Had it happen to me in Co-Op t'other day. Was absolutely gobsmacked. Who the fuck queue jumps?!? Especially in quaint lil rural towns like this one. Who queue jumps? I'll tell you who queue jumps. Codgers that's who queue jumps. Think they bloody own the place. It's not like people don't tend to let them in anyway half the time. No need to jump the gun, y'auld gits. Nor - the most galling part of all - pretend you hadn't noticed there was a queue when confronted by raised eyebrows and communal tutting

Hoping for the s-am-e in the no-tto-odistant, my fine Cornish pirate
MDB, I've been happier and happier with my new mediacentre PC running XBMCbuntu hooked up to my plasma via HDMI; great picture quality even with online-services like 4OD (didn't think it was possible really, given results on laptop and PS3), great sound quality too, none of the digital mud I get from my laptop.
I've never considered getting a surround system, I've not got over the mental block that two ears = two speakers = enough, when I've grown 8 ears I might consider 7.1
Pretty sure I've read about wireless HDMI sender/receivers somewhere? Or get a small computer like a Revo or even a Raspberry Pi for your a/v needs. I actually use a desktop PC but it's overkill and a bit visible, I'm not too bothered about component æsthetics though.
And thanks for the comment on our balance, can't remember being strict at all thoughOK maybe once and I'm still not sure about the decision. Maybe twice. That's just me though, the other mods are like an offshoot of Golden Dawn, takes all my energy to keep them in line.
sorry knock i didnt see your reply till now. It seems you can have various high quality components but if the combos arent right itll be shit. What works fuckin ace for me is plugging my pc into tv through hdmi and then auidio out to from tv to my sound system. My sound system is shit without hdmi. (a feeble muffled blurb) Thats the only way i can get that into it as it only has 1 hdmi connection.. My pc plays dvds far better than an expensive sony .....waaaaa......i think i'll move my new pc to the tv, and use my old pc as a pc. When i can be bothered/ Ive lost disc 3 o the walking dead. what an arse i am.

Your sound system is shit without HDMI? That's a bit weird. Is it a massive difference between that & just standard audio cables? What cables were you using to hook it up before you started using HDMI?
I can't say I've ever noticed a difference in quality between £20 players, expensive players, Xbox or PC etc when it comes to playing DVDs. It's been a loooooong time since I watched a DVD though, unless it's been in someone else's house.

I get great sound from the HDMI output of my PC. None of the digital noise that you get from the cheaper or built-in sound cards. Silence = silence. I didn't even know you could get sound from a video card until I built my HTPC with its fancy nVidia card.

Have long been suspicious of the lil fella - has been doing the rounds amongst the UFO true believers for ages now. This documentary has been in the works for years and am somewhat amazed they've not tried to fudge the results. Tests say human - they wanted alien (or at least not human). The fact they've not tried to hide the fact it's human DNA does give it some credence to me. If it's a hoax they've put some serious effort into it for very many years and then somehow forgotten it'd show up as human when finally DNA tested by legit scientists. Is a very odd way to hoax folk. Bit of an own goal really. Surely they'd've been better off doing what most UFO folk do with their "evidence" - ie write books, host websites, go on speaking tours, make documentaries, but never - never ever never - hand it over to be properly tested by qualified folk.

SCART. My sound system has no amp,(it uses the subwoofer for its amp) its a bit of a weird Onkyou experimental one. Scart and audio in connections are OK, but to get what HDMI really can do the set up i mentioned does it. There is a world of difference.
DVDs played through PC get you the finest result fro your money. AFAIK. In terms of sound, picture detail, colour tone, blah blah, b

You also need a very good quality HDMI lead. If you have all the bits and the time, give it a go, im sure you'll be impressed.
I had a near top of the range £700 sony tv that lasted me 5 years before devolping an unfixable fault. Money was tighter when it needed replaced, so i got a £400 Samsung. After the first few hours i couldnt tell any difference.

Not a great deal to hand really. Is just one of those things that's been touted as "proof" of lil alien chappies visiting on the sly for years. Have a bit of a soft spot for UFOlogy so have come across the GayGrey a few times.
