I never understood the stretches of roads on the motorway with the "Average Speed Checks" of 50mph, how is that ment to save time?

What makes you think it's meant to save time? It's not. It's meant to stop you being able to watch out for cameras and get down to the limit before you pass them, and speeding up again once you're over the lines on the road. It's enforcement. The devil's work. Very effective. Normally in use at roadworks.

I have never been ticketed by average speed cameras because they tend to be used where it's actually quite reasonable to slow down. Cunts in vans on the other hand are out meeting targets and raking in fines.

Check this crazy shit out

Bull chase

Sheeeeeeeeyt, so many of them just having a bit of a doddle thinking they are getting away from the bull and BAM.. unconscious.

It's the older guys/slower guys that I feel bad for. Especially old roof man. And unlucky rope tangle guy.

Loads of red blotches appearing as well where the horn has obviously gored them pretty deep.

Ah I was sort of getting the changing the limit to 60mph article and average speed checks mixed up, it says in the article. Its been in use at "roadworks" for the past 3-4 years though on the stretch of motorway I use :\ , I am sure though even then you can speed up and slow down for them yellow cameras if reaaaaly wanted to.

It also said the change would bring "reduced congestion, increased capacity and improved journey time reliability for users of the motorway".

jesus that guy in the white tshirt around 1:20 was pretty smart the way he tried to weave and zig zag away from the bull but unfortunately not quite smart enough. Some of those bulls were mad bad tempered, just one gore spear ram wasnt enough, some of them attacked the same person repeatedly, quite shocking what some people do for sport.

We've seen it !! How close did you get to the person who was filming towards the end ? You seemed to very nearly swipe him out.

I hate speed limits too, especially on umfamillar roads where you dont have the local knowledge thats where the coppers hide to speed trap you. Its not safe to assume just because every one else is speeding you can too, the average speed cameras have been known to nick dozens of drivers at a time, and those yellow box thingies get so many drivers at traffic lights and other areas that they run out of film. Bus lane fines are the worst, even if your in a bus lane for 1 second to use it as a slip road to enter the main lane you get done.

There's a cunt of a junction in Walthamstow, a yellow box just before some traffic lights, but also right at the top of a road my gf's son used to live in. Both gf and her son have been busted there, £70 fine for having half a fucking wheel touching the yellow box.

Doesn't get me coz I'm untouchable for some reason. No points, no fines, though currently waiting for the 14 days they have to get you to expire after seeing a fucking filth trap car too late on a bridge just before the Severn bridge last week.

Also when did police start doing background checks on witnesses?? They interviewed 210 people after a brawl outside a london nightclub, half of the "witnesses" were found to have criminal convicitons. The club has now been shut down adding that it attracted the "lowest of the low".

Sure theres a media thread somewhere, just cant find it. Also a funny pictures and videos one somewhere

I'd imagine that if you did background checks on people hanging around outside (or inside for that matter) any average meatmarket-type club of a weekend you'd find at least half of 'em have some kinda criminal record. Don't really see what the story is here. Admittedly I've not bothered to clicky the linky to read the story but all the same...

Thats tempting fate to say that mate. One lad in my old work place had one of those super fast motorbikes, he didnt realise he was getting done for speeding on 4 successive days, and all the letters were in the post, resulting in a ban when they were all totalled up. I think i may have ran 2 or 3 successive red lights when i got lost and stressed to fuck on the city centres one way system recetly. Im gonna give it another week before i can say ive got away with it, i dunno if any of those lights had cameras on them, as i very rarely drive into the city centre, its like £4 just to park for 10 minutes, its a fucking nightmare all round.

Yowzers. Y'know those half-silvered bits of card you get to microwave those lil Chicago Town pizzas on? I never thought they made much difference (the new ones that are just flat discs anyway - the old ones actually worked) but just microwaved such a beast and put it on an upside-down plastic thingy so it was easier to get out. Microwave pinged, went to get it out and found the plastic had melted and stuck to the underside of the cardboard. Blimey that must be conducting some heat... although apparently to the wrong thing :!

EDIT: It's probably relevant to mention plastic thingy is microwavable and never melted onto stuff before.

EDIT2: I said relevant not interesting.

Ello all <3~:)~<3

I was fucking lucky earlier on to remember that I had an appointment with the work placement program dude (he's fuckin ace :) ) early this month and managed to find a letter with the date on it - It's tomorrow 8(
My brain must be working in some capacity! 8o

Got me some cider and shall get an early night and early morn wake-up.

Love to you all! <3 I hope the beginning of this month in treating you well (I could grumble [more] but I won't).

you mean id have been better spending my energy trying to get a job ?

I did, i couldnt get one. I applied for about 500 jobs, no exxageration. And then i was finally advised by one of my support workers to concentrate on quitting bupe and benzos before getting a job. Im gonna quit bupe first, but quitting benzos will take too long as im gonna do a very gradual taper. I'll be trying to get a job again once im out of the woods with bupe, but whilst tapering etiz.

Apologies I was just being flippant and didnt drop back in to follow up, I kinda meant that if you had been working you wouldnt have been so bothered about the temperature in the house ( you would be at work most of the time ) and the £100 may well have been less of an issue ( and likely less for the other reason )... I don't have you down as slacker any more than I read the Telegraph:D

One the subject of average speed cameras, IME they work well on motorways when triggered by traffic density or during roadworks, which mostly amounts to the same thing.

lower speed = smoother traffic flow and a greater throughput of vehicles when traffic is heavy

This has been proven by monitoring in a number of locations, I live near the busiest part of the M1 and traffic flow during a lengthy roadworks to widen the road were better than before due to the average speed camera restriction.

I've only been caught on a speed camera (mobile) once, in a car, rushing to get to Crown Court.......for fekin jury service

Lol =D Done that before but with a styrofoam base whilst very drunk, ended up eating half of it before I realised it was melted onto the pizza and spent the next few hours obsessively googling 'will eating styrofoam kill me?'.

Ah yeah see what you mean, in truth i would rather be working during the winter, it's really shit being unemployed at this time of year. Other times of year, it depends what drugs im taking as to what id rather be doing, would rather not be working when the weather is really nice, just like everybody else really.
