🌟🌟 Social 🌟🌟 Gibberings ver. CCXIX - "what's new, c*nty chops?"

Yeah I meant to say the insider trading aspect was only part of it, the main part was probably to try and get better deals for America, by threatening to throw a spanner in the works, with the heavy tariffs, and then when he inevitably softens his approach, most countries will be only too glad to accept his concessions. There by potentially securing better terms for the USA.
 
I’m honestly not too sure about that. I know the Trump administration claimed to have “200 countries” in talks with another 100 “knocking on the door” but given basic geography I rather suspect they are overplaying their hand.

The EU and China announced an end to tariffs between themselves recently and I kinda suspect America has screwed the pooch on this one. They’ve just got everybody’s backs up and countries are now looking for a more stable trading partnership outside of the US.

I think they’ve most likely sidelined themselves rather than made themselves the hot ticket for trade deals. But we’ll see, I guess.
