i like to think of myslef as more of a 'rebel' than 'bad' tbh. In my youth I was indeed very rebellious, though not in the same league as my uncle who burnt down the school doors and things like that and would empty out loads of fireworks onto his bed to make a massive explosion. I was allways very proud of my uncle, hes like a bear grylls figure to me, an action dardevil, walking across narrow water pipes across deep river ravines when there was a perfectly good bridge just 5 feet away. I was very puzzled by the cold reaction from the teachers when i asked them if they remembered my uncle. It seems they certainly did. I think this was before i was informed about some of the things he used to do at school

nah, your uncle just sounds cool, a free spirit. its much harder to be a good man than a bad one. nobody should aspire to the kind of people that fill prisons. they for the most part took the easy, short cut through life, it's easy to grow up in the shitter and use that to justify a life of crime - whereas working hard and pulling yourself out of the shite, and setting a good example to others - is the infinitely harder path and the true realm of the real man

We've all done it!

sorry to be pedantic, but i dont think everyone has. Certainly a large number of people here seemed to have taken reckless risky doses and its just sheer luck that there werent even more deaths than there allready have been. Im not going to name names, but its a pretty long list of people i could think of, including myself.

If you get it back then its its fine - never hear of this before though? Do you pay that ontop of your deposit - estate agents charge charge you and the landlord a months rent). If your not in a desperate rush - put a note through the door !

I had to pay a "holding deposit" to one of the estate agents in London when I was renting. It was the last place I rented there so I don't know if it was becoming standard practice or just that agent's policy. It certainly seemed like every time I moved there was another new fee or deposit to pay. And deposits (actual deposits, used to cover damage etc) were more often six weeks rent than a month.

There's a good chance that my tongue was very much in cheek when I made that post...

thankyou, he went on to have great success in his chosen career. Though his son & my cousin has trodden a much more dangerous path getting involved with drugs gangs and knives and actually puching a copper (allbeit accidentally, he was aiming at someone else when the copper burst in). He seems to have come through that now though thankfully and has settled down a bit.

All this makes it sound like i come from a 'problem family' but to all appearances my family was/are considered 'respectable'. Ive had periods of being the black sheep of the family where my uncles were strongly disaprooving when they discovered i had started smoking dope and taking mushrooms.

I honestly have never heard of this before ? I let properties (now unfurnished :D) have done for years, there is no 'holding fee' there is no other fees than a months deposit ? The landlord gets charged a months rent from the estate agent as a finders fee?

If I wanted to kill myself it wouldn't be hard. I don't want to kill myself, my comment was because of the stick I got for asking about it (along with a lot of 'be safe' comments) So my 'I'm still alive' was in response to that. Taking a drug that is very potent and potentially dangerous doesn't make it deadly if you are careful. Sorry my post was lost on you bearlove. I'm quite happy being alive thanks.

I guess it just depends on which estate agent your with, and the different areas have their territories where they've got the market more or less as a monopoly. The agent I'm talking about was Bairstow Eves. I'm not sure to what extent the local offices get to set their own fees and rules.

TD you didn't get "stick" you got "care and concern" ;)

Did I give you stick about it / did I give you any be safe comments -no. OK Glad the fent didn't kill you :) (your post was not lost on me far from it, the fact that you replied shows my post was not lost on you either )
