I'm feeling quite a bit better now. Phoned in my early loraz refill. Have the doc's rescheduled for tomorrow, and will try to go to school tomorrow, if only to see my friends.
 
This stuff seems to be pretty good, never heard of it till I tried it for sleep and while on codeine the other day. Sounds like a benzo in its effects profile, but its a first gen antihistamine with apparently none of the abuse/addiction problems. "Hydroxyzine has shown to be as effective as the benzodiazepine drug bromazepam in the treatment of generalised anxiety disorder".

It was prescribed for sleep aid in this case.

Hydroxyzine (/haɪˈdrɒksɨziːn/; sold as Vistaril, Atarax) is a first-generation antihistamine of the diphenylmethane and piperazine class. It was first synthesized by Union Chimique Belge in 1956 and was marketed by Pfizer in the United States later the same year,[2] and is still in widespread use today.

Due to its antagonistic effects on several receptor systems in the brain, hydroxyzine is claimed to have strong anxiolytic and mild antiobsessive as well as antipsychotic properties.[3] Today it is used primarily for the symptomatic relief of anxiety and tension associated with psychoneurosis and as an adjunct in organic disease states in which anxiety is manifested. Because of its antihistamine effects it can also be used for the treatment of severe cases of itching, hyperalgesia and motion sickness-induced nausea, it has also been used in some cases to relieve the effects of opioid withdrawal.[4][5] Even though it is an effective sedative, hypnotic, and anxiolytic, it allegedly shares virtually none of the abuse, dependence, addiction, and toxicity potential of other drugs used for the same range of therapeutic reasons. Hydroxyzine has also been used to potentiate the analgesia of opioids and to alleviate some of their side effects, such as itching, nausea, and vomiting.

Yeah, they can feel pretty good. Especially as a mixer with other stuff. Promethazine is my fav from that class (sedating anti-histamines). I feel like a ten ton spudsack if I overdo them though and that hangover lasts forever. But take a reasonable amount and it's a decent potentiator, or a sleep aid/relaxant on it's own. IMO. Some tolerance will build with these things, btw, so long term daily use won't work well.
edit: just seen the wiki, I didn't know it has no antichlorinergic effects (unlike prometha). Interesting. Can't remember it standing out much, maybe I should give it another try.
 
Promethazine hangovers are not good. One time I took 60 mg. of the stuff (three "one a night" 20mg. pills). Slept like a baby, but had a head like cotton wool all the following day.

There is one antihistamine that, supremely ironically, I'm actually allergic to. That's the one that was in Piriton Syrup in the 1970s; which, despite the warnings that it might cause drowsiness, used to make me hyperactive. A child single figures years old does not need anything like Speed.

I ended up on a hay fever drug called Rynacrom; which came in gel capsules that were snorted using a device with a rubber bulb and a sharp spike which pierced the capsule and released the powder when the base was pushed in, and shot it up your nostril when squozen. That sort of thing would be ace for snorting powders, if they still existed. Unfortunately, the rubber soon perished.

1 mg. Etizolam had done nothing for me. Going to try another one .....

I've never stepped on him Pete honest (as far as I know) theyre all so tiny up there and im not.

He lean't me a couple of forks, we chit (chit I did mean chit) chatted about samarais and the war..he shook his head a lot...

No wonder he has to sleep in a glass house.
