I am sick to death of video game companies treating me like I am an autistic eight year old helen keller with polio. Graphics DO NOT MAKE A GAME! I couldn't care less about the story line! If I want a story, i will read a book or watch a movie! what i want is a game that challenges me both in terms of cool combat challenges as well as something that actually makes you use your brain:

example:

God of War.

this is without a doubt the greatest game ever made. the fighting is sick, the puzzles are tricky, and you actually have to learn your character's new abilities in order to overcome new challenges. the second one was also amazing. I preferred 1, but 2 was still excellent. not enough puzzle stuff for my liking, but still cool.

Games like fallout are just retarded, imo. I felt like the entire thing (yes, all 12 hours of it) was spent doing chores. I kept playing it in the hopes that it was eventually going to get cooler when all of a sudden it just randomly ended. I honestly thought I fucked up somehow and got a random short version death, but nope, that was ACTUALLY all there was to it. and I am simply not interested in searching through the wasteland to get a cool t shirt or whatever the crappy little 'secrets' in this game are. give me fast action, slick gameplay and make me use my head! GTA 4 kind of feels the same way (although it was actually cool for the first few hours).

so can anyone recommend a sick hack-and-slash-3rd-person-run-around-killing-shit-while-you-level-up-and-get-cool-new-abilities-while-you-solve-hard-puzzles game for 360? I actually thought Conan was pretty awesome, but I would have liked more (and more challenging) puzzles. I am honestly considering buying a ps3 JUST to play GOW 3.

Bioshock is dope, I've heard good things about Dead Space too.
Resident Evil 5 comes out Friday and it's supposed to be really good also.
If the difficulty thing is an issue, just rent RE5 and put it on the hardest level and test the waters.

I was SO disappointed with bioshock. speaking of games that are way too easy. that game gave you absolutely 0 incentive to stay alive. you could literally finish the game using nothing but the wrench by hitting something once, dying, respawning like 10 seconds away and then hitting it again. it's really too bad, because there were a lot of cool parts of the game.

anyway, as I said, I'm over shooters. I want something with melee weapons and unlocking new combos and finding new weapons and getting new powers with cool puzzlees

essentially, what I want is god of war.

Dead Space is good, very creepy with the sound effects and the like. Bioshock though in my opinion better game, one of the best I've ever played

ninja gaiden 2, although it doesnt have puzzles
devil may cry 4, again, no puzzles

i was totally unimpressed with dmc 4. i found that one or two combos carried you through the game, rendering all of the others just extra shit that 'looks cool.' one of the things I loved about GOW, and about Conan in particular, was that you really needed who to use your new abilities in order to adapt to different scenarios. In Conan, for example, certain combos are effective against certain enemies, and you have to tailor your style of play to the particular enemy you were facing. they really force you to use all of the character's (extremely numerous) abilities. in DMC 4 you can get away with mindless button-mashing.

I haven't tried ninja gaiden 2 yet, but it's on the list. I wish they had included some puzzles in it though. I hear it is insanely difficult too (which is a good thing).

Gears of War series?
Fallout 3?

fyi I don't own a 360, speaking from experience though..
