Good luck snolly. I feel weak for doing this n certain people would be annoyed but i cant go feeling anxious like this all the time n citalopram stopped that. I think it was mixing it with drink that was the issue so if i dont drink i should be ok.

Do you find your GP helpful?

Have to ring our GP at 8am to be booked in for a phone consultation with a doctor before they'll set you an appointment to actually see someone. If you want to arrange a follow up for more than a couple of weeks away they can't do it. It's a right fucking pain in the arse. By 8.30 there's no phone consultations left, grrr.
 
Cheers, eh if anyone is annoyed it's their problem. Shouldn't ever get annoyed at someone trying to help themselves. My GP is very helpful yeah, got me off the benzos and has helped a lot with other stuff.

edit: That sounds fucking atrocious, thought it was bad enough having to ring up dead on 8
 
Bloody hell gals, it just shows you how the NHS differs across the country. We have community hub systems here for all sorts where you can contact CPN's or whatever locally as and when. They come to you. I'ts not a perfect model but definitely better than some set ups.

That's a damn good way of doing things, I dunno I've experienced massive differences throughout the country. My old doctors was atrocious as a practice but one of the best doctors I've ever had worked there. It was all on to get mental health related appointments, but here it's a lot easier with a self-referral service and suchlike. It can get confusing but it works out in the end.

Don't worry too much about getting upset on the phone, fairly sure I sound like an absolute tit on the phone 90% of the time (I once answered to my Mum's boss with 'HI GRANDMA!').

As I've said to you before - the NHS infrastructure around here is terrible, even though we do have more hospitals per capita than anywhere else in the UK.

I know, but you can't let that stop you seeking support you are due. I'm sure your wee one is easily distracted with toys etc and there are other people in a GP practice who's be kindly and enjoy a lovely girl come visit...surely?

Just remembered she's got dancing tonight so I can't go. Will have to just phone tomorrow as the sister said. Dunno if they'll put me back on citalopram they may not as there's lots of controversery lately about doctors putting people on antidepressants.

Gal your mum schedule is full on hectic 8(:D Go you! Just get in there with whatever GP you are comfortable with and insist (and insist again) on a psychiatric consultant referral. No shame there honey, you have a psych degree you know about these things missus, use you're "own tools" <3
