just wanna say thanks for this thread, have it bookmarked and its been keeping me entertained these past few weeks with some great stuff, always on the look out for some documentaries so this is great.
Thanks all :)

Just watched A History of Horror with Mark Gatiss (that's a PooToob linky to all three episodes but they're on iPlayer in higher quality and include a short section that was removed from the PooToob version for copywrite reasons too). Quite enjoyed it although somewhat limited in what he covered. Would've been better if it was more than just three programmes so he could fit more films in. Does cover most of the outright classics though and has some nice lil interviews with some of the I Can't Believe They're Not Dead Yet stars of some of the real oldskool ones.

^^^ isnt this the same documentary i was going to be on. they was advertising on pill reports, and when i contacted the producers and told them my 20 odd year history with ecstacy they was literally desperate for me to be on it, they emailed me abck and forth for quite some time asking me if id come to a decision, but i had a good think about it and declined in the end. they was well up for me being on one of the episodes though, ones definitley about ecstacy. they wanted to film me in my normal club enviroment taking mdma and then talk to me while im coming up on it about how im feeling and then afterwards as well. im being serious here. they was advertising on PR in the summer, this would of been me on tv. its a three part documenatary about the science of drugs, and how th actually work on the body. while i would of been explaining to them on it how im feeling, they would of be showing whats actually happening to me at the time. the programmes for bbc3 and also the national geographical educational channel

Nice one dee_dee! You should have gone for it! Well, it's nice in theory until you pop down the local shop and all the kids ask you for drugs. Oh, and all the police find reasons to stop and search you of course.

I think they should have filmed your Christmas exploits, that would have given them enough material for a whole series of drug documentaries, not just three!

Dee_dee....a star was missed.

they didnt even want to pay my travel expenses. i wasnt doing it for the money anyway, its an educational programme. the other issue was with me getting clearance from the venues i party at. they said they would of sorted it, but im very well known in the clubs i frequent, and i couldnt see them wanting the publicity, although the producers where adamant thered e no way of telling what venues i was at. anyway, my mates did there nut with me and said no way dont do it.

im glad i didnt now, i even think the advert is still up on PR, or it was until very recentley, but it was about june/july time that i was in talks with the producers

Tight gits...no travel expenses? I think you did the right thing mate. Ohhh...post another msg quick mate...666 at the mo =D

lol, ive just read the review, thats defo the same series. oh well, i think in this instance hesitation was a good thing. ref family and stuff, theres other people to think about in the equation. they also didnt want to black me out, film me anoynmousley, so you would of seen who i was on a night out from start to finish. as it was advertised on PR, im wondering if anyone else did it, lol. i could see codders doing something crazy like that, or possibly mop on there :)

I'm sure there's plenty of young single wannabe TV stars in here on these forums. Come on, introduce yourselves :) I'll be watching tonight anyway...with a spliff in hand of course....just to get into the mood ya understand.

We've had people come here looking for subjects for a BBC three documentary on legal highs/drugs before, it generally doesn't turn out that well for any of the people who volunteer, despite the 'good intentions'/'educational' aspects of the shows.

I reckon its a good thing you didn't do it, they would've made you look like a scumbag/idiot. I'll still end up watching that docu though.

^^^ this is the thing, it was a very proffesional doc company thats one awards, think they did the series about the dinasours. they was adamant the series was for science, and going to be using the latest technology like they did with the dinasours to demonstrate how the drugs affecting my body and brain while im describing how im feeling at certain parts of the night.

but they wanted to film me in a nighclub scoring drugs and then taking them, showing who i was in person, showing me inside the clubs i go out to with people around me that i no in the background or whatever, its just to dodgy if you ask me, and i have nothing to hide im only a recrational user im not a dealer or criminal.

for science, i would of done it, but everyone told me dont do it, so i listened to them in the end
