fortunately almost every opiate i've ever had makes me so violently ill i cant enjoy it at all with the exception of dilaudid and mepergan which i have very limited access to so its never been a problem. I was in a car wreck and broke my neck recently and i can barely even take the pain meds which kinda suks

it took a lot more than five times for me to get addicted, I never even noticed withdrawal symptoms from my oxy habit(from 17-19yrs), it wasn't till i started using heroin everyday that I even knew what withdrawal was.

i have tried everything from dilauded to vics to percocets to blues 30mg and i was instantly hooked.. ive gotta have one in the morning noon and night, and thats a minimum. well at least i can admit i am addicted unlike some of my friends that use as much as i do and say "aw man no im not addicted i just like the feeling once and a while".

my situation is weird. i would be, by all psych textbooks, be dubbed 'dependent on narcotic painkillers', and a code would follow, something with an NOS at the end, since my 'addiction' weird.

When a situation arose where someone died and left behind a barrel of oxys, I reveled in their narcotic splendor, but I started with the smallest possible dose and by the time the bucket was finished, i titrated up to 20mg QD. I would not allow myself more, ever.

Then the whole poppy tea craze came to town, and I found myself clearing out shelves from the arabic and persian stores where the seeds were, for some odd reason, more potent than any pod i've tried [except the pods that grow in the dogwalking and children's park quite close to me, where in the summer about 1000 pods, very small ones, skyrocket to heights unfathomable...these are double magnum pods, and theyre tiny like marbles, but still murder..i was blown away], in the beginning being a careful innocent young lamb, but quickly becoming a Nepalese opium junkie to the point that my heart stopped on one occasion and I saw Hashem's luring arms beckoning me to come forth. After that, I abstained from the poppies for about 48 hours and resumed the usual routine. At that time I got heavily 'into' psychopharm...became a passion. I realized that I was headed for grim death, and cut myself off...titrated down in 2 weeks to 0. It was impossible to endure, I saw poppies in my sleep, i hallucinated poppies, i mistook tulips in the flower shop for P. somniferum, and I was depressed, had to go on mad tricyclics and insulin shock, prolonged sleep therapy, rhythmic gymnastics with ribbons, and the like.

But the depression went away very quickly thanks to mr. Doxepin and Campral and XANAX, which led to another cycle of abuse and misuse...

So I realized the hard way, how horrid it was. Now, however, I do not have cravings, nor do I yearn for the tea. Now I am able to control myself, and also am lucky to have some knowledge about opiates and a plethora of things associated with it, so I know how brutal it is. If I do it, its on a special occasion. Like I'll put on Viskningar och Rop and have the tea. But this is ultra rare...maybe 3 times a year max. I don't touch oxycodone, but if someone gave me a big bottleful, I'd chuck 2/3rds into the loo and have a night with the remaining..blast some eurotrash techno and go out professing my love to everybody. But I would not repeat it the next day.

I WILL and DO throw away drugs if theyre given to me....that is, most of the supply, leaving a wee bit for myself. The drawback is that opiate tolerance never goes away, so my min is 160 ER.

The point I'm trying to make.....my addiction is odd. I can't say I'm not addicted, but when I have no opiates, I'm fine, I don't crave them, I don't go searching for them. They don't cross my mind. But on rare occasions I will indulge safely, and get huge satisfaction from it. My organism is such that I adjust to change extremely well. I'm grateful for that.

[sorry for the length of the post...i have a tendency to write Turgenev-like sentences that never end. my father was a poet, my mother was prof. of Literature....and I was a junkie for a period of time, so DONT DO OPIATES! don't even start..take it from a man who has seen Hashem and by him was wisdom y-granted] ok. done.

It's a little tough to say. I do opiates (more lately than usual) on occasion. I do all kinds. I'm not necessarily addicted to the opiates, as I am to all drugs. I'm dependent on all substances, not just opiates. I do love opiates, but my main addiction is K.

Was pretty good at keeping my H use down to once a month last year, but just before new year some stuff happened in my life that led me to start taking H everyday, this went on for about two/three weeks, fortunately I nipped it in the arse then, and even just from those couple of weeks of abusing the shit out of H I still got some mild wd's for 2 days and was craving it constantly. Learnt a valuble lesson from that, to treat H with even more respect, as I wouldn't want to experience real heroin wd's.

I use poppy pod tea every other week and believe that theres no way of getting addicted if I keep it that way.

I have always been able to control drug habits;

GBL for example everyone said on here how addictive it was I do that once or twice a month if that.
Even coke I never got addicted to even after doing that on a weekly basis (havent done it in months/ dont even crave it)

The most addictive drug imo is Canabis because the high feels so good, you dont get a comedown or hangover and its so habit forming (the whole skinning up thing) and the fact most of my friends smoke it.

