of the cotton later. For those of you who did get cotton fever, what were the symptoms and how long did you feel the cotton fever after you shot the cottons and how long did the fever last?
 
^ They were shakes, intense back pain, a pounding headache, and the feeling of being very cold. Ive gotten this from regular shots of dope and from a cotton shot. When Ive gotten it from shooting dope, it seemed to only last a few hours. However, with the straight cotton, it was about 2 days.

hey.. not everyone here lives in the US. i assumed he was talking 42 celsius..which would be a very high fever.

not all americans are ignorant i promise!
 
^ yeah but your temperature doesnt DROP to a high fever.

He wasnt being serious. It was an exageration. Cotton fever makes you feel cold, so he was trying to demonstrate how cold it makes you feel. And hes right, it does feel like your temp is 42 degrees F.

your body feels cold when its temperature rises, because the difference between your internal temp and the ambient temperature is that much greater. thats why you often get the chills when you have a fever. i could be wrong im no doctor but that is my experience.
