Gibberings CXV: "I like a woman who talks like Paul Gascoigne"

Tories being cunts, whatever next?

Quite. Though they would never have had the opportunity had it not been for Clegg's band of merry opportunists and the fools who believed a Yellow vote would count.

Lib Dem voters, hang your heads in shame.

At least everyone knows the lib dems true colours now. Yellow is appropriate really, the cowards.

Couldn't agree more.

The shifty 2005 general election tactics (the most cynical I've ever witnessed) and the fucking Orange Book (which I guarantee 90% of the Lib Dem box-tickers never read, but is in fact the Clegg-era blueprint) should have been enough, but no.

Shows what contrived and superficial appeal to certain minorities and exploiting the lack of political nous in the young can achieve. A Tory government.

Indeed. The Lib Dems were always the party I least hated. Never particularly liked as such but if absolutely forced to vote they once would've got it. If absolutely forced to vote now... I just couldn't. Complete waste of oxygen the lot of 'em.

It's scary talking to people below a certain age who don't remember anything about the conservative governments we've had, talking about voting tory.

I think that was the case for lots of people who voted. The anti-war stance was admirable and won them lots of support, but all-too-easy from their position at the time. Does anyone honestly believe that the Libs would've stood up to Bush had they been in power?

During the 2005 election I lived in an area with a majority non-white population. They fielded a British-Pakistani Muslim candidate and made a big deal about their pro-immigration / anti-war stance.

In my mate's area they fielded a white candidate and expressed 'concerns' over immigration.

And that Orange Book - seriously, it's more Tory than Tory.

It's scary talking to people below a certain age who don't remember anything about the conservative governments we've had, talking about voting tory.

Isn't it just? I don't blame them as such, but they frighten me too.

Probably not. But I thought it would be good for them to get their chance in power given how bad the other two are. At least they were making pleasing noises on a number of issues. As politicians lying is obviously their natural way as with all parties but at least their starting point was far less offensive than the other two. Maybe - just maybe - we'd still get some improvements on a range of issues that they had the closest to a sane policy on out of the three parties. Even after all the watering down that would be inevitible because they were starting from a mostly quite sensible place they had further to go to completely fuck up than the other two which mostly start with shitty policies then make them even worse when in power. Nowt wrong with a modicum of optimism and hope for positive change now and then. They've made it perfectly clear that modicum of optimism and hope was completely misplaced so they won't be getting any more of it from me. Only fair they got the chance to show what they're really made of and now there's no doubt.

Remember the run-up to 1997? :)

It's easy to make pleasing noises, but much more difficult to deliver them, especially as the Clintonian 'Third Way' (i.e. wholesale privatisation with a kindly face) was the dominant political philosophy at the time.

Blair's undisguised admiration of Thatcher once he was elected didn't help Labour's cause, but yeah, I see your logic.

Unfortunately British politics doesn't tend to reward optimism, as we've now seen twice over in the past two decades.

Although it did have the knock-on effect of making Preservation Acts I & II (the much-loathed mid-'70s Kinks rock opera LPs) seem like the most eerily prescient pieces of vinyl ever. Or maybe that's just me.

Ya. Blair definitely made Labour a no-no. Gun to the head or summat I'd have to hold my nose and give Labour the nod as the Tories are obviously never an option for anything ever (aside from being put in stocks on street corners for entertainment purposes or summat). Labour are definitely a step up from Tories but there's not much there that would ever make voting for them anything more than a grudging acceptance of grim reality. Would be nice to have a party with some genuinely good policies though. Would definitely make politics a less depressing prospect. How'd ya like yer country run, sir? Badly or terribly? Great.

Gooood evening =D how is everybody? christmas come early, got some DMT, been meaning to give that stuff a visit for ages, also got friends who wanna try it and re-visit, lets see if i can get geometrically flying breaking all boundarys and blast off across the universe in a embrace of mothernature and budda in an uprocking feeling of euphoria.

Or you could just smoke the DMT and ditch the mix 'n' match hippy baggage. :D

Ha! =D

Could not have said it better meself. DMT is great. Nature is what it is - hardly a bed of roses (other than the beds of roses). And I don't recall Buddha being big on recreational drug use but may have missed that bit.

Other than that, enjoy the pretty things Dan :)

Some of the things ive experienced on it, absolutely fucking amazing, the ultimate, changed my perspective. scared the shit out of me

DMT will do that.

It's at this point that I get all smug and annoying and say you don't really know DMT till you've ingested it orally after MAOIs. Preferably pharmaceutical (at least in my sacriligeous, non-hippified opinion). In a pint of Coca-Cola. :D

Yes, I'm a disciple of Ismene on that front. Be afraid.

I just thought it was a good dunt :\

Yeah, I agree. Though I suppose if people want to assign some 'spiritual' significance to it, that's their bag.

I must admit that my early smoking experiences often involved 'meeting' a green woman with massive tits. If that's 'mother nature' then she's pretty filthy.

Not to mention unfussy about aggressively attempting sex with skinny wretches in a canal bywash.

found a lot of it depends on the extraction, smoked various similar stuff but the first blew my tits off, 2 hits and i broke through and was completely gone, barley managed the 2nd hit, wasnt held long, fucking wild, geometric stuff then dropped the pipe and went face first into the table, came back 15 mins later bent glasses pipe on the floor and was still midly tripping for awhile after, stuff morphing, other stuff i can rip it up and only get a mild shift with some heavy closed eye stuff going on, nowhere near a breakthrough like that as hard as i try, and some dirty shit which had the same effect and made me feel sick. if im still aware if my eyes are open or shut then it aint enough. its like comparing pre ban meph to the stuff after or something, fuck knows. extracted it myself a couple times and the crytals were pure white. but the best stuff i ever had was dark. odd

The darker stuff seems to contain 'impurities' that are possibly active in their own right. Certainly I've had 'dirty' DMT that was excellent when smoked.

Then again, white crystals are far cooler.

Perhaps your extraction technique is too good? :)

This is surprisingly common I've noticed. Forcible swirlsex with a Spice entitywomanelfthing is something I've read over and over from many different posters. Not necessarily green though - that one is far more associated with Salvia and is so common she's got a name (can't recall offhand but probably Green Goddess or summat similar). Descriptions of the DMT nymph are somewhat variable but the aggressive sex isn't. Not had that one meself yet but I live in hope ;)

Actually, it's stuff like that that leaves me still somewhat open-minded towards the entity bizniz. The standard hippy idea that these archetypal entities and recurring themes are there because these things have a real, tangible, independent existence "out there" somewhere just doesn't seem very likely to me. But the fact that some of these archetypes are so universal - even amongst people not previously exposed to the surrounding lore beforehand - and specific just doesn't seem to be very easy to explain away and dismiss out of hand either.

Is a truly fascinating aspect of certain psychedelics (which have their own separate and distinct set of specific archetypes) and, for me, a genuine mystery.
