Although I watch them and read their websites, both Al Jazeera and RT have an agenda just as strong as any Murdoch-owned media outlet, they just happen to belong to non-Western interests, so people used to getting the Fox news type of perspective might perceive them as being more balanced or honest.
RT does indeed cover a lot of stories American and British media don't speak about, but it's almost a mouthpiece of the Kremlin, freedom of the press in Russia isn't exactly ideal, however I do enjoy the fact they often voice opinion hardly heard on other channels.
Al Jazeera I used to like but came to hate it after the Syrian civil war, as it's basically a propaganda instrument for the Qatari regime, I despise the role the Gulf monarchies are having in Syria, arming and funding terrorists, murderers and religious fanatics, the country was once one of the most secular and socially modern, with better gender equality than most of other places in the region and now those zealots from the Gulf are funding medieval forces that would drag the country back a few centuries.
I watched Al Jazeera for years, the version in Arabic is even worse, extremely one sided and partisan.
