Despite some very dodgy clearly biased programs with a predetermined agenda like Panorama, i think the bbc really tries hard to present a neutral objective picture of events in most cases and it gives a free voice to politically very dangerous and well informed people like Ian Hislop on have i got news for you, Simon Cowell is twittering that Hislop should be sent to jail for 2 years for contempt of court. That would just make the man even more radical and determined than ever to get to the truth of matters and to inform the public. I feel that I should start reading Private Eye, before Hislop gets locked up, or it gets banned. He's earnt my respect and support and I think i should be putting my money where my mouth is. The BBC even allows people like Russel Brand to spout on passionately about Revolution.
I cant imagine such things ever being broadcast on state tv in Iran, North Korea, China or Russia. In fact i think they do such a good job of things like this (on the whole) that i dont resent paying my tv licence fee one bit. It's worth every penny of it. For every political statement one side makes, we get to hear the reply from the opposition, and the political editors are not biased on the news programs. They are equally critical of whichever party is in power, whether it be the Condem party or the Liebor party they get the same treatment. It also gives a free voice to all on Question time anyone prepared to pick up the mantle and speak out, all opinions are given a voice whether it be Nick Griffin, John Lydon, Will Self or that quite mad but extremely intelligent controversial historian (forgot his name).
