^^we should try to link up down souf
i can prolly answer some of your queries:
1) We are flying into Ft. Lauderdale - is it fairly easy and short trip to Miami
under an hour if im not mistaken
3) Obviously Miami is a party town, but is this week special? I mean is there something going on every night/day at any given time?
absolutely! dude there are like 5 awesome events everynight. this is all in addition to the beach, hotel, and pool parties that will just kinda pop up during the day. your best bet is to find the events you cant miss and buy tickets but plan to keep some spare time for things that just kind of get thrown together.
7) Any advice or suggestions on the whole thing?
yeah i have a few suggestions
~first off, make sure you have tickets for the shows that you know for sure you want to attend. many of them will sell out.
~one thing that i'll prolly be purchasing this year is a "space pass". its good for admission into club space for 3 wmc events some of which can run up near 100 dollars the night of the show.
~be prepared to have your attire questioned. miami is pretty glam and snooty and while the clubs do relax dresscode during the conference it cant hurt to be prepared (ie have clothes other than tshirts jeans and trainers)
~plan to spend a fuckload of money. the only time i attended wmc i was on a shoestring budget and it was kind of a bummer. if you can approach the weekend with a relaxed attitude towards spending you'll have a better time.
for some solid info and some inside dish from miami locals you should check out the wmc forum on http://www.cooljunkie.com/forums/index.php?board=15
hope this helps and i'll see you there
