Oh, there's loads the left would like to sweep under the carpet, a local example being the corruption of the Labour Newcastle led by T Dan Smith, but it has to be said, without them, life would be a lot harder. As well as obvious stuff like the 2 day weekend, the NHS etc. most don't know Harold Wilson, who history has a less than pleasant take on, simply refused to commit any British troops to Veitnam, on the grounds it wasn't supporting democracy. It's why his government had to devalue the pound, as retaliation from the US.The one bit of history I love to toss at the BLM & The Socialist Worker idiots who love holding up signs about racism is the early history of Liberia. The capital of the country is Monrovia named after James Monroe who was the 5th President of the USA & was a huge fan of The Back To Africa movement. Cut the tale short the free black folks who got on a boat to "go back home" ended up putting the native people into Slavery using 100% same methods they were subjected to live under, began social rules equal and at times worse than the stuff in South Africa, even killed people for having sexual relationships with people who "were below them" among many other examples of how kind humans are to each other.
Also Winnie Mandela, the fan of burning gays with a car tyre round their neck soaked in petrol is something "The Left" like to skip over for some reason & her husband had NO issue getting his bomb material from the IRA and also had no issue putting bombs in public, yet another bit of historical fact "The Left" like to skip over.
My grandad said to me, that one of his proudest days, along with the day my mam & my aunt were married, was the day the NHS came into existence (he was a miner with a shitload of industrial injury conditions).
Almost having one of those, put on my combat jacket, go into the street and announce "Power to the people" moments. I reckon some hoggers and a pair of jeans wouldn't go amiss, either!
