Gibberings CLXXXVII - Shamming The Docs Summat Rotten

The cat is actually completely black but he's done a bit of rolling around.

No wonder he doesn't want to leave; he is in a massive K-hole.
 
Afternoon EADD,

Thought it was about time I came out my hibernation! How are you all getting on? Well I hope... :)

I'm off to see the Australian Pink Floyd Show tonight with the old man.... quite looking forward to it. It's one of those strange ones where both my Dad & I like a band so can go together. Plus it was his Christmas present, not mine... so I'm doing well to be going along for free on his extra ticket. Seen them once before a few years back so not the first time but that won't take away from it all.

I guess he's going to stay around for a while. He's either got good owners somewhere, or has a good house-call routine because he's rather porky.

I've got some messages sent out by people who have facebook accounts so, if he does have an owner, they'll hopefully see it and come get him. I'll give it a couple of weeks and, if he's still around, take him to the vet to make sure he's healthy. It's been a long time since I've had a cat and it's great having one about :D

I'd say I'm definitely recuperating slowly, so making progress which is what is important. :)

As for multi-generational socials... yeah, they can be refreshingly fun actually. Totally different sort of chat & banter to be had from them. Not that I haven't enjoyed getting rat-arsed down the pub with friends in the past but it can be rather amusing to hear stories that come from the older generations after they have had a bit of liquid persuasion... :D

*edit* - dirty cunt indeed Sammy. Only you would think that way... :p

Today I am mostly learning how much of a bad idea it was to spend the last month after my surgery topping up my codeine prescription with 300mg+ a day of dodgily-sourced DHC. Codeine ran out a couple or days ago and I'm recovered from the op well enough now for a trip back to the docs to be seen as blatant drug seeking. Thought I'd see what happened if I didn't order more DHC in, since it's getting pretty expensive and the guy I get it from is a sketchy fucker. Now I feel like shit! Can't seem go get warm, feeling nauseous constantly, stoma is dumping out pure liquid regardless of how much Loperamide I take (prescribed this at max daily dosage for the stoma but it doesn't work great at the best of times, codeine is so much better - going to ask the doc if there is anything I can do about this, although I'm not expecting longterm codeine to be on the cards, despite it being fairly common for stoma patients in the US). I'm also sleepy as fuck, only got up for breakfast and lunch today - have been asleep since then!

Anyone got any handy tips? Want to get through this rather than going back to codeine or DHC. I've got etiz, xanax and weed, so will be getting on a combination of at least 2 of those later...
 
Hmm, well u can either benzo yourself out of misery, deal with it head on and suffer, or take a minimised dosage of codeine like a 1pk CWE reducing by 50mg every 2 days, or get yourself codeine linctus as its online still,err .. so i heard ;)
 
I don't know if watching indie pop from the 80s is a good thing or bad thing for melancholia. just making me wishI just had pocket money and records to spend it on and no other worries but me own gcses rather than a load of other people young uns gcses.

With codeine and being your first time I'd try to end this while you can. My impression is that if you keep coming back to it, you may only expect worse symptoms and soon you'd be upgrading your opiates need. I've been there, done that.. My best advice would be to keep good distance from these sort do meds and move on while you can.
