ah im jealous. I'm looking forward 2 - 3 months when by then i plan to have been opiate free for long enough to start using them just recreationally again, having well and truly learnt my lesson about dependency.

well thats what all my keyworkers and 'sensible people' keep telling me. I know it would be wiser, and its treading on thin ice and all that, but as long as i can just keep it to an occasional treat then that will be all good. I really dont want to forbid myself something forever which i now know is one of lifes pleasures, of course if i go and get myself addicted all over again then ill know that its not possible for me to use them recreationally. Im prepared to take that chance.

Granted you seem to be able to manage your use, in terms of not getting addicted far better than i did, when i first sampled opis in the form of odt, it crept up on me and caught me unawares, and about 2 years later im still struggling to get off them. You must admit though that we're all fallible to some extent ? I mean you give me advice that you are not adhering to yourself, even if you are giving me that advice with the best of intentions which i believe you are. I dont mean to start any sort of heated argument with you, i hate such things, but if its not too rude of me to ask or challenge you, why dont you take your own advice ? It's not that easy is it.

I think you misunderstood Sam, he's saying "it's not that easy". I don't think he's saying "I'm good at chipping but you're not". I think he's saying "I always said I'd never inject but look at me now, covered in holes".

Im not doubting that Sam knows what he's talking about. Some of the 'proffessionals' however are another matter. I can see where you're coming from though, and why it may look like im a no hoper who's kidding himself. I may be. I may not be.

thanks for clarifying what you meant by the bump. Im glad i used the time to take a break and have a shower, rather than continue to make a further fool of myself. I think I'm sort of beginning to face some truths i didnt want to have to face.

I do think you're being a tad optimistic (to say the least) if you really think that planning your first use of opies after the break in use of opies that you are still working towards achieving is perhaps a lil hint that chipping may not be a viable option right now... or probably at all, MDB. There's a gazillion and one junkies in the world who are still working on getting that right... there may even be on or two out there who did... but can't say I've come across 'em yet. It's not a "you" thing, MDB, it's a "human" thing. Opies are addictive as all fuckery, trying to use purely recreationally - especially once you have had an addiction - is kinda asking for trouble really. Unfortunately
Personally, I'd humbly suggest focussing on your current tapering situation cos it's gonna take all your energies to work that - is not an easy thing and you've been doing really well recently from the bits I've seen. Have come a long way already - look forwards not backwards

I consider myself extremely lucky that after failing to hold out on my initial quit attempt, just 0.2 of bupe per day holds me, and my tolerance wasnt raised much by a 2 week run back on the stuff. At least this means that i havent got a long way to come down all over again, and i am really just 1 or 2 steps away.

What are you going to do with yourself Dan? All I seem to read is you taking one sort of a drug or another day in day out. A lot of them making you feel really bad!
