Thank fuck for that, finished one more college assignment, its a pile of uninspired crap, but it'll probably pass, what a fuckin chore that was. The next one, also due in on Monday looks quite a bit easier, and is gonna be a much briefer peace of work. The final assignment could actually be fun and cathartic if i get myself into the right frame of mind for it. I do like to turn in good peaces of work but sometimes its fuckin hard, like with this last one, the scope of it was so huge, i had trouble narrowing it down nad getting it organised. Most of it is pure plagairism. :\

New to me mate - honestly a landlord would not impose this charge and its your estate agent. I personally dont care about a deposit (its nothing and does not give you any security) - its estate agent jargon).
 
You don't get the holding fee back if they decide not to accept you as tenants.

So, basically, if someone else comes along that looks a better punt they take your money and fuck you off. There's some nice legal jargon to go round that but that's the bottom line.

It's not really much consolation to the would-be tenant that it's the agent and not the landlord who mandates such a fee! Landlords use agents, they should probably familiarise themselves with their agent's practices. Not calling you a cunt, Bearlove :D But the whole system is a cunt.

Oh yeah Pagey if you're reading this I think that person you call a tenant is in fact your landlord ;) (or maybe your co-tenant), a tenant is someone who pays rent to a landlord.

Have your references been approved? I promise you if your references are not approved the flat will go right back on the market and you won't see a penny of the holding fee back.

Aye but unicorn skin isn't all it's cracked up to be.

It occurs to me that maybe Glasgow agents are not quite the cunts that London agents are and maybe they will give you that back if your references don't come up good, but what I'm saying was true for the London agent I got a place through, they made it quite clear when I asked them. Glaswegian tenants are often scarier than London tenants.

Weird, innit? Two cans and that's me done. Been an odd day. Gonna get a shower and get into bed and listen to some music or summat. I just watched the live broadcast announcing the new WoW expansion so I feel like I should go hand in my druggie card and buy a gaming mouse.
 
Days all feel the same to me at the moment anyway, although today is the first day I've felt well enough to want to get a bit intoxicated in some way. I'm staying at my folks whilst I get better though, so it's not really appropriate. Might have a little toke on the weed pipe when they go to bed in a bit :)