I do opiates about once or twice a month. I find I just dont much care for the feeling of the persription shit and for me good H is hard to come by. So Id'e say I'm not addicted but I deffinatly enjoy them and would never turn them down if I had the spare cash.

I've tried codeine and tramadol several times, oxycontin a few, and also IV'd fentanyl, morphine and pethidine a few other times.

They are nice but disappointing, I expected much more. Maybe my doses were just small, I only pushed it a little with the fentanyl, up to 200mcg in one shot. Also, I hate the motion sickness, to which I seem very sensitive. I once took 30mg of morphine IV one evening and was still nauseated through the next day.

So, strong opiates being hard to get here (oxycontin is not so rare, but expensive), I just don't bother going after them.

I usually dont take opiates too frequently, every once in a while ill get a hold of a bunch of pills at once and go on a few day binge while giving out a lot to my friends so i don't let it get really to the point where i have physical cravings or withdrawls.

I have used opiates hundreds of times over a span of 4 or 5 years.

I felt moderate cravings lasting up to a week after my first opiate experience with 15mg Hydrocodone, despite having used it just one time. I tried to set limits for use but broke them pretty fucking fast. I seem to fucking love hydrocodone though.

I never felt any cravings ever for Tramadol, least addictive recreational opiate for me (yes, I have gotten decent effects out of it with good enough potentiation). Propoxyphene, or at least Darvon/Darvocet's compound, was just too damn weak to have any cravings for whatsoever. Codeine seems to have mild-moderate addiction potential for me.

May sound strange, the most addictive opiate(oid) I have ever tried was Pethidine, usually at a 100mg dose, it was more intense than any of my 3 IV morphine experience using 30mg doses with little to no tolerance at the time. I've read many bl'ers are not fans of this drug at all, yet I found the highs I got off it were the most euphoric moments of my life, sober or otherwise. I also loved how it was comparatively more trippy than your standard opiate. YMMV indeed.

I have always ran out of my supply (so far every opiate/oid I've tried was prescription, though not for long) for and stayed depleted for extended enough periods of time for me to not become physically dependent, therefore I have never had significant withdrawals.

I have not tried anything like heroin or fentanyl or even oxycodone yet.

I don't come to this site too often. Just having a slow morning I guess and thought I'd share my experience. Opioids... can't imagine anyone not loving them to the point of addiction. Those who can -- my hat's off to you. I went from 0 times to daily in like ... uh... one day. Even when you get the physical dependence in check, the psychological hold is tremendous. Would I not take that first hydro or oxy if I thought it would be so hard not to keep taking? Hell, no. I'm not that smart. I'm just moaning because I can't get my pills. Right now (yeah, yeah, I DO KNOW better), I'm thinking that the main problem with addiction is a person's inability to get their DOC. Bad attitude. I know. Like I said, I'm having a slow morning and it's opioid-free.

Psh, I'm so effin' addicted.

Yeah, dude. Opiates are extremely addictive. Especially if you have an addictive personality, like myself. I started out on lortabs and it just escalated from there. I have done anything and everything under the sun except coke and crack.

If you get started, it's very difficult to stop. I'm prescribed 90 lortab 7.5's a month for a wreck I had, even though the x-ray came back normal and also am prescribed 60 0.5 klonopins a month. And I'm totally addicted. I love oc's and stuff so yeah.. they are totally addictive!

Never done heroin, and never IVed anything (don't plan on it), but I've sampled a decent amount of hydrocodone, oxycodone, hydromorphone, and morphine. Opiates/opioids don't come around often among my circles, and although it can be frustrating at times (could definitely go for some oxy right now) it's definitely a blessing and has kept me from getting addicted. If I had a steady script or even a steady connect I don't think it would take long at all.

I've been on heavy opiates for 10 years and have never been in detox or rehab... but I sure don't like to go without them.

I'm a chonic pain suffer/pain patient... So that's where I stand. I'm addicted to Oxy (in any from)... Although IV dilaudid is where it's at. Morphine makes me vomit and so does something in the filler of Vicodin. I've tried H, but never really liked it compared to the pharms. Opium is ok, but again, not really a fan. I think I'm at a point where I'm happy just taking whatever I get prescribed.... Although I would like to try fent. and not die...

Opi's are highly addictive. And being dope sick is one of the worst feelings ever. I'd recommend everyone who hasn't tried them to get loaded to not do so.

Cuddly womb drug imo.
