Yeah, we've been through this before on this board, and I sent my blood panels to two or three people who PM'ed me and \asked to see them. They showed conclusively that GBL and/or GHB consumption directly impacts potassium levels. Its that simple. Monitored by a doctor, multiple tests taken over several months, heavy use. Tested both GHB and GBL. Potassium levels dropped, period. Significantly.
Mild acidosis also occurred with GBL. Irrevocable evidence. A direct, purposeful study of blood panels with several of my friends taking GBL showed identicle results -- lower potassium , mild acidosis. Occurred over several weeks with heavy use. Doctors all concurred that GBL consumption was the direct cause.
Furthermore, by supplementing GBL consumtion with an alkalyzing agent (green kamut ) and potassium (white grapefruit juice or potassium citrate -- either will work and grapefruit is the better choice), the effects disappeared completely. Also, the amount of green kamut ingested did not result in excessive or rapid alkalyzation, just stability, suggesting that the alkalyzing effects were being countered by something -- which would be the GBL consumption.
I know that Fastandbulbous gives a compelling scientific argument against this possibility, but I submit respectfully that Fastandbulbous is theorizing, whereas I have directly examined the empirical data. My observations and direct experience conflict with Fastandbulbous' theory.
Perhaps there is a process that we have yet to understand about GBL metabolism. We know that the pH of urine is affected. This, in and of itself, is indicative of a process not covered by Fastandbulbous' theory.
In any event, I do not want to start a flame war, or even communicate any disrespect, but I think it is irresponsible to advise that GBL consumption CANNOT result in either acidosis or potassium depletion. One must at least take the position that it is possible, but not yet understood, if for no other reason than because the body of empirical and anecdotal evidences strongly suggest this to be the case.
Peace.
