It was nice on this occasion. I'm not going to make a habit of it though. Think ive got a typerope to walk soon. Wallking through the valley of debt, unpaid council tax and imminent eviction.

Praying for a job.

Ive had a few ideas for businesses though. Ones dog walking lol. Im going to call the biz 'Leader of The Pack' :D

Explain more Sam

Although legacy doesn't mean much to me. nor does patriotic

Patriotic? We're not talking boundaries. We're talking soul.

Prior to forced Christianisation, Britain had a pantheon of gods to rival the Hindus and Egyptians. Ireland too. In fact, even Ireland's first church was regarded as heretical by Rome, but that's a long story.

The idea that these people were savages is a total fallacy, but their culture was largely destroyed systematically. Almost nothing remains from pre-Catholic Britain and only scraps of pre-Catholic Ireland, which was a global hotbed of scholarship on par with any Greek city.

We wuz sold a pup. The Empire never ended. Imperial Xtian atrocities.

i wish lol

pup?

re latrines. Aye we can fill it with shit. But also with living water and air. Love is in the air.*
And God and the kingdom abides in us if we've received Him.

*cough

Interesting stuff, im gonna have to look into it

our bodies are... a fuck load of things. the scale of it spins my brain. atoms, the bacteria living off us, everything is alive. die and get fed on, disintegrate into molecules and disperse, still to remain a part of everything forever. one big cycle

i aint too scared of death anymore, some ego death trips dmt and mxe have changed it. the thought of dying in my sleep i find a bit odd, i wanna actually know im about to die. embrace the fucker. feel time become meaningless and feel my whole existance become a moment

Good points Sam. Not that I know too much about it myself though. Christians seemed to have a habit of destroying the history/knowledge that was around before them. The world would possibly be a very different place if it wasn't for all that shit. So much knowledge lost. Loads of it probable bullshit right enough - dance around this fire with your dick out and it'll rain tomorrow type shit - but probably a hell of a lot of useful stuff as well. More useful than no fish on a Friday and priests shall only bum boys etc.

Down with Christians.

Christians made a point, the whole world over, of building on what were previously pagan sites. Total obliteration of the opposition ("there is only one God") is a tactic. World domination is their aim.

Down with Christians (other organised tellers of fairy tales are available) indeed.

The Mayans worshipped nature. They weren't all dancing around with their dicks out. They plotted the stars and calculated the exact position of the centre of the Earth (the Equator) to a degree of accuracy not matched until current GPS.

Your life and all the processes contained within are so insignificant as to disappear completely if we enlarge the scale sufficiently.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cosmicism

the human race will disappear. Other races will appear and disappear in turn. The sky will become icy and void, pierced by the feeble light of half-dead stars. Which will also disappear. Everything will disappear. And what human beings do is just as free of sense as the free motion of elementary particles. Good, evil, morality, feelings? Pure 'Victorian fictions'. Only egotism exists.

Lovecraft's cosmicism was a result of his complete disdain for all things religious, his feeling of humanity's existential helplessness in the face of what he called the "infinite spaces" opened up by scientific thought, and his belief that humanity was fundamentally at the mercy of the vastness and emptiness of the cosmos.

How can good evil morality and feelings be victiorian fictions? I'd be willing to bet there's plenty people in this world have never heard of, nor had any slight influence whatsoever from, the victorians who still have these same thoughts/feelings.

The Victorians did not dominate the world.

I don't think this is what your quote really mean. I think I'm just interpreting it wrong. Could you maybe explain it better for a clown like me? To me is says that some remote tribe somewhere, no outside influence, has no concept of good, evil, morality or feelings. Which is blatantly untrue.

I agree with all of this part right enough, just not the end - "the human race will disappear. Other races will appear and disappear in turn. The sky will become icy and void, pierced by the feeble light of half-dead stars. Which will also disappear. Everything will disappear. And what human beings do is just as free of sense as the free motion of elementary particles."

The one things that humans need to understand is their insignificance. This planet was around for a fucking long time before us and will be for a long time after us. We are nothing but a tiny little speck on it's history. And this planet is the same in comparison to the universe. And I'm pretty sure this universe is the same in comparison to whatever it is, that is unfathomable to us, that the universe exists in.

Getting deep for a Saturday morning. I need a dooby.

maybe that's why Victorian fictions is in ' '.

And they may not have dominated the world but they got as far as Australia, which is half way round.

I was tempted to edit out the "Pure 'Victorian fictions'" bit, but decided not to botch Lovecraft's quote. The quote is from the early 20th century--victorian fiction back then was just a synonym for sentimental pulp. All emotional processes within man are just tiny little sentimental pulp stories, overshadowed by a fundamental driving force of "egotism", is what I'm reading it as.

"The one thing humans need to understand is their insignificance"

And our egos prevent us from doing so. They are in direct opposition to the very idea. Our egos even invented a supreme being, like us but supreme, let's call HIM God, to create evidence that it's all about US. Animals don't get into heaven. The world is ours. Even the dead world, coz were not dead, just in heaven. Without the cockroaches.

Of course it's bollocks. Were created with a consciousness and imagination that needs to understand and explain everything but is prevented from doing so by having the handicap of seeing ourselves at the centre. The meaning we find has to be ours. For us. That's how you got God. (That and the need to shit on the previously worshipped female side of things, but that's another story).

Without our egos we are at one with that from which we came. Our egos make us seperate, alone. With our egos we are always in conflict with that from which we came. To the ironical and paradoxical extent of having the ability and will to destroy everything we want to rule over and may one day do just that.

Ah sorry man. I read "Victorian Fiction" as meaning "Lies told by Victorians" lol.

Well said man. Extreme arrogance really. We are the greatest. It is all for us. The meaning of life has to be for us. Blah blah blah. Bullshit. We are just a temporary blight on the existence of this world. A tiny blip in history. We've only been here for a minute in the grand scheme of things and we'll only be here for a minute more and end up long forgotten.

Dan - That's exactly my thoughts. We don't fucking matter. As Bill Hicks said "We're a virus with shoes".

Edit - Im a hypocrite though. I believe strongly in all these things, but I don't act like it.
