Gibberings CLXXXVII - Shamming The Docs Summat Rotten

No He's clever..really quick, seems quite spiritual and soulful...and is really bloody handsome. ooh swoon.

He's mentally ill, and irresponsible with it. Whether he's handsome is moot - not my type, and I think he's got a seedy hippie look about him.

Russell brand speaks sense.. His trews series is excellent. Highlighting issues with society, trying to open peoples eyes to the way things are run, corporations, media propaganda, getting people questioning, etc, nowt wrong with that. George carlin & bill hicks spring to mind. Anybody who knocks that should go have a lil word with themselves

I was sixteen once too. :)

It was a blast.

You're fortunate you've found drugs that level you out Sam. Most of the pills I've tried for my polishness just make me feel worse. I haven't read the article but I'd venture His Grace Mr Brand feels the same.

Well I've got company coming around, a friend ( yep I have one) whose home is always immaculate, so I need sort this midden of a flat out.

Ed: I don't think the drugs work on me because I think ive been misdiagnosed. I think its PTSD x :D

Perhaps Russells the same.

Perhaps neither Russell nor you are qualified to make that diagnosis? :)

"I've never had a sustained period of medication for mental illness when I've not been on other drugs as well. It's just not something that I particularly feel I need. I know that I have dramatically changing moods, and I know sometimes I feel really depressed, but I think that's just life."

What a fucking halfwit. So he's never given meds a chance, and he's willing to minimise the day-to-day problems of thousands of sufferers around the world.

Irresponsible, smug little git.

I respectfully disagree, I'm qualified by living with the bloody condition. ( whatever it is)

'sometimes feeling 'a bit depressed' is pseudo bi polar/manic depression lite...Definitely a misdiagnosis..

Feeling a bit depressed is feeling a bit depressed. There's no bipolar without (hypo)mania, and sustained episodes at that. That goes for raging bipolar (mine) all the way down the spectrum.

NE, I don't mean to be nasty, but you can't diagnose yourself. It's nonsense.

No I know you don't Sam bless you... My experience with anti psychotics/psychiatry has been nonsense..really! I'll wriite a blog about it or something later because its longgggg.

I'm glad pills (eg anti psychotics et al) work for some people. But they just do not for me. I lead a fairly er sedentary life when i'm on an even keel but at least I can get out a bit, I occasionally have the energy to clean my house/do a bit of work etc.

Pills just sentence me to the sofa lol.. but all the time. Not just for an hour or so of pondering. And i'm pretty harmless, most people would testify to that...ok I've just discovered a demon bitch that I didn't know was in there but I think I can keep her under control ..in the absence of someone who can do deliverance on me ( and ive considered finding someone like that on many of an occasion).

Gotta press on really... this house smells of cats* wee something chronic.

*glare to someone who knows who he is grrr.

Fair enough, but a glance at some of your posts recently would be enough to convince anybody that you're perhaps not at your most stable.

At the end of the day, it's a personal choice, but not taking psychiatric medication kills thousands of people every year. Mr Brand should perhaps consider that fact before making such a moronic statement.

.....so i was already nodding out at my desk so i did the most responsible thing in that position...went to the disabled loos had another couple of points ,went to my car and had 2 hours of radio 4 with very brief interludes of lucidness, very nice, now only an hour or so before home time and as I am now the only one in my team here I can spend that time wisely looking at my fave web forum (rigorous intuition) and FB and here tho' i will exit after this post.. : )

Mrs Night, Sammy G speaks sense. If it wasn't for my psychiatric cocktail I'd be dead. It's taken years to get the meds right, they may never be 100% but with good lifestyle choices I'm getting there.

Ask for a new psychiatrist - insist. Times and meds n' combos of meds move on and there may be better out there for you. I've recently been re diagnosed too. I don't like talking too much on here about it as its so private but you need to take charge of your mental health and get the right thing done for yourself hun <3

.

I was off my face!!!! ( that was realy high pitched in my head when I first read your post. lol)

Kate he does speak sense at times yeah but right now after trying just about every pill in the book I've decided to take a break. I'll still speak to the cpn and go to the appointments but i'm disillusioned with psychiatric meds atm..at least their efficacy with slaying my personal dragons.

Anway Spirings around the corner. Last year around this time I had a little part time job/started on my allotment and enjoyed a balanced, stable state of mind right up to about Novemberish.

Is Russell Brand an imperfect force for good (like the rest of us should aspire to be), or is he actually one of the bad guys?

The fact that he's an addict with mental health problems should make him the last person to deserve any derision from anyone on here. Especially not from someone with a damn sight more in common with him than not.

Come on. :D

Having mental health problems is one thing. Making highly irresponsible and insensitive comments about medication and the conditions themselves is another.

Have a go at him on his Twitter or YouTube if you feel strongly about it.

I'm not disagreeing with you, by the way. I do think some of the stuff he says is misguided.

Wow, I didn't realize the guy was such a touchy subject with some of you. I don't know a lot about the guy, his psyche or his views furthermore, just thought this particular video was a very concise, albeit not very original, analysis on reporting on muslim vs. non-muslim violence in (most significantly) American news outlets

RB may not have all the answers and have a scattergun aproach but at least he says it how he sees it and rips TPTB and other tossers tp pieces.
