God is a concept

But what if I told you that Jesus actually hated religion?

What if I told you being Republican wasn’t apart of His mission?

Then I told you that being Republican didnt automatically make you a Christian

Just because you’re calling people blind doesn’t automatically give you vision

I mean…really…if religion is so great then why does it start so many wars?

Why does it build big churches but fail to feed the poor?
Then tell single moms God doesn’t love em since they had a divorce.
In the Old Testament Jesus actually calls the religious people whores.
Religion might preach grace…but another thing they practice…
They ridicule God’s people…they done it to John the Baptist.
They can’t fix their problems…so they just mask it,
Religion is no different than spraying perfume on a casket.

See, the problem with religion is it never gets to the core.
It’s just behavior modification…like a long list of chores.
It’s like just playing dress up…making yourself look all nice and neat.
But isnt that what they do to mummies while the corps rots underneath??

Now I ain’t judging…I’m just saying quit putting on a fake look.
Cause there’s a problem when people only know you as a Christian because of your Facebook.
With anything else that same logic would be unworthy.
It’s like saying you play for the Lakers just because you bought a jersey.
You see this was me too…but no one seemed to be onto me.
I acted like a church kid but I was addicted to pornography.
See…on Sunday I’d go to church but on Saturday I was getting faded.
Acting if I was simply created just to have sex and get wasted.
See I spent my whole life building this facade of neatness.
But now that I really know Jesus I boast in my weakness.
Because if grace is water…then the Church should be an ocean.
It’s not a museum for good people…it’s a hospital for the broken.
Which means I don’t have to hide my failures…I don’t have to hide my sins.
Because it doesn’t depend on me….it all depends on Him.
See, because even tho you’re God’s enemy and certainly not a fan…
Hes still looking down saying “I want that Man.”
Which is why Jesus hated religion and for it He called them fools.
Don’t you see…it’s much better than just following some rules.
Now I love the church…I love the Bible and yes, I believe in sin.
But if Jesus came to your church…would they even let Him in?
See, remember He was called a glutton and a drunkard by religious men.
But the Son of God never supports self righteousness….not now…not then.
Now back to the point there’s one thing thats vital to mention…
How Jesus and religion are on opposite ends of the spectrums.
See…one’s the work of God but one’s a man made invention.
See…one is the cure but the other’s the infection.
See…because religion says”Do,” but Jesus says, “Done.”
Religion says,”Slave,” but Jesus says, “Son.”
Religion puts you in bondage while Jesus sets you free.
Religion makes you blind but Jesus makes you see.
And that’s why religion and Jesus are two different clans.
Religion is man searching for God, Christianity is God searching for man.
Which is why salvation is freely mine and forgiveness is my own.
It’s not based on my merits but Jesus’s obedience alone.
Because He took the crown of thorns and the blood dripped down His face.
He took what we all deserved…I guess that’s why you call it grace.
And while being murdered, He yelled,
“Father forgive them they know not what they do.”
Because when He was dangling on that cross…He was thinking of YOU.
And He absorbed all of your sin and buried it in the tomb.
Which is why I’m kneeling at the cross saying, “Come on, there’s still room.”
So for religion…no I hate it. In fact I literally resent it.
Because when Jesus said, “It is finished,” I believe that He meant it.
 
Being republican almost automatically makes you not christian in the US -- no matter how large your cross is and how man psalms you quote.

Christianity is about actions and the actions of the GOP have even gained the popes condemnation --- and the vatican doesn't like to play politics

Treat others as you would want to be treated. There are many quotes in there about treating your neighbor as if he were your brother, man from foreign land etc

You would be right that Christ saw the negatives of religion. He challenged certain Jews at the time. This contradiction of challenging religion but also preserving religion is an important secret. Mankind is too all or nothing. Contradictions are the only way to the magic of God. They are a sure sign of God in fact. I would recommend the movie Kingdom of Heaven. There were some secrets in it. Some of the best writing tidbits I have ever seen that went right over my head at first because I was still growing.

Christ is ultra liberal and ultra conservative at the exact same time.

