Morphine sulpahate amps, oramorph, midazalam amps, diazapam amps and ketamine vials.......but guarded with a slightly higher level of security than the crown jewels......honestly robbing your nearest TSB and going out and buying your own would be far easier.

Your chances of getting caught would probably be lower too.
 
Do things ever go missing despite the tight security? I would imagine there must be sorts coming through the hospital who would try anything to get their hands on some of those things.
 
Well from a hospital I can't really say cos I don't work in one but there's no chance of a patient stealing anything from an ambulance since they're in a locked cabined and its such a small space you wouldn't exactly miss it. As for staff every milligram is accounted for and the individual paramedic is responsible for what he or she has been issued with and things like breakages or spillages would be reported and investigated by clinical investigation people. When drugs reach the end of their shelf life they have to be destroyed by specially nominated medicines management people and witnessed by 2 people. Its very tight. In hospitals I imagine its a bit easier for things to go missing but not much.
After the Harold Shipman business the controls around who has access to CDs tightened up massively.
If you think about how many doctors, nurses, paramedics, chemists etc there are and have been over the years then every possible scenario will have either been tried or anticipated and procedures put in place to stop them happening. There are people (medicines management and medicines optimisation teams) whos sole job day in and day out is to think of safety procedures and safeguards to stop some scally from fucking off with a couple of boxes of morphine or whatever. I'm not saying its impossible but things are very, very tight nowerdays and if you tried you'd almost certainly get caught. Although you still have to place a certain amount of trust in medical people not to do stuff like that. And trust is like virginity......once its gone you can't get it back.

Aye a cunt he was for sure. Was just reading s book about him the other day. How he managed to do all that is just fucking unbelievable. Apparently with the drugs he would falsely claim that a patient had cancer, prescribe then a sit load of diamorphine amps (which he would keep) then when he'd stockpiled enough tell them that there had been a mix up at the lab and they were OK. Meanwhile he had acquired hundreds of heroin amps legit from a pharmacy using prescriptions in that persons name.

Thing that makes that even more unbelievable was that he had already been busted once back in the 70s for forging pethadine scripts for himself to use as he liked a quiet dig himself. He was just given a "telling off" and moved practice's though. I'm sure they said he'd almost certainty killed 250 but likely as high as 400 over the course of his career.

What it really emphasised to me is how people unquestioningly trust medical personnel and if you go to hospital or call an ambulance or whatever and the doctor/nurse/paramedic stands there with a syringe and asks for your arm to give you a shot 99% of people would unquestioningly stick out their arm and most wouldn't even ask what was in the shot (even more so for old people who tend to trust doctors imicitly)

Still a total cunt though I agree.

I went to college in the town where he had his practice. We used to sing 'Doctor Doctor' by UFO through the surgery window to annoy him. I was on familiar terms with one of his sons.

All right before it kicked off too. Nobody believed it.

Been a few months since I tried heroin... I'm all for sharing but unfortunately, I think Birmingham is a little far away. Would be able to buy a lot for the price it'd take to get down. :p

That more than answered my question! Do you not spend much time in the hospital other than at the start & end of the day then? Or do you have a separate area for paramedics from that for Doctors etc. My knowledge of such things doesn't extend further than seeing Casualty over the years... ;)
