do you like guns? do you think guns are bad? If you have a gun, what kind of guns is it? do you use your gun to kill people or do you just go down to the shootin range and release some aggression?

i am fascinated by guns, i think guns are great if used with responsability...
what do you guys think?

Way to generalize SmC. I am an american that does not want to have guns in my home and I am terrified to be around them. I am married to an English man who LOVES guns.
 
I actually quite enjoy using guns, however I don't own any or use any because I despise the culture that surrounds them. I hate redneck gun-nuts that should be worrying about more important social issues but instead spend their time hootin' and hollerin' about not wanting their guns taken away. I just want to tell them to grow the fuck up, nobody's going to take their precious fucking guns away.
 
Not every american who owns a gun is a redneck. I have a small .22 rifle that i use for target practice. I plan to get more guns yet i don't expect i'll even be killing any animals, trust me i'm far from being a redneck.
 
I have an AK and I shoot deer when I am bored. I am an American. Except I wasn't born in the USA and I am not a citizen of this country, but I am American. This is for SmC.

Well then i suggest your man should see a pyschologist or whatever...anyone who loves guns is usually a murderous bastard or someone in the army..oh wait those two things are connected, sorry bout that..anyway. Reason why i said typical american was cos guns are legal in america..and america is known for gun violence. So naturally they're going to love guns more than other countries. Just like we love alcohol(i dont that much) cos its legal. And just to make myself even more clearer, noticem i said typical...doesnt mean all americans are like that its just what i picture part of the stereotypical american to be like.

Thats fine by me. You have my respect...people who use guns for killing animals and so on don't have my respect...also an obsessionw ith guns isn't exactly a good thing imo. Guns were invented to kill, which is why i hate them.
 
i would totally agree that alot of the culture around guns and firearms sucks... and i agree guns are not for everyone... and i would never be a member of the NRA ... the shit they do is just wrong... yeah its cool we have the right to have guns... but don't go shovin it in peoples faces... but you could say that about any view or belief...

Just because someone likes guns doesn't mean that they're murderous or violent.
 
If you have a gun... you're either: a fucking homophobic anti-liberal redneck american registered with the nra, or a "tough" drug-dealer who listens to rap and compensates for his insecurities by showing off his 44.

Line-drawing fallacies aside, everyone knows that it's an idealistic delusion to imagine that there are intelligent gun owners who practice gun safety responsibly just like they practice harm reduction with drugs. I mean, criminals are getting their hands on new illegal arms that come over the border every day, but it would be dumb for law-abiding citizens to carry a gun for protection from rapists, robbers, and murderers right?

Remember: Drugs are b, wait, I mean... Guns are bad. Just say no!
 
I wouldn't say that I love guns, but I do enjoy shooting. Not everyone that owns guns is a backwoods redneck, or a raving lunatic. I don't shoot animals, or use guns to engage in any irresponsible activities. To me, there is nothing like a well made rifle, capable of hitting a target at 500 meters with pinpoint accuracy. It's just a sport, nothing else.
 
What's the point of having a gun? Is there any point in owning a gun? Safety? :| When's the last time you used your rifle for safety?

If you own a gun just to kill stuff when you're bored... :|

Or if you just like the power that the gun gives you when you fire it at a firing range...

shooting a gun at a firing range is a HOBBY....nothing more nothing less.


It's pathetic that you people can't see that.

just because someone carries a gun doesn't mean they want to kill anything at all, and it also doesn't mean they are trying to be more "powerful" than anyone else.


What you're doing is the same thing most of the world does when they say all drug users are dumb and can't get a job.

I think of them in the same way of drugs. They're potentially dangerous, and have to be treated with great respect.

if you research them and take care of them, you won't have any problem with them.
