Aside from the rather dubious nature of posting excerpts from chat logs again without bothering to disguise the usernames despite it being pointed out it's a shitty thing to do (and could well be construed as infringing the BLUA which does have a clause about posting what could be argued is copywrite material - unless you are both people in that conversation) is there a particular point being made here? Other than somebody apparently lost somebody else... not quite sure what is meant by that though given it's a spiritual forum where "losing" somebody can mean virtually anything the person saying it happens to disapprove of.

My parents lost me regularly as a child. In shops, out walking, cos I tried running away (across the Big Road too 8o) and so forth. They always found me reasonably soon afterwards, mind.

And we don't "deny" spirituality here anyway. We have an entire subforum dedicated to matters of philosophy and belief. We have more than one thread even in EADD on these topics. In what sense is that "denying" spirituality?

Also, we wouldn't want to go losing people now would we.

Eh? Shambles ive only read your post nut agree there. We have a whole sub-forum for spirituality n philosophy. Edit: Raas how many times have I give you the link to our spirituality n Philosophy forums? When you were upset those times that you take time here to research n outline an argument in the theo thread n certainmembers would slam you down with "Raas is talking bollocks again !" Can you please, at least take time to look through that sub-forum before you say BL rejects spirituality. I, myself, have created a thread based on spirituality only recently - and there has been a lot of interesting discussion there. Have you actually looked? You're making assumptions. I've been exploring my spirituality as late with my issues with opiate adfiction, and BL has helped me tremendously.

I'm feeling guilty now for taking 10 mg of sub very guilty n my head hurts.

Raas i can see what Lyn is saying there. She lost someone. They are scared of discussion where they may lose members. Surely you see that????

Raas I'm asking you as a friend please at least disguise people's usernames when you put logs up. Haven't you learnt anything at all? I'm not trying to go at you, truly I'm not. Also you're jumping to conclusions. Read those chat logs again, with empathy - and take your thoughts out of the equation.

Agreed, pathetic as is Facebook. I agree use it to IM snolly n put the odd moan on. I certainly won't put such a stupid thing on my timeline when I've family on there who are EXTREMELY private people. In fact if ever I add any from here onto Facebook I warn them first mention BL on my Facebook page n you're instantly blocked!

Yea you're probably right n he's not the sort to try n hurt or give out confidential info. He may have already changed the name. That aside, I'm a bit frustrated with him as numerous times I've tried explaining to him about the philosophy n spirituality sub-forum here at BL n advised him to go n check it out.
Theres some real good stuff there; deep n interesting. And thus he can discuss both drugs n spirituality, something he seems to be trying to seek out in himself.

But you know what they say - you can take a horse to water but can't make it drink.

Raas: sorry about talking to you in second person. I've been to a lot of those spiritual sites myself, both chat n forum, and for obvious reasons they have to be strict. There's a LOT of vulnerable people who participate in them; mainly people who have lost loved ones such as children. I had a lot of admirable for some of those people who had experienced such pain n yet turned their life into such positivity through the use of spirituality n spiritualism.

as for facebook... how good it is depends how who you have on your list. & it isnt massively different from using a forum

Raas' chat log = The reason he has posted that is because he has clearly been having a debate with someone on a spirituality forum about them allowing drug discussion. What he said was the spirituality forum should allow drug discussion just as we allow spirituality discussion.

The Facebook thing = Urbain already clarified. That message comes up if someone reports one of your Facebook posts and marks the reason as 'Drugs'. No great mystery.

I'll be here most of the day if you need a semi-intelligent take on anything else.
 
Does anyone know if I'm able to change a title of my thread?

I'd like my 'Codeine Addiction" Thread to change to something that includes addictions to "weaker opiates," such as Dihydrocodeine (DHC) n Tramadol. I know Trams is synthetic but these are the three main 'opiate'-based painkillers in the UK.

FRom discussion with various like- minded people, they feel they benefit from people going through similar as opposed to "people on street drugs," their words not mine. Addiction is addiction as far as I'm concerned.

But I'd like people who are, say searching Google, to see a searching thread n feel that they're able to seek help from it. As we know our services for recovery are much different to other countries hence my reasoning for creating that thread - and the maintenance threads here - I created them for anyone who needs help not just me.

So if anyone has any good names to change it to I'll ask the mods if they'll change it, if I'm unable to - but I've never seen an option for it.

There's no need for this PTCH. I'm aware of what Raas was saying n gave a clear answer as to why that is. Have you been to those sort of sites? A lot of them are suffering grief n loss, some of them had loved ones die of drugs. Those places are meant to be a "safe place " for them to talk without triggering content. It is what it is. And it's why, on numerous occasions I've suggested to Eaas to visit the spiritual sub-forum here. Where drugs are allowed , obviously.

That makes a lot of sense. Getting your 'fix' OTC in Boots, or off some online pharmacy, is a world of difference from standing about on a street corner for 45 minutes waiting for the man, or creeping around some grotty skag den while some arsehole mugs you off for a tenner bag.

The addiction might be very similar, but the world the addict is forced to inhabit is wildly different.

That's partly my point as to why I created the codeine addiction thread but I don't want it called otc or owt like that because some people purchase them illicitly. But my current title excludes Tramado addiction n Dehrydrocodeine addiction. It would be nice for those people to come to my thread n get support as like iit or not , there are people with stereotypical beliefs n only feel that they are able to discuss with "like-minded" people going through what they're going through.

If we could help, would be ace, right?!

Morning All,

Had my last appointment with the shrink today... seems to think I'll be fine if I keep on the SSRIs for a while. Good things are moving in the right direction. :)
