The white mayor? His campaign for public office is the central focus of the third series, no?

I was shocked when i was told that littlefinger from GoT is played by the same geezer as carcetti! Hes one hell on an actor

I watched the second part of Idris Elbas series on speed last night. It was far more interesting than the first. All about 'drifting' and stuff. You'd love it ColtDan if you didnt see it. Drifting is now a recognised legitimate sport and drivers are rated just on their drifting, how gracefull and controlled it is. Elba went on to tell us all about the Rally scene, I'd love to have lessons in that. If and when i get a job im going to save up some money to have lessons in it. Id love to be able to drift/slide round corners like they do, there isnt really anywhere suitable to practice such things around here without getting nicked though. :\

Elba got on brilliantly with some Finlander ex world champion, so well that he told him he'd put him in a film. The guy tole Elba that he was a naturally gifted and talented driver, but he would never be rally world champion. Elba came across brilliantly as a really likeable bloke. Very down to earth, no big ego shit.

Yeah mate i saw that, loved it, much better than Top Gear

Check this out, the ex world champion that was featured on that, 30 secs onwards. incredible driving. best in car footage ive ever seen, such a legend

Awesome driving in wet conditions, it looked like the car was about to loose its grip on a few occasions, must be a very 'grippy' car. I used to drive something like that on the country lanes in wales, i knew those roads like the back of my hand, could almost have driven them blindfolded, i knew exactly how fast each corner could be taken, and whatr line to take into it, and exactly how fast i could go on the straights, and exactly when to apply the brakes for the corners.

That was one of the best things about living out in the middle of nowhere. The roads were almost completely deserted apart from midsummer when there'd be clueless tourists driving in the middle of the road at 20 mph, they didnt realise it was meant to be 2 lanes. :\

Thats awesome driving whatever the conditions, he was fucking flying, doubt it had much grip, no traction control back then, rear wheel drive only, light, lots of bhp

The country lanes around here are fun, some wicked roads here

Will Self is on Newsnight tonight discussing addiction and creativity. I hope he doesnt overintellectualise things so much so that its not clear what the fuck he is actually trying to say. I do find that a problem with him being too wooly headed and intellectual, when he's on Question Time etc. I hope he will have valuable things to say, being a recovered addict and all as to how he did it.

Also just been watching that Geologist Iain Stewart about Sinkholes. One of the most interesting documentaries ive seen for a while. Some woman in the UK got her car swallowed by one today. They are rare in the UK, but in Florida there are so many thousands of them they have stopped counting. Massive ones have appeared in China and Guatamella. You've probably seen the pics on the net. One of the tales sounded like something out of the horror movie Poltergeist when some guys whole bedroom was swallowed by a sink hole, 20 feet deep to start with, but it was alive and churning for weeks after, about 30 feet more of depth mesuring device cable disappeared. It was too unsafe to retrieve the guys body.

Yeah, IDK who recommended "Baraka", but thanks, just watched it while tripping, it's right on the money.

The Will Self interview wasnt exactly full of revelations and amazing new insights. Worth watching though, Jeremey Paxman grilling Will Self about heroin and its effects would have seemed quite surreal normally, but it was in the context of the death of philip seymour hoffmann. Apparently he had been 'clean' for 20 years. Fucks sake thats incredible, 20 years, and still the spectre lurks, or something like that, was what Self said.

Yeah, no matter how long you stay clean, you'll never forget that, once, you knew a thing that you could do, at an instant, that would melt every problem away and deliver you to a plane of serene bliss. I'll watch the interview, before I say anything more that I'm not qualified to.

I saw Will Self on question time a while back, one of the MPs was such a arrogant patronizing dickhead if i was Will i would have walked out before i had stuck a chair aroundd the cunts head, would have been raging

yes, and the known thing about forgetting about lowered tolerance after a break was possibly exactly what happened and possibly why he ODed. Self made that point too.

Yeah, as I expected, Will Self was as interesting and assured and excellent in that interview as I thought he would be. Great watch.

I find it difficult to watch porn after this doccy. Documentary callled Hardcore recommended by Louis Theroux whom I dig. Was pretty fucked up, follows a young amateur porn actress who's come from the UK to LA to try make money in porn and shows how she gets pressured into doing things she doesn't want to by her agent and porn producers, a few years ago.

What is a good heroin documentary that is able to be seen for free either being streamed or not downloaded? And I don't mean a natgeo or discovery channel documentary either. I want a gritty, raw documentary that really depicts the heroin subculture and underworld. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