Those in those wars are the damned. Most religions have modernized and you just don't hear the overwhelming masses of the sworn nonviolent over the few making the loud noise of WAR. Dying must be chosen over killing! We must unwire our brains and ourselves! You are literally watching hell unfold. These souls have fallen so far throughout eternity that only a mis lived life can turn them in the other direction.

Good does always win. 10,000 more years or forever. Time is meaningless because progress is always happening. The people have done a good job but God is still hard on them because he has to be. He will allow cancer to be cured soon but only after certain "scientists" realize something.
 
Christ is just a trampled victim navigating a nervous system that constantly adapts. One day he likes the priests then the other day he calls them "whores", but he likes the lay people. It's just a journal of a man being whipped. He has nothing outstanding to offer except his faith in God which was definitely rewarded but in the same way Job was rewarded. The Jews tell him it was all for nothing but he clings to God.
 
Christianity teaches people to be like Christ? Have you ever tried to be someone that you are not? It is impossible because when it is all said and done you are not and never will be. That's a major deterrent to becoming a Christian. The other things are the times and settings of when Christ is said to be here on earth. The culture is and was vastly different from western culture, yet Christianity continues to be taught and practiced by traditional methods, that being Christian should strive to be Christ-like. an impossibility.

Religion, Christianity those who believe are taught and reminded of Christian dogma in worship services, through prayer and bible study which a repeated over and over as a requirement to be fulfilled by believers. What happens if you submit yourself on a regular basis to a belief system everyday of your life, Faith and belief throws logic out of the window? Ask yourself the logic of Christianity and what is written in the bible? What about the end of times, the rapture how is that logical?

As far as religion, any religion, why do you even bother? religions are man-made based on the concept of the supernatural because the human brain must have an answer to questions it cannot comprehend therefore the brain believes in god, the answer to everything that is unknown to man.

Ever read Tao Te Ching by Lao Tzu or read Sri Nisargadatta?

To me the only "Religious" Text worth reading is The Ashtavakra Gita which is a classical Vedanta text in the form of a dialogue between the sage Ashtavakra and Janaka, king of Mithila.

1) “You do not consist of the elements - earth, water, fire, air or even ether. To be liberated, know yourself as consisting of consciousness, the witness of these.”

2) “If you are seeking liberation, my son, shun the objects of the senses like poison. Practise tolerance, sincerity, compassion, contentment and truthfulness like nectar.”

3) “Just as a mirror exists everywhere both within and apart from its reflected images, so the Supreme Lord exists everywhere within and apart from this body.”

It's stuff like this that drives me mad about this part of BL.

Have you ever looked into Taoism, Kashmir Shaivism, Aghor Tantra, Japanese Zen, Sufism?.........

Just because you "believe" in Jesus & accepted it 100% doesn't make it the oldest Religion on Earth, I highly question if you have ever heard of Zoroastrianism for a basic start.

As you are such a Christian I suggest you learn who Leonard Ravenhill is for a very basic start before you ever post here again.
For a simple label I am "Hindu" YET I love Ravenhill, he speaks Truth, it's a TRUTH you lot cannot accept & his ways would BREAK YOU.

Well hell, everyone believes in what they want to believe. So I don't have to prove anything to anyone... It's what is important to me that counts. The same is true with you.

I forget where I read this and I'm most likely badly remembering it, but there's some theory/philosophical/meta physical thing that kinda goes each day you wake up could be your 1st real day, all the memories are planted there and are false.

no way to prove or disprove it

not sure if that's quite the same point you're making though, but I thought it was an interesting idea. though philosophy does seem to have a lot of interesting and creative ways to fuck you over

Ha Ha that is so funny. I choose not to discuss such matters because what I think is irrelevant to what you or anyone else thinks. I have no desire to enlighten you or anyone, it is not my mission or purpose to do so.
 
I view the Bible as a work of religious literature in which God is the protagonist. I actually looked this up and there is a name for Christians like me who believe in that concept. So I'm not alone. So kind of similar/same to God is a concept, I think that's accurate.
