Hi everyone,
This is my first time posting on here, though I have been utilizing bluelight for many many years. I am in recovery and have been on 16mg suboxone for a little over a year. My journey has not been perfect but has for the most part has gotten better overall. That being said, 4 days ago I did not take my subs with the intention of using. I did this for the next four days, about 5 decent bags a day, until this morning around 1 am when I did my last one. I have read so much information about PW's and how to avoid them, but still feel very unsure of how having a suboxone addiction plays into this. I have heard from several folks on here that if your main addiction is bupe and you have only been using a full agonist for a brief amount of time while not taking the bupe, you can return to it much sooner than if you were starting subs for the first time. Can anyone offer and advice on this? I'm sorry if I had posted in the wrong forum or someone has already answered this. I haven't had any luck getting a straight forward answer and feel very alone right now.It has been about 12 hours since my last use. Any pointers on where to go from here? Should I return to my full 16mg at one time? Or split it up? I could really use any advice... Thanks guys!
Heh... im sure its been stated in this thread a few times, by both me and other folks that when wanting to switch from methadone to bupe, it is wise to switch to a short acting full agonist like oxycodone or hydrocodone, or even heroin for a week first , THEN wait about 24-36 hours and go ahead with the bupe.
Its methadones long ass halflife that makes the switch from methadone to bupe hard because you start to feel withdrawal hit quite some time before methadone actually completely vacates your receptors. Thats why the precipitated withdrawal from methadone is so brutal and long lasting *cringes*.
